First and foremost, Dr. Daigle did a great job helping my Great Dane through his skin issue. The problem came when I returned for the follow-up and was charged full price for the office visit recheck when I never saw Dr. Daigle, who was the specialist/Dermatologist who initially visited with my pet. The vet tech who conducted the follow-up was wonderful, but she is not the specialist and I shouldn't have to pay specialist fees for the vet tech. When I brought up the issue to the front desk I felt that I was treated with a snide attitude by the young man with the mustache, who very passive-aggressivly responded with "There will be nothing done about your complaint. The charge will not change." By remaining kind and because I told them them Dr. Daigle said I wouldn't be charged for the follow up (yes, I asked during the first visit, since it cost me over $1000) they knocked off $29.43, which was rather insulting. I spent over $1400 between the two visits and feel I should not have been charged for a recheck when I never saw the doctor/specialist. I felt taken advantage of in that aspect. The poor attitude I received from the front desk employees and feeling like I was over charged for an office visit that was not attended by the specialist or any doctor for that matter but yet still charged as though it was, the other staff was great..It's poor business practices to sneak and misrepresent charges in on your clients without telling them. I will not go back.Thank you.

A few weeks ago, I endured every pet owner's nightmare, having to put down my dog. His condition deteriorated rapidly over the weekend. I already had his primary care vet schedule the following Tuesday, but had to bring him in on a Sunday evening, when my vet was closed. CTVSEH was able to take him and run some initial tests. They even had specialists that could diagnose further, but were very upfront about the costs. It was a grim and inevitable conclusion with or without the diagnoses and I had to put him down. Sunday was the last day I ever had him at home, but I felt reassured leaving him at CTVSEH knowing that the staff was keeping him comfortable and well-fed, beyond what I could do for him.My group of friends accompanied me to say our farewells and they were able to arrange the process to support a group of 15 people coming in. They explained the process to us and gave us all the time we needed to carry on.I'm still reeling from the events that took place, but this hospital really eased what was a devastating moment and I'm thankful for the care and consideration they showed my dog in his last days. You could feel there was an atmosphere of compassion here.

Nobody wants to have to run their pet to an emergency vet, but I am grateful to the intake staff, the vet techs, and Dr Roxanna Khorzad for their kindness, calming, quiet presence and transparency during my visit a few days ago. They were the type of people I was hoping I would get when I walked in. I have been to an emergency vet once before for a stray cat I found injured back in Hawaii, and did not have the same experience as I had here in Texas. This hospital made the visit easier on me and my 15 year old pup, and treated my pup kindly. They put a couple cute blankets on her while she was on the stretcher and for it being such a hard day for me, this little detail was meaningful to me and didn't go unnoticed.I felt the fees were also fair as they were way less than I expected, and they provided quotes for me on request before I approved anything. Thank y'all so much for making a really hard day for me and my girl a little easier to get through. Although the outcome is that I'll need to say goodbye to my girl in a few days, your kindness speaks volumes about your practice and leadership and I will recommend your hospital to anyone who needs an emergency vet in the area. Thank you from me and Chaeli.

This place is awesome. Our Frenchie Kennedy torn her ACL and required surgery. The surgery with Dr. Bevan was a great success and we cant thank Amy enough for always being accessible post op for any of our concerns. Our dramatic princess took a little longer putting weight on her leg but after 1 PT session with Giselle and "Uncle Ross" she came out a whole new pup. We really appreciate everything guys, Thank you!

They will charge you $240 just to get in without an appointment. My dog cut the side of her paw. I thought it might need a few stitches and it was almost 5 pm on a Thursday so i brought her in. They told me a nearly $1600 surgical repair was necessary for stitches and my dog would need to be put under anesthesia for the procedure. I was shocked because i thought it would at most need like 2 or 3 stitches. But the vet also told me she couldn’t even tell how deep it was because she couldn’t get good look at it!?? After denying the treatment plan (and feeling a bit ashamed that i wasn’t willing to fork up over $1500) they told me my dog needed care immediately and to take her to a more affordable vet by tomorrow. I told them i am just going to baby it and help her heal it on her own. They were not happy with that. I asked for a second set of gauze to change bandage in the morning….They said it would be an additional 78$ if i wanted some to take some home, which is laughable. It was almost $500 for them to wrap her paw, some pain pills, an anti inflamitory and a cone (i had some antibiotics already). The next morning the cut was closed, had not bled, and looks like it’s going to heal just fine with some TLC. The dog isn’t even limping, After googling a bit i read that stitches in the paw are often unsuccessful anyways because of the location. This place didn’t have any compassion or go over other options besides surgical stitches. I honestly feel like they were trying perform a completely unnecessary procedure on my dog. Putting a dog under anesthesia has a list of REAL risks. I don’t plan on returning or recommending this vet to anyone. EDIT: my dogs paw is completely healed 10 days after the injury. I’m so glad i didn’t waste my money with surgery and stress my dog out any farther.

Absolutely terrible. If you care about your pets, avoid this place like the Plague. They made me wait for 6 hours on a Saturday afternoon. They were undestaffed and said that they needed another nurse to handle my cat. I volunteered to assist, but they refused me, making me wait while they tried to call in more staff. My cat had a breast infection. When I finally saw the veterinarian, she refused to issue an antibiotic, even on a speculative basis, because they couldn't confirm it was a bacterial infection. They did NOTHING, and simply dismissed me.She was sick and reclusive the remainder of the weekend, and I took her to another place who promptly issued an antibiotic and cleared up the infection. After several more weeks, my cat developed a tumor on the same breast, which quickly metastasized and spread to her lymph nodes and eventually lungs, resulting her being put to sleep.I spent hundreds on chemo and surgery, and I wonder if she'd gotten proper treatment early, she'd still be with us.Bottom line is that these people don't know how to run a business, they don't care about their patients or their owners.

I unfortunately had to put my best friend Zeus down on January 23, 2024 and took him to Central Texas Veterinary Specialty in Round Rock and it was so pleasant going there, they were very friendly and caring and made the whole experience so special. I am glad I went there and would highly recommend anyone that needs any kind of animal care to go there. Thank you for making a difficult time special.

Dr. Simmonds and staff saved our cat when he was at deaths door. Our cat had a foreign body with his own hair ball. After the surgery (which was successful), everything went downhill. His temperature started to increase. It peaked at 105, which was dangerous. I rushed my cat from his regular doctor to here. My partner and I were in tears, and desperate for anyone to save our cat. Dr. Simmonds, warmly introduced us. She went straight to the point on what treatment needs to be done and warned us the cost. At this point, we didn't care. We wanted our cat to be saved. The staff and Dr. Simmonds went to work right away. They held our cat for a week, showing small improvements each day, he was diagnosis of IBD. It was difficult for him to eat on his own, so Dr. Simmons placed a feeding tube.I could go on, but the point is, after a month he was back to his normal self.Dr. Simmonds and staff, we can not thank you enough for putting the amount of effort and kindness to save Pavol.

These folks are the most compassionate, caring, empathetic, wonderful animal caretakers I have encountered in Central Texas.

Have used CTVSH on and off for over a decade and they have always exceeded expectations in every arena. There is no better veterinarian emergency care available in the area who provide all the options available in a straightforward and empathetic manner. In the most difficult of times, they have been a guiding light of comfort and calm.Have gone to other “animal hospital” facilities in an emergency to find out they were actually only clinics which caused delays and cost money.CTVSH is highly regarded and recommended.

Called them Saturday evening about an injured dog. Had no hesitation on saying come in. I arrived they immediately went to my car and got the dog. I hope she was ok. Staff was helpful. Polite and courteous.

Services were very good here. Even got a veterans discount. So sad though that it was for putting him down as he was very sick. God bless him.

Loose Screw! I'd give ZERO stars if I could: My dog had two TPLO surgeries here. One knee developed a recurrent infection which was treated with antibiotics until it became apparent that an additional surgery would be needed to remove the plates and eliminate the infection. CTVSEH then quoted me nearly $4300 for the new surgery and refused additional antibiotics - forcing my hand on the surgery. I asked them why so much, they eventually came down to $3800. It was then that I was referred to another surgeon at VSS. He agreed to do the surgery for $1400. He did that surgery on 12/6 and discovered a LOOSE SCREW! He went on to say the loose screw was the problem the entire time. I sent the medical records, statements and invoice to CTVSEH for reimbursement for at least the $1400, explaining the situation, it was their fault... and they ignored my request - until finally "leadership" responded that it "couldn't possibly be the loose screw" and "GO AWAY!" No, I'm not going away. Unbelievable. You owe me $1400! This is no way to run a business and I would encourage you to go elsewhere. Go to VSS! Additional notes, the original surgeon at CTVSEH moved to another state after the surgeries, I've never gotten the impression that CTVSEH wanted to honor his poor work. Maybe that's why they're hiding and refusing to acknowledge their fault and make this situation right. Again, poor business leadership....dishonest, go elsewhere for your surgical needs. Again, go to VSS!
