Single ladies stay away! They replaced my catalytic converters along with other things they said were necessary with the replacement. When I called them to see if my vehicle was ready they said it was but asked if I’ve heard a noise coming from my AC before dropping off my car 3 days prior. Nope, no noise whatsoever from my AC or anywhere. They tell me they think my air compressor needs replacing. Welp, that’s weird because it was fine 3 days ago. They immediately went on defense and say they didn’t touch anything near my air compressor. Yet they took over 24 hours to diagnose and confirm what the failed emissions test stated about the catalytic converters. Which I showed them the code and even left the receipt in my car. When I asked why it took so long they advised that they actually go in and search for the problem. Interesting, now I have more problems. I was also told that they didn’t drive my car prior to searching and repairing so didn’t know if the noise happened before I dropped it off.
I had to use my car for work the next day so didn’t have time to play these games.
They picked me up and brought me to my car, I paid them the $5300.00 for the catalytic converters and yep, immediately heard the noise I've never heard in my car. I called minutes after driving to let them know I heard the noise they told me about ..and understood that since they were closing they would send me the quote for repairs the next day.
Got the call the next day… air compressor replacement and other “necessary parts” would be $4,000. They were also charging me another $189 for diagnostics when they had just done one that took 24 hours. I reiterated that it’s weird my car was working just fine before being in their care and asked how they’d feel if this happened to their daughter who had no one nearby to help with these things. Four hours later I received their text with a quote that was reduced to $3100.
I lost trust in them and took my car to a mechanic my friend recommended. He found a loose bolt/nut on the air compressor…SHOCKER... he said it’s very unlikely that it would just come loose and weird that the noise didn’t happen before I took it to Christian Brothers but it did while in their care and when I picked it up..my instincts were unfortunately confirmed. Christian Brothers knew I was a single woman, they knew I needed my car for work and they knew I was on a time crunch. They took advantage of me and possibly caused an issue to my property for their monetary gain.
I take accountability for divulging my distress and personal life situation to Christian Brothers during our interaction. I initially felt safe in their hands because of their great reviews, peppy customer service and worship music in the lobby. Unfortunately I left feeling drained. Thank God He showed me who to count on next time. NOT CHRISTIAN BROTHERS.

From the moment I walked through the doors at Christian Brothers Automotive, I was warmly greeted and made to feel truly welcome. I was promptly walked through the costs associated with a diagnostic test, and to my surprise, I was even provided with a complimentary shuttle to work—an incredible gesture that made a big difference in my day.
It didn’t stop there. Within an hour, I received a detailed report explaining the issues with my vehicle. Because I’m not well-versed in car repairs, Phil—the gentleman who ran the diagnostic—went above and beyond. He personally contacted the dealership to check if the issue might be covered under warranty, and even helped me locate a service center that could take care of it.
Phil treated me with the utmost respect and ensured I understood everything clearly. He turned a potentially stressful situation into a smooth, supportive experience. I can say with confidence that I will never take my vehicle anywhere else.
The service I received is the true definition of excellence, and Christian Brothers Automotive should serve as the gold standard for the industry. Thank you for not only taking care of my vehicle but for genuinely prioritizing your customers’ best interests.

First time dealing with the folks here and EVERYONE is so friendly, helpful and professional. I’ve called similar businesses where I felt like a burden or like the person hated their job. But each person I spoke with over the phone and in person really made me feel important and appreciated. They’ve definitely created a customer for life.

I have been going there for 3 years now and will no longer go there after I had gotten new brake fluid at 53k miles from them, then at my next service at 59.5k miles they said my brake fluid was bad. When I asked them how could this be? The service manager goes and retests with “another tool” that says it’s yellow instead of red now… so you’re giving customers bad brake fluid status measurements… and how do I even know if my brake fluid was even replaced at my previous visit if the “other tool” now says it is yellow?
This is not a trustworthy mechanic.

I don't trust them one bit!
I’ve been to Christian Brothers Automotive multiple times over the years, both at the Hutto location and the one on Louis Henna. I originally chose them because they work with CarShield, my warranty provider, which made things easier in theory.
One experience that really stood out was when they told me I needed a full replacement on a part, but after CarShield sent their own inspector, it turned out the replacement wasn’t necessary. To this day, that part is still functioning just fine—almost two years later. It made me question how accurate or fair their assessments really are.
More recently, I brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic because I was having issues that I specifically asked them to look into. One issue was with my starter, which I clearly mentioned. Despite that, they kept trying to tie the problem back to the battery—even though I had just replaced the battery a couple of months prior and told them so. I ended up replacing the battery again, just to be sure, but the issue still wasn't resolved, which confirmed that the battery wasn’t the problem. I had asked them to check the systems related to the starter, but that never happened.
On top of that, they quoted me nearly $800 for brake work. I ended up getting the same service done at another shop for around $200.
In the end, I just don’t feel confident trusting their recommendations anymore. It often felt like I was being upsold or nudged toward unnecessary services. I kept going back mostly because they were one of the few shops that worked with my warranty provider. But at this point, the lack of transparency and the pattern of overcharging just made me feel like I needed to speak up.

I appreciated how transparent they were when they informed me of the process, the time length that it would take and also having a courtesy shuttle that was able to take me to work and pick me up when my car was ready
