Steve is a mechanic that sells lemon cars and lies to people about fixing them but he RIGS the cars until they break over and over again. Maybe go to another guy inside that little rented business it's like 3 different dealers.

Steve has been awesome! I've bought 3 cars from him & he's bent over backwards to make sure I got what I wanted. My daughters love the cars we got from Steve. I've even referred friends who have purchased cars from him & can't be happier. So if your responsible enough to make your payments on time & keep your insurance current your good to go! Did I mention Steve is awesome! Call him get a car. You won't regret it!

I wouldn’t buy a car from anyone else! Steven has helped find us four cars so far and our friends and family as well. He’s always ready to help with a service issue if one comes up that we have questions on. Simply the best!

Steven has been extremely helpful in both his knowledge and in his ability and willingness to save me money. The latter is important as it demonstrates to me that he's more about being helpful and building trust than he is about selling me things I don't need. I haven't purchased a vehicle from Steven, but knew of him and his dealership, so I asked him about some automotive issues I had: I had to replace two things on my vehicle: a very expensive HID headlight and a passenger side mirror that got sideswiped and demolished. I prefer to do things myself if it's easy enough and won't kill the vehicle. The headlight would've cost nearly $2,000 to have someone else get the part and replace it. Steven helped me locate a reasonably-priced used headlight that I installed myself and saved $1,700. The side mirror was surprisingly more involved than the headlight, and was harder to find a replacement. Parts and labor at other places were running around $800. Steven was able to find a used part and installed it in about 15 minutes. On that one he saved me around $650. My situations in which he's helped me are a bit different than buying from him, and maybe people don't often ask him about parts as much as they do about buying from his inventory, but in both cases that I've reached out to him on his opinions and expertise he's been above board and honest, as well as taking my expressed concerns into consideration. He's never tried to sell me on something I didn't need or up charge me when he could save me money. That speaks volumes, and he's earned my trust. I'd highly recommend checking out Steven and Hip Motors if you're looking for a car or have auto issues!

Steven sold me an unsafe vehicle and now does not answer or return phone calls or text messages. I bought a car from him 2 weeks ago that I wish I had not. I was tired of looking around at used cars since I had been looking for 2.5 months, trying to make sure I did not buy an unsafe car. This car has a seat belt that does not work, does not have a wheel lock, turn signal does not work and does not have a manual. I am sure I will uncover more things about the car that was withheld from me during my initial meeting with Steven. He told me when I purchased the car that they top off all of the fluids when they get cars in and inspect them before selling them. The 2nd day I had the car, I noticed a warning light was on. I took it to a auto store and they said the washer fluid was low. I purchased 2 gallons of washer fluid and it took 1.5 gallons. So Steven is now an untruthful person, because there is no way they could top off the fluids when it needed that much washer fluid. Save your money and the aggravation, if you have any issues after the sale and buy from an honest dealer that sells cars that are safe to drive. Don't buy a car from him or the guy he shares a building with Josh at Centexsi.com.

Steven is friendly and helpful, before the sale, during the sale, and even after the sale. He totally inverts the stereotype[s] about used-car dealers. If you are in the market for a used car in the Austin area, I highly recommend you check his inventory [or give him a call] to see if he has something that will meet your needs, especially if you are looking for a Prius [as I was and bought from him]. This review was written roughly 2 months after I bought the car. I received no compensation for writing this review, and IIRC Steven [owner of Hip Motor Cars] didn`t even _ask_ me to write a Yelp review.

I found Steven's ad for a Prius on Craig's List, which wasn't my first choice of places to go, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to work with him, and how knowledgeable he was. He's very amiable, and I had several good conversations with him. He keeps the documentation on the history of his cars, which was important for me, and he likes to get into the details of how they work (which for a guy who never owned a Prius before, helped. At one point I called him at 9 p.m. and asked him to help me start the thing, and he was totally OK with explaining you had to have your foot on the brake pedal WHILE pushing the "power" button.) I've had the Prius I bought from him about 2 1/2 months now, and have about 6.5k miles on it (135k total) and it is still running very well - I couldn't be happier with it. In the spring the gas mileage from Austin to Ft. Worth averaged about 47 mph, nowadays it seems more like 43-44, but I suspect it has something to do with the hot Texas summers... There were a couple of hiccups; one was that the original battery Steven had put into the vehicle had a bad sensor, which threw some electrical warnings. That really concerned me from the outset, but Steven debugged it and replaced the battery with one that didn't have a finicky sensor, and I haven't had an issue since. Also, there was an issue that one of the main headlamps went out shortly after I bought it, but he had an extra headlamp on-hand (it would have been only $10-20 if I had bought it, so not a big deal) and he gladly showed me how to replace it. Steven likes to make sure he aligns the car with the person buying it, so that you don't wind up paying for more than you need or not getting enough of what you need. For me, I'm an engineer with a weekly 400 mile commute, so I was just looking for a reliable vehicle with good gas mileage within a certain price range, and not a lot of bells & whistles. Steven quickly identified that and showed me a model that was exactly all of those things. I'd highly recommend Steven to someone, especially if they know what they're looking for. UPDATE [Oct 2017]: I've had the vehicle for 3+ years now, I think it's been, and only had a couple of very normal maintenance issues (12V lead-acid battery and the hybrid inverter pump went out). Both were fairly easy to fix on my own and Steven was really prompt to get back with me, helping me diagnose and pointing me in the right direction for how to do it on my own and save hundreds of dollars. He's seriously top-notch! I'd recommend him to anyone. FYI - I am only writing this of my own volition because I've been so impressed. I'd never expect a car salesman to help me out like he has 3+ years after selling me the car. He's really detail oriented, interested in what he does, and has a lot of practical experience.

Steven has been excellent. He always has a good selection of used cars and specializes in Toyota Prius. He checks out and refurbishes the hybrid batteries well before the end of their warranty period. He is great at giving advice even if it means not buying from him. He is so easy to work with. I bought a 2005 Prius from him, and the entire process was so refreshingly easy. I highly recommend HIP Motor Cars.
