I love coming here for the Mexican meats and we always get the Carnitas Combo amongst other items. Can’t leave without the Salvadoran Crema! But today I was treated so ugly by this woman behind the Togo food area. As we always we do ordered our carnitas combo but we noticed they had a new meat that looked tasty 😋. I simply and very politely asked if instead of getting 2 lbs of carnitas on my combo if I can do a lb of carnitas and a lb of this new tasty looking meat. Also letting her know I’m happy to pay any difference needed. Man this woman was so rude, so ugly, her vibe was so negative. Her exact words in Spanish “you didn’t order that so you can’t get two different meats” I politely replied, “ I understand no worries again reminding her I’m happy to pay for the difference. Whatever the cost. She again instead of being nice and just try to help me get what I want. She said “No you get 2 lbs of carnitas!!” “You want this meat you need to go back to the register!” Sooo rude. Even he co worker apologized to me. It will be a while before I return. I have never been treated like this here. 😔

My low stars are more for customer service than products. Seems to have a great selection of products and the meat department didn't smell bad, like many small supermarkets do. I purchased a bag of nopales and they were inconsistently cut. I had to spend time cutting the huge chunks. Two men working the produce section looked inconvenienced by me and another lady trying to maneuver our way through their boxes that were all over the floor. At one point I stared at one of them because he put a box down right in front of me. I must have a teacher stare because he moved it fast. Employees need some common courtesy, that's all.

I have been a loyal customer of La Michoacana since childhood, and it is disappointing to write this. Unfortunately, the quality and hygiene standards at this particular location have fallen far below expectations.
If you are planning on visiting the bakery for their so-called “Mexican gourmet bread,” I strongly recommend you pass. The area appears infested with bugs, flies, and gnats. The bread itself is unacceptable soggy, stale, and carries a moldy odor. The texture suggests it has been sitting out or recycled for days, and it completely lacks the rich, fresh flavor that authentic Mexican bread should have. I have given this location multiple chances, and each time the result has been the same.
The issues are not limited to the bakery. The meat department is equally concerning. After cooking the meat I purchased, it smelled and tasted spoiled. The deli section is the most alarming the presentation is unsanitary and unappetizing, as if the food were being dumped into trays with no care for appearance or quality.
The only reason I continue to shop here is to purchase tostadas and tortillas from outside brands not from La Michoacana itself. On top of all this, the prices are excessive. I fully understand inflation, but paying $19 for four small pieces of oxtail is unjustifiable given the substandard quality.
I love supporting My Mexican stores and culture and local owners, but this location is clearly not being managed properly. The lack of hygiene, poor product quality, and careless presentation are unacceptable. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously, because right now, this location does not reflect the pride and standard of authentic Mexican markets.

Great place to go to find those harder to find ingredients for your Hispanic dishes. I'd give a 5 star but it's pretty expensive compared to other grocery stores.
