The employee (mid 20s) helping me wasn't much help. Told him we had purchased paint there before and it had been less then a year (maybe 6 to 8 months ago)but I wasn't sure which one from the paper I was holding was the one we had ordered previously. I didn't know what code meant what or which was indoor or outdoor paint. The employee I was so lucky to get stated they don't keep track of customers purchases. I thought yo myself,, Lowes can even keep track of your paint color purchases and they deal with way more then just paint. I would think a Paint Store would def have a computer system that would store customers info. So after another 10 mins of me still not knowing which 2 codes were the ones we purchased before he finally decided to grab some paint samples and showed me which code on my paper went to which color. Still a little unsure because we all know there are 50 shades of gray!! But Ok we are getting some where. Yet still at a very slow pace. I then asked him what type I should get for a bathroom( Flat, eggshell, gloss etc.) I got no reply and just heard crickets. Then I heard the employee next to him asking his customer his name/ info and looking up his previous paint purchases. Wow! So at this point I had been there longer then I should have been had our previous order just simply been looked up (which was almost $1k paint order). I tell the employee I will just get 1 gallon of each with primer just in case these colors are not the right colors. He tells me they don't mix the paint and primer. That can't be done he says. I would need to purchaase the primer separately. Then apply it to the recently correctly painted wall in the bathroom then apply the actual paint. I said I am just painting areas where we removed the mirror and some touch ups. He stated again they don't mix the primer with the paint. Although the paint we purchased from them less then a year ago had the paint and primer all in 1. Cost more but less work and less mess. He told me I was wrong. I told him he was clearly wrong and if he would look up my previous purchases he could see for himself. He typed a few keys, moved the mouse and said "yeh I don't see you in here". Hmm ok! At this point I was so wishing I had walked in after the customer next to me so I could have dealt with that employee (older gentlemen)instead who seemed to know his job. So I just ordered the 2 gallons of Flat without primer. And told him I was going to wait outside. While sitting outside I noticed the paper I was holding with all the color codes were actually the codes from this store printed out. Not just some random codes for gray paint. Had the employee who looked at this paper simply typed in the codes he would have been able to quickly say these are the 2 grays. The rest are white and beige. ? I was glad to see the other employee walking towards my car carrying my paint. I believe he new the other employee clearly did not care to do his job correctly. Very frustrating.

Terrible customer service. They didn’t have a color book to give me. The guy at the counter had no clue what he was talking about and couldn’t answer my questions. The manager who heard how terrible it was going just ignored me because he must be “too busy”. Never going back. I am a home builder and would have brought a lot of business.

“Whiskers is whiskers” he said, it’ll be fine he said.A few weeks back I called another location and told them I was looking for Whiskers to touch up some spots in my 3yo house. The gentleman recommended I bring in a piece of drywall to match.It ended up that I’d be heading up north that day so I went to the Round Rock location instead, with my piece of drywall to match. The less friendly guy at this location said they won’t do a match of my drywall sample because “whiskers is whiskers”, so against my better judgement, I got the 5 gallon can he offered me and headed home.Today I tried the paint on a couple walls and of course, it’s not matching. I made sure the wall was cleaned before, it just doesn’t quite match. It is not that my walls have faded, the walls in question have no direct sunlight.So, now I’ve made quite a mess for myself and will likely have to hire someone to repaint the walls in question, not to mention I have to patch the hole of drywall I took to get the match, along with 5 gallons of unusable paint.

This was my first trip to PPG. I usually go to a national competitor, but the paints used in my home by the contractors came from PPG. Apparently colors for contractor just are changed our periodically. The major interior color I required is no longer mixed, and when it was it as in contractor 5 gal. buckets. The white trim also same problem. BUT! The guy who assisted me went to the limit and was able to provide everything I needed, in the small quantities desired. Well, except for the white trim. Cudos, y'all!
