No way to get balance info on weekends, no help setting up mobile banking over the phone, much of their services are nothing but inconvenient

We have been very pleased with the services and support provided by the Round Rock branch of South Star Bank. In particular it has been a real pleasure to work with Diane Romo, Personal Banker. When we first visited the bank shortly after it opened, Diane greeted us and made it easy for us to open checking and lock box accounts. Any time that we visit the bank she remembered our names and is always willing to help if we have a question about our accounts or the bank's web site. We greatly value the skill and efficiency with which Diane addresses both simple and complex transactions such as a wire transfer.

Worst customer service Every Time we go into the Round Rock Branch . Treated like you are an inconvenience to their day. Not even a “ Hello, how are you?” Would not recommend this bank.

So I joined this bank because of all of the raving online reviews. Unfortunately, I'm honestly not sure what the fuss is all about. Opening an account was time consuming and had me going through extra hoops that no other bank/credit union had me go through. They charge fees for everything which credit unions (the ones I've been with) don't, and they hold any large deposits which my previous financial institutions did not when directly from a bank/credit union (such as a teller check or cashier's check which are immediately funded as they take the $$ out of the. member's account at that time), or wire transfer. This bank, 7 day hold. Only a few branches and none near me, which have me driving at least 25 minutes each way (not a deal breaker for me as I prefer quality over distance, just inconvenient especially when they have you going through extra hoops). Lastly, linked up my visa debit card for Apple pay but it never works. Will be attempting Zelle for the first time at the end of this month...hopefully it works as it should. Truly not understanding the reviews. Unfortunately, I haven't found anyone better and I've searched high and low...so don't intend on leaving at this point. I'll give it a bit longer and see how it goes.

Recently I've moved my company bank accounts from big box banks over to SouthStar and I could not be happier! There is never a wait inside the branch. You don't have to schedule an appointment just to speak with a banker. The branches are VERY nice inside, much more so than the big box banks. They also have restrooms available for customers...just imagine that!On top of that, all of the staff are super friendly and helpful, and I've been into 3 branches with the same result.I won't go into detail about my banking needs but I will say quite a lot of money moves in and out of the accounts in a year and the big box banks weren't giving me any loans against the cash reserves I have or against any of my other collateral. SouthStar already got me approved for a new loan against some of my assets. :-)If you are tired of being treated like a deposit or withdrawal instead of like a valuable customer, then you are at the wrong bank! Check Southstar out. I doubt you'll regret it.
