I am so glad I stumbled across this salon! Normally I am hesitant to try new nail places but I was looking for something last minute Saturday evening and did not have many options. I called to confirm they could take me in and was greeted with a drink menu & color selection when I arrived. I went for a cuba libre drink and had a volcano pedicure with orange scent. Tracy was AH-MAZING at everything and so sweet! I was also pleasantly surprised when the steamer was brought out during the masque treatment! Very relaxing experience and looking forward to going back in a couple weeks!

I had my nails done by Peter and I canāt stop staring at them! He did an absolutely amazing jobāthe attention to detail, the smooth application, and the glossy mirror effect came out beyond perfect. Peter is not only talented, but also super professional and friendly, which made the whole experience enjoyable. He really listened to what I wanted and delivered even better than I imagined. If youāre looking for flawless nails that make you feel confident and beautiful, Peter is the one to book with! Highly recommend! š

I haven't felt this great in a while after getting my nails done, even though I go every three weeks. Tina did an excellent job; she gave me the exact color and shape I requested. She took her time and was careful not to irritate the skin around my nails, and she made sure there was no product over my cuticles, which can cause the nails to lift quickly. I'm happy to say that I've found my nail technician! Book Tina

āāā Thoughtful Feedback for The Z Nails & Spa ā Round Rock, TX
Iāve visited The Z Nails & Spa several times over the years, both before and after the change in ownership. Iāve always appreciated its location and potential, which is why I returned recently with a friend for a mani/pedi. While some parts of the service were satisfactory, others left me feeling disappointed and disrespectedāand I hope this feedback helps guide improvements.
I requested a classic pedicure (no massage) and a regular polish manicure. The shape of my nails was fine, and the polish itself looked great. However, certain aspects of the experience felt overlooked. For example, my feet barely soaked before the pedicure began, and the cleanup didnāt leave them feeling soft or fully refreshed. It wasnāt rushed per se, but it lacked the attention to detail Iāve come to expect.
During the manicure, the tech accidentally nicked my skin while trimming my cuticles. I tried to communicate that it hurt and asked her to be careful, but she misunderstood. A third tech, working nearby, stepped in to translateābut her tone in Chinese came across as sarcastic and dismissive. The two techs began giggling, and I sensed the conversation was about me. I used Google Translateās Conversation feature to confirm, and unfortunately, it revealed disparaging comments about my feet.
This was deeply upsetting. I didnāt make a scene, but I left feeling demeaned. As someone who works in the service industry, I understand the importance of treating every customer with dignityāespecially when language or cultural differences are involved. I wasnāt disrespectful, and I didnāt deserve to be mocked.
After the service, I noticed dust under my nails and uneven cleanup. One tech did return briefly to help me out of the chair and spray my nails, but the others walked away without any follow-up or acknowledgment.
I contacted management afterward, and I want to thank them for their professionalism and willingness to make it right. That said, Iāve decided not to returnānot because of management, but because of the behavior of the techs involved. Service professionals should be trained not just in technique, but in empathy, communication, and cultural awareness. Speaking negatively about a customer in another languageāespecially when theyāre trying to communicate respectfullyāis unacceptable.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to guide staff toward more respectful, inclusive service. The beauty industry thrives on trust and connection, and I truly hope The Z Nails & Spa can rebuild that foundation with future patrons. There are many excellent salons in the area that prioritize customer care, and Iāll be supporting those going forward.
Thank you again to management for your time and attention. I wish you continued successāand hope this leads to better outcomes for all guests.

Today I went to Z Nails in La Frontera for a pedicure, which was perfectly fine. However, I was surprised to learn that they will not apply chrome to your nails unless you also get a gel manicure. This means you must pay for both a gel manicure and chromeāabout $50āeven if you donāt want the manicure itself. They will not do chrome on its own.
While getting my manicure, I asked about the cost of gel and chrome, and apparently this upset the technician. He stopped mid-service and skipped everything that normally comes with a basic manicureāno lotion, no hand massage, no polish, nothing. All he did was clip my nails and trim my cuticles, yet I was still charged $20 for it.
The pedicure was fine, but the manicure experience and chrome policy were very disappointing. So basically if you want Chrome on your toes or your hands the cost is $30 not $15 they're going to charge you twice.

I would not go here. I am not happy with my nails. I got a dip manicure. My nails are different thicknesses, one has a weird discoloration, and a couple have polish running over. I wouldāve said something when I was there, but I didnāt realize until I left. It seemed rushed (even though I was there for 2.5 hours with an appointment - pedicure and manicure), and the nail tech was working on 2 people at once. She tried to cut my nails down, didnāt even ask if I wanted them cut until I had to stop her when she almost had the clippers on my nails. I will be calling to get this rectified, and will not be returning to this establishment.

I really enjoyed my mani/pedi here! The vibe is very new, relaxed, clean, elegant, and professional - just the right size. They donāt try to roll you in-and-out like cattle like the bigger stop-in nail salons. They, too, offer complimentary refreshments. The owner is very kind and conscientious. Highly recommend for the La Frontera area and surrounding neighborhoods!!
