Awesome little in with a lot of history. Loved the architecture and woodwork. Took a bunch of pictures next to the creek.

We did not stay at the Inn this time, but we went to Alexander's restaurant for the first time for my mother and father's anniversary. It was beautiful. It was quiet, romantic, the food and drinks were excellent, and the service was superb. If I could give 10 stars I would!!

We just returned from our stay at the Inn. We had never stayed in a B&B or Inn before. Can't believe we waited so long! It was wonderful! We stayed in the McKie Room. Worth the climb to the third floor. I believe my husband was told it was the largest room. It was for sure larger than 99.9% of the hotel rooms I have stayed in. Bed was comfy. Room was nice and cool when we walked in. My soak in the clawfoot tub was heavenly. Breakfast was fresh blueberry loaf hot from the oven, boiled eggs, cantaloupe and vanilla yogurt with granola. Quite healthy but delicious and filling. Staff was so very kind and welcoming. We would for sure return again if in the area. Salado is a cute little town with a really cold clear creek to wade in, great restaurants and shops, etc. It makes for a great weekend spot.

Great location and friendly staff! Our room was very hot inside upon our arrival. Would've liked the air to have been turned on prior to check in. It was a hundred degree day, and it was almost 90 degrees inside our room. Took a long time for it to cool off. We also found a couple of places that were overlooked by the housekeeping staff. The breakfast menu is very limited. Overall, it wasn't a bad place to stay.Rooms: Small, but cozy... Very hot upon arrival!

After eating next door at Alexander's several times, I finally decided to book a weekend here and don't have a single regret about it.We stayed in the McKie room(3rd floor of the main house aka the Manor) which has a lovely little reading nook overlooking the creek and a library stocked with old books(like 1960s readers digest compilations). The room was great and so was everything about our stay.Tony, the innkeeper, was such a delight every time we talked to him. We brought him some bread pudding from next door as a treat for being so great. He was also very knowledgeable on the property and it's history, which was fascinating.Breakfast in the lobby, or they bring it to your room, consisting of fresh baked break, yogurt, granola, eggs, and fresh fruit, every morning! We also spoke with Colleen, the property manager I think? and she was great! She went into detail about some more of the properties and various improvements. Explained the history of the little pagoda in the nearby bamboo forest and other little tidbits like that. And to top it all off, it was extremely affordable for the room and amount of hospitality they showed us.We will definitely be back!

OMG!!! I can't love this place enough!! I was spending the day in Salado and stopped in for lunch and I was so glad that I did! They weren't very busy when my friend and I arrived, so we were quickly seated. They let us pick where we wanted to sit so naturally we sat outside with a great river view. Our server was extremely friendly and made some great recommendations.I had the crabcakes and they were fantastic! There was plenty of crab in there and very little breading. The flavor was great and they were fried to perfection. My friend had the Kung Pao Cauliflower. WOW! What an unexpected treat! Full of flavor and a HUGE serving. I will definitely be going back next time I visit Salado. Wonderful experience!

The staff went above and beyond after the original hotel we wanted canceled our reservations for my birthday at the last minute. We called the Inn on the creek and explained our dilemma and not only did they set us up with a beautiful private bungalow but gave us a little bottle of prosecco. They were very good about communicating with us and gave a number to text if we needed anything. The breakfasts were amazing and delivered to our door. We had several deer visit our backyard. We are definitely looking forward to coming back. If you go check out the restaurant Alexander's. Amazing food and wonderful service.

The negative first- We booked here for our wedding Anniversary. I've seen this Inn several times and wanted to give it a try. So last minute we booked a room through a third party site. One thing we did not realize is we would not be staying at the main house that is actually on the creek. This was a disappointment but now we know better next time. Our room was Whistler.. this room is right on the Royal Street and was very cute and adorable. The wall AC did a great job keeping us cool. However the bed was so uncomfortable we got very little sleep during our stay. Not because the mattress itself was uncomfortable, but because the middle support under the bed was missing and the bed is bowing into the middle- (super easy fix hopefully). We kept rolling into the center of the bed waking up several times and very sore the next morning. Also the street traffic was very loud at times in our room. While our room wasn't comfortable, the beauty of the main Inn and the attention of the staff was amazing. They gave us a small champagne bottle for our Anniversary and delivered us packed box breakfasts since we were leaving early on the last day. We will definitely be booking again to experience the main manor.

I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this lovely inn!!! My fiancé and I, (who had come to Salado for a little overnight getaway in order to celebrate our engagement) had a terrible experience with another local inn. We called the Inn on the Creek at Salado and they were able to book us in a gorgeous room in a quiet location at the last minute. The room and grounds are BEAUTIFUL and peacful, and the staff was SO amazing and accommodating for our last minute booking. They not only made us feel very welcome, but also went out of their way to make sure what had begun as a not so great getaway turned out to be the lovely and romantic weekend we had hoped for!! Thanks so much Inn on the Creek!!! Your place is the ONLY place we will book on our future trips to Salado!!

We booked a room somewhat last minute, as a stop/layover during a road trip. We stayed in the Fletcher room, which couldn't have been more charming! Everything was very nice, comfortable, and clean. The owners were very accomodating - and the breakfast was delicious! We will definitely stay here again.

We’ve stayed here several times before and have always enjoyed it. We missed the hot breakfast they served before Covid. But even the cold breakfast was quite tasty as well as filling. Dinner at the Inn was excellent. I had the lamb shank and my wife had the pork chops. Mine came with mashed potatoes, carrots and zucchini. The meat was so tender I didn’t need a knife. The town is small. We walked everywhere.

On our drive back from San Antonio, we just thought we will rest few mins by the park here in Salado. We saw this place by the creek and Tony was really nice to show us the rooms here. We decided to stay as the rooms are really nice with character. Great experience plus it is fun exploring this beautiful town
