Cactus Book Shop is a rare gem and an absolute gem of a bookstore, a great store to check out if you like older books and obscure topics. Located downtown, it is choked full of history and possesses an abundance of books. It is so full, in a good way, of books that it simply isn't possible to have a place to sit down. The shop has a very homey feel and the wonderful smell of old books. It is a thoroughly enjoyable visit, offering a wide selection including many books about Texas and Texas history, the classics, assorted history, fiction, westerns, biographies, kids books, and more. There are some very old books, vintage periodicals, and a whole selection of leather bound novels. The gentleman owning and operating the shop is very polite and sweet, offering a pleasant greeting. Visitors highly recommend this establishment and plan to stop by again.
When you first walk in we were greeted by this sweet gentleman who I believe was the owner.If you’re in need of a good book wether it be a western, biography, or even a kids book this place is a rare gem. I highly recommend this establishment and when I come back to Visit my grandparents will get new books.

Absolute gem of a bookstore, there aren't many such bookstores left. Though they have an abundance of books about Texas and Texas history, they also have the classics, assorted history, fiction and more. There are some very old books and vintage periodicals as well. Thoroughly enjoyable visit.
