While the initial experience was fairly good and All of my furniture arrived safely (a handful of missing boxes aside), We had a significant delay in the delivery of our items due to a mechanical breakdown.
At the loading of my materials, The driver indicated that he would need to have a shuttle Because of a tree branch. Although Allied had been to my home and confirmed that no shuttle was necessary, We essentially felt that we were left to navigate this with the driver who Expressed to my husband that We “ Needed to take care of his team” As he was doing us a significant favor to not use a shuttle. I felt like we were being held up for an extra tip (that we would have provided anyway).
Although we were promised delay coverage, our claim was ultimately denied by Allied because of an apparent exclusion for mechanical breakdowns. Although allied knew that the truck was broken down within a day of loading our goods, No one communicated that until five days later and only after we repeatedly called. Because of poor expectation setting from the driver And the distance to our new move location, We hit the road, Only to learn after we had arrived at our new location that there was no way our items would be delivered For 11 additional days. The lack of timely communication Caused additional stress and expensive to our family In an already stressful time. To be promised compensation for the delay and then have it denied desire the Representation Gives me significant pause about their honesty. Because of this, I cannot recommend this company.

After they lost and destroyed 10% of our possessions, they have managed to get out of paying for almost any of it. $240 out of the $5000 of the claim has made me certain that they are just pure evil, money grasping crooks who care nothing about families or peoples's lives. I will continue to tell everyone what happened: that I paid $8000 for a move that I could have paid $2000 for a truck to move myself and had all my things actually get to my new home. I regret ever trusting Allied, and I won't ever make that mistake again!

Excellent service from start to finish with Allied! All the employees were friendly, polite, and helpful, from the intial phone call to the move coordinator, the packers, craters, movers, and drivers. Everyone! We were very pleased with the entire experience and would highly recommend Allied to anyone wanting a smooth, stress-free, and efficient interstate move. All of our furnishings were treated with care and arrived on time and undamaged. We are so grateful! Thank you, Coleman-Allied!

I just recently went through the whole process of ‘a move’. I started with about a week’s worth of researching and cross-referencing online reviews and rating information from many sites (Trustpilot, BBB, Consumer Affairs, Google reviews, moving.com, move.org, the FMSCA, the Dept of Transportation, and people’s online Quora and Reddit comments about moving companies). From these sites, I then came up with my top 5 companies—those that I would call for either an in-person tour of my home or a virtual tour (most do virtual tours and those actually work out really well!). I then conducted, I believe, two virtual tours and an in-person tour by the time I was ready to contact Allied/Coleman Worldwide Moving.
What sold me on Allied/Coleman Worldwide Moving, in addition to Allied having gotten good reviews for the most part and really good comments on Quora and Reddit, was the virtual tour I had with Move Consultant Robert Hamilton. He spent a lot of time with me making sure he was able to see everything during the virtual tour and answering all my questions (and asking clarifying questions, too) as I was going around my house with my phone’s video. When we were done with the virtual tour, he then spent another round of time with me and answered all the questions I had about the moving process (most of the questions I asked were the suggested ones I got from the FMSCA site). He laid out what a moving timeline looks like, who’s involved in doing what, who would continue to contact me, etc. He laid it all out succinctly and with a ton of enthusiasm. After we were done, I had another one or two other virtualtours/interviews and then narrowed it down to two. I then received the Allied quote from Robert and it was now a no-brainer. I’d go with Allied/Coleman Worldwide Moving to take care of our move.
And I made the right decision! Everything that happened after the virtual tour—from the scheduling calendar that was sent to me to the introduction of the move coordinator to, then, the actual packing (Glenda and Ivan were so proficient at how they packed our items), the crating of the more valuable items, and finally the loading and unloading—was laid out clearly and all done professionally and on time. As each segment of the process was carried out, people from the company even called, emailed, or texted me to see if everything was going well: when the packers were at the old house, I got a call, text, or email from Allied; when the loaders were at the house, same thing--I got a call; when the crew was unloading at my new place, same. Allied was always checking in with me to make sure things were on schedule and going well. And, above and beyond it all, I could always get in touch with my move coordinator, Meisa Brown, and/or even Robert if I had questions about something (and I did—I had to make a claim regarding a damaged item—and both responded promptly). Coleman even sent out Tomas, a quality control surveyor, during either the loading or the packing, to check out that everyone who was suppose to be there was there and to let me know that if I had any questions or if there were any issues, I could contact him. He then gave me his business card.
You know, relocating is stressful enough whether you’re doing this in-town, intrastate, or interstate like I was. The last thing you need to worry about or get scammed on is the moving part. I started the research into moving companies knowing that there was the possibility that a chunk of any move could be a huge headache. That’s what I was warned about by comments online. I made such a good decision when I chose Allied/Coleman because every part of the moving process was done SO efficiently, so methodically—absolutely no headache! The constant communication Allied/Coleman had with me helped dispel any fear about things not ‘going right’. I was so impressed that I referred a friend of mine--who is also moving out-of-state-- to Allied.

My home items were treated with great care and not one thing was delivered broken. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because they did not plug in my treadmill or massage chair to make sure they both worked properly. I still have not plugged in to see if they do indeed work.

We had a wonderful experience with our move. The driver and the workers that came to load up the truck were super efficient and the young man who did all of the packing and wrapping was very, very good. He deserves a raise . When they came into Illinois to unload they could not get up the driveway so they had to haul everything up a hill to enter the house with their dollies. They did a fantastic job and we have nothing but praise for the whole experience.

Everything was professional and on time. The packers and loaders were amazing. The driver coordinated his pickup and delivery so there were no questions at all. The cost was exactly as advertised. All my household goods arrived on time and in excellent condition.

Allied made my moving experience a wonderful experience. Price was super competitive. Provided followups throughout the whole process, so you are always on the know. Items were thoroughly inventoried, well packed and secured. Special shoutout to Luis the driver who was extremely accommodating and flexible. Overall great experience.
