I recently moved to San Antonio and had to switch to AT&T due to service availability for my apartment.
Initially, I was optimistic about AT&T’s reputation. The installation package arrived quickly, and I set it up despite some initial issues, which customer service helped resolve. However, once everything was set up, I experienced significant problems.
I subscribed to the Internet Basic 3 plan. When I tested the connection, Google and YouTube took an unreasonable amount of time to load. I asked the customer service representative if this was normal, and he confirmed that the basic plan is very slow. While I expected lower speeds with a basic plan, I didn’t anticipate such poor performance.
Despite trying to prioritize my laptop and resetting the modem, the internet speed remained unbearably slow. Paying $60 a month for this service feels like a waste, as my phone’s hotspot provides much faster internet. The primary reason I got Wi-Fi was to use my printer, but now I find myself relying on my phone’s hotspot for everything.
This plan is not worth $60 a month. I will be canceling my AT&T service and looking into alternatives like Google Fiber, which I've heard offers significantly better service for $70 a month.
If you're considering AT&T, I strongly advise against their basic plan. Even for light use, it struggles to handle basic online activities. Save yourself the frustration and explore other options.

I didn’t even use their service because it wouldn’t work in my neighborhood (although i told them and they still assured that it would work). They said I wouldn’t be charged since i sent back the package and guess what?…… They charged me for service I didn’t use and refuse to give me my refund. Their customer service agents are rude as well. They are thieves! Stay away!

Over the phone the service was very slow and reps were not bc very willing to help. I had to ask to speak to a supervisor. Seems the company is lacking in finding reps that are willing to go above and beyond, also it seems they are out soursing and that also is an issue with them not ready speaking good English. Not happy at all. The only reason I chose AT&T for cable and internet is because spectrum is even worse and they price gouge big time.

They have very clean area compared to other. Location btw their contractor they hired for their lawn are very nice and honest

Service tower by my house has been down for a week they keep saying it'll be fixed tommorow but it's been a week and it's not fixed.

I have dealt with 14 different people trying to process an upgrade. Not one single person has told me the same thing. I have been sent to a corporate store who told me there was nothing they could do. I have chatted with and spoken on the phone with again, 14 people. I still do not have an answe . I pay over 500 dollars a month to AT&T and have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and yet I get nothing. This is highway robbery and unacceptable. All of your hold music is about how much you care and all you want to do and NADA! When I do talk to a new person, they have no clue! Do you not document? I would be fired for this type of service.
