Excellent place to bring kids to help improve their wellbeing overall. My daughter has shown so much improvement since becoming a patient. It is money well spent.

We came here 6 months ago - DESPERATE. As a mother, you just know when something isn't right. I felt that there were things I was seeing in our son (he is now 11yo, but he started Brain Balance when he was 10yo) that would indicate a possible ADHD diagnosis, but I kept thinking he'd grow out of it. We are also a homeschooling family so I was 100% aware of his "habits," so to speak, as far as learning. He struggled with focus, he had an inability to remember multi-step instructions, he was impulsive, he didn't express his emotions properly, and he was a slow reader. He also began exhibiting signs of anxiety around bedtime, which is actually the main reason we brought him in. He had developed (almost overnight) an obsession with needing to go to bed by 9pm. If he didn't, he would start to freak out. Beginning at 830pm every night, he'd stare at the clock repeatedly. It became a challenge when we were out of the house anywhere close to 9pm and we had to book it to leave in order to prevent a meltdown. Then, he started waking in the middle of the night, standing by my bed crying and complaining that he couldn't sleep (even though he was sleeping) and he was so worried he wouldn't get enough sleep. This was starting to affect the dynamics of our entire family and that's when I knew we needed to do something. I actually had seen a Brain Balance ad because I had concerns even back then, which did end up getting better, so this wasn't the first time we had heard about Brain Balance. We took him in for an assessment and it was shown that he was weaker in his right brain, which helped to explain why he had the struggles he had. Within weeks, we began noticing subtle changes - like wanting to cut his hair (when prior to Brain Balance, he wouldn't even consider touching his hair), and trying new foods. His anxiety around bedtime seemed to disappear around this time, too. Within a couple of months, he seemed to carry a confidence about him. He started looking people in their eyes (he was very timid before and didn't look at people often) and having small conversations with them. I noticed he was improving in his reading ability - becoming more fluent and able to read longer, more complex words - after a few months. He started to show more emotion, even crying several times at appropriate times. This was also a big deal because he didn't really have a range of emotions (especially sad ones) and almost always fought back his tears, if he had any. He slowly started to become more aware of his emotions, saying things like, "That makes me sort of sad," or "I'm excited because..." He never said things like this before Brain Balance! He remembers to do his chores now - whereas before, I had to constantly remind him what he needed to do because he would always forget, even if I'd just told him minutes before. He even started developing an interest in playing the piano (this was towards the last 4-6 weeks of Brain Balance), which was HUGE. His olded brother plays very well and he always seemed intimidated by his talent and has said he didn't want to learn to play because he wasn't "as good" as his brother, and out of nowhere, he just started playing a little over a month ago. We're going to start piano lessons soon. ? His final progress report shows that he's improved in practically every single area he was struggling in before starting Brain Balance. We still have a few things to work on, but we are hoping to take care of that with the home exercises. I'm thankful they offer check-ins for a year (once a month) to monitor his continued progress. Brain Balance was an answered prayer for us. It was worth every single penny. Thank you to all the coaches who invested in our boy! We are forever grateful!!! ?

Brain Balance was a Godsend for us. In 6 months of therapy, my 9 year old son was able to make significant progress on having better control over his anxiety. I have seen him transform from a kid who lived in fear everyday from anxious thoughts, to one who can reason his way through new things/places. He is happier and more confident. He struggled in speech/reading/social skills-- in all of these areas I have seen dramatic improvements. If you are looking for a holistic approach for your child, please consider this place. Reading "The Disconnected Child" written by the founder, helped me understand how and why this program works and I am so grateful for finding this place ❤️

I was absolutely amazed of the whole approach, exercises and the way the monitoring of the progress is measured as well as the pleasant changes I saw in my child. After 6 months of therapies she was able to grow in almost all areas by 5 years. I couldn't do this without them. Time won't make a difference if they are not exposed to the right exercises. Thank you for being part of my child's growth. My little one adores coach Ally!

Are there Spanish-speaking staff on site? I'm reading the book "disconnected children" and I'm shocked.

Had concerns with behavior, emotional and other items. Brain balance has really helped him. In the 7 months it has reaally helped my child with confidence, emotions and behavior. His school behavior has been significantly improved and he is able to complete tasks that are given. Brain Balance worked with the school staff as well to insure that everyone was o. the same page so that my child had better success. He is able to handle change among other things. I would recommend Brain Balance for any one who wants a non medicine approach to help there kids. The staff is outstanding all my children love the Coaches even the one who is not in the program. The staff not o ly supports the child but family as well.

I highly recommended Brain Balance. My daughter had all kinds of issues such as social, sensory, developmental delay, tantrums. The doctor suggested that she test for Autism due to her symptoms. Instead of the testing, I brought her to Brain Balance and I was so glad that I made the decision. After only more than a week, I started to see some changes in her behavior. In 3 months, she has totally changed to a different kid. Very social and love to make friends. Her motor skills have also improved a lot. She does not have tantrums anymore. Thanks to Brain Balance and the wonderful coaches.

I spent months and months researching the right program for my child. After multiple conversations with brain balance I decided it was the right program for us. We spent 6 months attending the program in the evenings 6-8 pm, Mon, Tues and Thurs. We did the exercises and some nights we just couldn’t because of our schedules. My husband who travels for work often said he never noticed the difference with our hyperactive child. His teacher often said she noticed very minimal difference with his adhd. I stayed optimistic that we had made the right decision. After the program was complete I had to reach out to schedule the follow up sessions that are 5 mins long and once done they hand you a sticky note with the exercises. If you forget to schedule the monthly check they will not reach out to you. $12,000 dollars later and all this time spent doing this program we are practically where we first started. Would I recommend this program? I cannot say I would based on my experience.

My youngest has a sensory perception disorder that affects perception of sounds, sights, temperatures and textures but most of all food tastes . We have learned to adapt to this, but as he gets older it has become more challenging. We have grown tired of having to get Whataburger (the only food he will tolerate) We have tried home exercise and speech therapy, but with minimal success. In April 2022 , we found Brain Balance and discovered some of his perception issues could be helped by sensory and motor exercises. The change was phenomenal.
He’s a good child, sweet and funny with a big heart, who would would act out when overly stimulated. He found it difficult to follow directions or complete multiple tasks (like chores or sports drills). Since Brian Balance he is so helpful around the house, significantly improved in sports and his teachers have notice he completes his work and is helpful in class. His sweet nature shines though now that he is less affected by stimulation. Food is still a struggle but he has become more open to trying new foods! We recommend Brain Balance wholeheartedly.

Brain balance was a universal sent gift that we so desperately needed. Our son is neurodivergent and suffers from epilepsy. The medication to prevent convulsions can often times cause behavioral issues in children and teenagers so we had our hands full. On top of all of that, he has ADHD and often loses focus and zones out. We were at a loss for what there was left to do. He was acting out in school, not turning in his work, falling behind and worst of all, convinced he was “dumb” and just would never understand. Our happy, sweet, loving kindergartner had lost his spark and over the years just became more downtrodden and continued to fall behind no matter how hard we worked with him or how supportive we were. It broke our hearts to, as a family, be in this situation. We made the decision to reach out to brain balance and put our faith in the reviews and studies behind the program. Since day one we have not regretted our choice. Through nutritional help, exercise and the magic they work in their gym and throughout the program we saw our 9 year old blossom into a more confident, kind and emotionally aware child. After discovering he was right brain weak, we worked very hard with the program director and all the members of the team to better help our child and help teach him ways to better help and support himself. His grades improved, his attitude improved and his overall outlook on life changed and increased. There were less to almost no arguments taking place at home or at school. He could complete his homework on his own when it used to take us all six hours a night for a five page packet (not an exaggeration). He became stronger and more clear minded so he stopped acting so impulsively. There were no more breakdowns and we even noticed that he started to have his seizures less. I’m no medical doctor and I’m now way am I suggesting that brain balance solved his epilepsy BUT, I can confidently say I believe that strengthening the way his brain communicates with itself and the body has made it easier for his mind to flow more freely instead of triggering his seizure response.
Long story short, I highly recommend brain balance. It can be expensive but after going through the program and coming out the other side with my child happier, healthier and more vibrant.. no price would have been too much for that.

Our son Gabriel experienced functional disconnect syndrome, approximately 8 years ago Brain Balance of San Antonio evaluated him and began a very well thought out program to assist him in getting his brain to neutral ( in harmony). We worked diligently every day with his exercises as a family to help him achieve his goals! After completing his Brain Balance our son has excelled in both academics, social, and athletics through out middle school and High School. Gabriel has been accepted to attend The University of North Georgia as a “Cadet” and was awarded the Hope Scholarship and a Leadership Scholarship. We are very proud of his accomplishments and thankful for his time with Brain Balance. Sincerely, The Talkington Family
