We went to get a birthday bear and ended up getting more. This was hands down one of the cleanest and most well organized and professional build a bear workshop I have ever been to - and I’ve been to many around the country. The staff was so friendly and engaging we loved it and have been back since and plan to return again! They are top notch!

Besides the outrageous high prices, it is a good place for kids. They do have birthday specials. It is conveniently located on the kids wing of the mall. Kids lose themselves in these shops so I just take them on their birthdays.

My daughter always wants to come here with the money she saved. What else can I say. It's a build a bear.

Bad customer service. We got there 30 minutes before closing and we were informed that the stuffing machine was down. However, we saw a room full of people who had just finished stuffing their animals, so it appears that their machine was just recently turned off. Then when we were browsing, they locked the door 20 minutes before closing and turned off the music. Another worker came up to ask if they could help us find anything, and we felt as if we were getting pushed out of the store. We made a special trip here for my son’s first birthday with plenty of time but unfortunately won’t be back due to their lack of professionalism and customer service.

Took my daughter to get her birthday build a bear. She is very young and wasn’t sure about much of anything. However, the associate who helped us was very kind and patient with her as she helped my daughter with the heart ceremony.

I've always loved this place. The only downfall was I hadn't been there in years and didn't know the right "order" and was not explained until I wasn't at the right spots for each section.

My sister is traveling for medical reasons and, unfortunately, has to be separated from her children. Shes finally going back to see them this weekend. She was excited to go to Build A Bear to make bears for her children, and I was excited to share with her the build a bear experience. Having worked for the company in the past, I knew how much meaning could go into the process, and I thought that this was going to be a magical moment for her. We went on a weekday around noon and were in the shop for 40 minutes. There was one associate working at the time of entry, and she was helping another guest. We were greeted with a hello, and she went back to helping the other guest. My sister went through all of the animals before she made her selection, and by the time she had decided, the other guest had already checked out, and the associate was behind the register. We walked up to the sound station and started playing with the options and waited for the next step but the bear builder didn't even look up from sorting a bag of merchandise on the counter, so we went to look at clothes. She chose an outfit for each, shoes, and accessories without being acknowledged by the associate who stayed at her station the entire time. Then, who I'm guessing was the manager came out of the backroom and gave her employee a task of making an online order. The manager passed right by us, looked at us, but didn't say a word, didnt even smile in acknowledgement...My sister's hands were full of stuff, so clearly we were not window shopping, but no cares were given. After wandering around, we went back to the stuffing station, where my sister was ready to record a voice message for her children. The bear builder thankfully stopped making the other animals to help us. She helped us to make the sounds and placed it into the animals paws. My sister was asked to step on the pedal and asked to squeeze the animals to check the stuffing, and then she was asked to pick out a heart. And then was told to put it right into the bear. NO heart ceremony!!! NO wish!! I was appalled! There were no scents available to put into the animals or beating hearts. One of the bears were stitched up right away and then the other needed a little 'extra care' so they went to the counter to sew it up. While we were dressing the first animal, another guest came in. They were two adults too, but they were greeted and walked to immediately, leaving our bear at the counter unfinished. It appeared to be the same guest that put in the online order so they were already familiar with the bear process and BOTH bear builders were assisting them whereas my sister, first time here, was practically ignored majority of her visitWhen our bear was finally finished, the manager who had finished it brought it to us and it was the first and only time she acknowledged us by saying "here you go" and went back to conversing with the other guest. My sister did the birth certificates, per my instruction, otherwise wouldve never known about it. I was also upset to see that the ID tags were clearly neglected by the team members as well...(For those that dont know, the Find A Bear ID tag is linked to rewards club members so that they can locate the owner of the bear if the bear was ever lost and found). Maybe I'm petty, or maybe I'm biased, but when I was a bear builder, it was all about the experience! We had 'make behaviors', which were key habits and selling techniques to not only make a great sale but to show ALL that Build A Bear had to offer. Certain things like the heart ceremony and the ID tag were services that were promised and therefore expected to every guest, no matter their demographic or the amount they were spending. Poor service aside, my sister dropped a good 200.00 on bears she made for her kids. I was severely disappointed with her first experience with the company i loved to be a part of! Maybe its just this location, but I just can't shake the thought of how many other people spend their money never knowing how far

The idea of having the child building his/her own toy is amazing, that helps using their imagination which every child must.
