The Coppini Academy of Fine Art is a non-profit organization that is member-run and member supported. I frequently attended open drawing sessions on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. As far as I know, it is the only place in San Antonio , outside of the Universities and colleges , that consistently offers open drawing sessions in a professional studio, using live figure models. It even has open session for portraits on Friday mornings, using live models. Additionally it offers adult classes in oil painting, for beginners, intermediate, and more advanced painters. It has classes for children through its "Coppini Kids" program, and a "master class" in drawing for kids 11 - 17. As if this isn't enough, it offers workshops for members and the public, taught by popular and world-class artists who come in from across the country. If an artist is focused on representational art, the Coppini is a great place to investigate!

Comfortable studio to paint or draw life models.... and all levels of artists fit in. There are open sessions for life drawing. There are courses taught by professional art instructions and working artists. Classic Atelier with northerner lights and other artist. .

Best kept secret in Texas! Hands down the best place to turn an average artist into a master artist! Live models Wednesday's and Thursday evening's help sharpen your skills. Classes and workshops with excellent instructors. So many good things about this place to help our member's flourish.

Lovely experience dealing with the artists at Coppini. It is a bit little tricky to find because GPS takes you to a liquor store, but keep your eyes open and you will see it.

This review is several months late. I can't say enough nice things about my experience here. I was visiting on a work trip and decided to check out their open drawing evening (Thursday) my first week. They were super welcoming, nice, and relaxed. I altered my plans so I could go back the next week as it was so enjoyable. If I lived there I would have a full membership in a heartbeat and go all the time. Wonderful atmosphere, people, resources.
