Ethan Allen is one of those furniture companies that has a recognizable name since it’s been around for a good long while. I’ve found more than one vintage furniture that shows the craftsman of the company causing me to believe that they’re crafted well, at least they were in the past. Keeping that in mind, I narrowed my choices of furniture stores down to a few, not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money (like I would have at Restoration Hardware).The sales associates/designers at Ethan Allen were generally helpful, however their knowledge of the company’s craftsmanship was lacking. I’m sure most people know that furniture has taken a deep dive over the last 10 years and it’s rare to find fashionable, really good, decently priced furniture (anti-IKEA if you will). And since I refinish furniture, I’m decently familiar with the quality of vintage pieces versus modern pieces. I went back to Ethan Allen twice before I went forward with my purchase of a sofa and both designers/associates were only able to address the basics of the furniture in selecting fabric, cushion, and leg color. I knew from research that Ethan Allen was a decent furniture company but that they were not highly rated for repairs and such.Both associates pushed the warranty, which is always concerning to me, because it’s a big up-sell. I left both times saying “no” and I’m glad I went home to research the Guardsman warranty. A little research online showed that a good number of people were highly disappointed with the warranty (which isn’t through Ethan Allen, but the furniture repair/cleaning product company). Review after review made it clear that Guardsman was more focused on NOT fixing the product and honoring the warranting than actually efficiently heading out to make that extra $400+ dollar warranty worth it. So thankfully I was able to establish that getting the sofa fixed professionally would probably be a better use of money than a wasted warranty. This doesn’t give me good-feeling vibes for Ethan Allen because it makes the company look like they’re more interested in getting your sale, but not necessarily producing a long-lasting product.Lastly, my sofa arrived early which was super exciting, but upon examination, a leg was chipped. Kind of disappointing when you’ve been wanting a new couch for a while. Could it have been the overly-energetic delivery guys? Sure. A chip in a leg isn’t the worst catastrophe to occur and is even an easy fix generally in the world of furniture repair, but I could tell by the customer service associate’s tone, this was not what she wanted to deal with. Over the next couple days I received a few phone calls that went to my spam from Ethan Allen and each time I tried to return the calls, I couldn’t reach said person or the number had a confusing path. Finally I had to call the actual Ethan Allen to get directed to the right person and she told me that the repairman would be in touch with me in the next 72 hours. I never received a phone call and the chip still exists on my sofa. But at this point, I don’t even want to deal with Ethan Allen’s fake customer service attempts. I’ll fix it at some point, but to say I’m disappointed is an understatement.Will I purchase from Ethan Allen again? Probably not, unfortunately. I think Ethan Allen was once a great furniture company beloved by many, but that reputation has slid like the rest of the industry. I’ll head elsewhere and hope my $4,000-$5,000 actually means something. My fingers are crossed that this couch is worth it because we all know that $4K is not the amount of money normal people can afford to waste.

They only answer your calls or texts until you buy something. Once they have your money, forget they even know you. San Antonio Ethan Allen….designer is David…beware

Great furniture, but service after the sale was not up to my expectations . Sent the wrong items on the order. One piece of furniture was scuffed. It was difficult and took numerous calls to get service on furniture item. The designer was awesome.

We have had a wonderful experience with Gabriela. She was patient, kind, and helped us design a gorgeous space. She was very professional and quick to respond with any questions we had. The delivery team were professionals and experienced. The customer service at Ethan Allen is amazing and would recommend to anyone. We will most definitely use Gabriela again!

Love my furniture but it was a very long wait and my delivery experience was disappointing. I was not home to take delivery (my young daughter-in-law was there unaware what the delivery fee included). The delivery men brought the bed and chest of drawers into my empty room and set up the bed but neglected to put the new King box springs and mattress propped up on the bedroom wall on the bed. My designer had assured me that delivery included this. Something so simple was neglected and I was angry that I had to come home and struggle with such a large mattress and box springs by myself.

Ethan Allen is giving my living room a makeover. The furniture is slowly coming in with all the COViD delays but its exciting to see the transformation. The delivery guys are always so professional, courteous and careful when brining in the furniture. It's always carefully wrapped and never a ding or scratch. My designer always follows up on each delivery day with a personal text to make sure the delivery went well and I'm happy with how the room is looking. It has been an amazing experience!

Ethan Allen isn’t what it used to be. I went back in 2020 to furnish my formal living room after a great experience in 2016; however, this time the design was incomplete and not what i wanted when I received my items. I did receive my items months later. Communication was not great with the designer. They didn’t come to my house like the prior time to set up my furniture when it was delivered. I had to return my leather couch because it was made poorly(a lot of wrinkles in the leather). They don’t let your return anything if it just doesn’t have the look expected. It’s common to return and try different options when furnishing a room. Just super disappointed. Won’t go back.

I wasn't aware they only do custom furniture when I walked in. I told them I'm looking for a square or rectangular dining table and all the lady did was take me to the back to look at a binder for the price. She pointed in a general direction and said they came in either maple or something other kind of wood. Definitely did not seem like they want my business at all. I guess I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Marianne provided excellent service to correct a problem I had with a carpet I purchased through Ethan Allen, but it wasn’t their brand. I’m very pleased with the process and highly recommend their products. I purchased a sectional and console table that I can’t brag enough about!

Have never stopped at EA, so I ventured in to see what they offered. Now I know why I have never bought anything and I probably never will. Customer service was good, but some items are way overpriced for the quality. Found what I was looking for at another stpre.
