“Been to this location twice in January 2024. An absolutely wonderful experience each time. Staff members greet you the minute you walk in the door with a smile on their face and IN their voice. After you're checked in, they'll direct you to the proper waiting area. One is for patients to see their doctor. Others are for labs, etc. These waiting areas are spacious and the "wait time" is not long at all. Multiple restrooms are located throughout the building. My physician created a treatment plan I am very comfortable with. I look forward to working with my new family at Gonzaba Medical Group on Bandera Road!!”

“First time there was urgent care everybody was so nice I checked with a receptionist and they asked for my identification status down then big wait very long they took us in doctors examine what was my problem and they quickly told me that I had to take some x-rays and after that I was gone and that was very nice. She is amazing and has helped me understand a little more about keeping myself healthy.She suggested cutting down on my consumption of red meat to lower my cholesterol. I was also at risk of hypothyroidism at the time in January of this year. Six months later I get my blood work done and I’m back to normal! She is kind, informative and caring of your needs and concerns. I’ve never had a long wait time and her and her staff are efficient in their care of patients. I highly recommend their practice to anyone needing new and amazing doctor.”

“PA churchwell and brown are amazing! I never like to use PAs but for them I will. Churchwell listens and understands complaints then gives different options to help. The responses on portal are fast and refills are done quickly. I've only had one issue but it was a girl that is normally not there at the front desk. I came in 10 min late after calling and was told too bad lol but despite that definitely worth the visits. I've referred multiple patients and friends they all love them and Dr sandercock.”

“I’ve gone in to see Dr. Finnie a few times now. He’s been a joy and a pleasure to meet with each time and provided me with ways of making scheduling visits much easier and with open communication channel for any concerns. His staff has been more inviting too. I wasn’t one to enjoy my doctor’s visits in the past, but it definitely makes my day better when I go to in now.Moreover, nurse Tracy is a ray of sunshine. I had a very bad experience with needles donating blood once (not at Shavano Family Practice) to the point I started to get borderline panic attacks from getting my blood drawn and I stopped being a regular blood donor. With nurse Tracy she knows how to navigate the situation. This last time I was in and out from blood work in under 2 minutes! This is quite the improvement from when this started happening a few years ago and it took almost an hour to get blood work. She’s a joy and I now look forward to coming in for a doctor’s visit when the time comes.”

“I have been visiting this Doctors office since 2008. My all time favorite is Doctor Brian Poliquin. He will take his time and sit with you to go over everything and answer all questions. I have never felt rushed or felt like a number. His manners and care for others is as bright as his eyes are. He genuinely cares about you. I have referred people to this office and tell them to make sure they see Doctor Brian Poliquin because you will walk out with a plan to good health. When you find your favorite it's very hard to ever go anywhere else. I highly recommend this office and the front desk is always friendly. Despite having a mix-up in information for my appointment, all of the employees and the nurse-practitioner herself were very friendly and helpful. “Had appt this morning at 7:45 for a follow up with bloodwork. Received a text as well as a personal call they will need to reschedule me since my provider was sick today. Thankyou for the proactive communication before I drove over, and then I received a call within ten minutes rescheduling my appointment to a different day. I see a lot of reviews saying poor service, long wait times etc. But I have been a patient over 20 years with this same practice even as it rebranded, and I try to empathize with the Office management staff AND Providers. In recent years there are WAY more patients with medical needs then providers available. The front office staff cannot control if a provider gets sick (Humans not robots, illness happens to Providers too), so they must scramble with their current massive workload to rebook a ton of appts quickly while servicing all patients who are seeing other providers concurrently. Was I disappointed I could not complete my appt., and have labs done today, yes. But, I am grateful the front office staff communicated, and were direct with expectations, and details. This IS a Monday, and an opportunity to show grace when things are not perfect. Thank you to this practice for all you do daily, because I am sure gratitude is rarely given as much as harsh criticism when ALL is not perfect. Sending good health, and light to all who may being having a cruddy Monday. Powering through the days until I can get answers during my next appointment.”
