On this particular visit I have to rate it a one star. This is the location I like to go to and all is great everytime EXCEPT on this visit. Saturday 6/15/19 I needed help on the do it yourself registers, I turned to the young lady behind me and asked for help. The look she gave me was appalling. She even did a little eye roll and exhaled as if I asked her to complete a hard task. Then I remembered what she was doing while I asked for her help. She was on her cell phone. So unprofessional! And it looks tacky. Then I asked for help from a manager. He said "no i can't help one of them can" and he points to that same young lady who was once again back on her cell. This manager is an older man, wears a yellow shirt, he is always standing at the entrance closest to produce. I did not appreciate that from this manager, he was very rude. I would love to name names on these individuals, but their name tags were all hiding their name. Go figure. HEB, please retrain the staff, being on your cell phones looks unprofessional coming from a billion dollar company.

This H-E-B is not my usual one but we were on this side of town and we decided to stop by. We did see a variety of food compared to our regular one maybe because of the Hispanic population on this side. We did get several things from the salad and package vegetable isle at half price I guess not a lot of people buy this so I took advantage and than they had a yellow coupon ended up paying cents for it. We headed towards the dog food which is what we really came here for. They didn't have the size of dog food we get for our dogs since if you get the bigger bag it comes out cheaper. I went to cashier and they overhead paged someone to the dog aisle and a young man came right away. I asked for the 50 pound bag of dog food and he said at the time they were out but if we would like he could give us a 25 pound H-E-B brand bag for free. I was a little skeptical because that was $17.00 but he said we do this so you can try our product. Wow I was very impressed definitely would be coming back to this store they go above and beyond to help you out.

This review is strictly for their deli. Majority of the menu is chicken. Officially called the flaming bird! They cook their chicken on the grill over open flame and it's pretty good. If you are looking for a deal look no further. 1/4 chicken and 1/2 chicken combos come with choice of 2 sides. With grilled onions, jalapeño and 2 tortillas of your choice. Today I got the 1/2 chicken combo. Only downfall today was the chicken took a while to finish cooking. I had an early lunch and the chicken wasn't ready until 11:45 am. I also went ahead and got an avocado for $0.58 from produce to complete my meal. 1/4 chicken combo runs you $4.99 and the 1/2 chicken combo runs you $5.99. Not a bad deal! Don't sleep on HEB deli here at the Mercado location. Plenty of parking and you need to search for the restrooms. They're not located like in other HEBs. Also since this is a smaller HEB, there is no seating area. If you're near for your lunch hour swim on by for the flaming bird combos! Get some!

This HEB always has long lines, never any baggers and I asked a cashier about ordering veggie burgers. He told me I had to go to that department and ask them to add it to their order? Ok, there are never any associates available. Also, the floral department doesn't know the name of there plants.

Okay. So it's kinda hood like here but it feels good too. You can find the appropriate fruits and veggies here. If you need to get some jewelry as a gift or for yourself there's some pretty cool pieces here. The flowers are pretty here too. Reasonable but not the cheapest but cheaper than a flower shop. So see, you can pick up jewelry and flowers for someone you love here. The bathrooms are probably much better located than they were years ago. To the front and to the right when you enter. I love that sometime they have helote in front of the store here. I think mostly when it's warm. Not here lately in December and January. But it's delicious when you can grab some here. Gas here is reasonable. Again parking here can be a B sometimes but I see some peeps have posted some suggestions. To me it's just a pain to find a spot sometimes. Too me this H-E-B is a great place to feel like your in SA. It has a lot of culture here and something I appreciate.

I usually do not shop at this store and now I have a good reason to never go back! I needed a few quick things tonight to I decided to stop at this location. Waiting in line to check out and the manager turned the light off on the lane I was in and then came around and told me I had to find another. I explained that the register lane light was on and he said I was lying. I work in retail and this man clearly is not focused on customer service! I was very tempted to just leave everything. To top off a lovely experience there was mold in the strawberries I picked up.

As far as HEB goes, this one definitely caters to a budget-conscious market rather than a selection-oriented one. Everything is skewed to the bottom end price-wise and the selection suffers a little for it but if you're just looking for basics and staples and don't want to spend a lot of money, this HEB will do the trick. The carniceria aspect is cool but I still find the meat selection lacking, especially in terms of steaks. Also, don't come to this location expecting anything organic or pasture-raised or artisan or anything of that nature. It's all just the basic, bottom line stuff with an above-average selection of hot sauces. Staff and clientele are incredibly friendly so this location is a great stop on my way home if i just need to fill in a few grocery gaps.

I love this store! I usually only buy gas, cat food and produce here. Countless times they have retrieved a large bag of Kit and Kaboodles cat food from the top shelf for me. They have very good fruits and vegetables to choose from with good prices. The parking lot is always monitored for safety. I can get huge watermelons here and beautiful tropical plants. This store gets very crowded at times, so I shop at 8am or 11pm. The restroom has always been clean when I visit. And the checkers, stockers and staff are always helpful with my questions. They have two ATM's, a filtered water dispenser, and two Redbox movie dispensers. Sometimes they have vendors who offer roasted corn on the cob, and snowcones(raspas). I can even mail my letters here and they get picked up by 2pm. The mailbox is in the front by the carts.

Was it clean? Yes.. Adequately staffed?...yes Could staff be friendlier?... It's minimum wage so my expectations are lower. Looking for some beer and supplies for father in law I felt my choices shallow or non existent here. Also felt uncomfortable with the layout of the public restroom, there is a slight feeling of disdain when I have to walk through the large swinging vinyl/plastic swinging doors to a back warehouse, especially into a single use stall... Not to thoughtful to the public. I purchased most of what I was looking for, but in this case I do miss my super Walmart as much as I hate the chain.
