If you like records (buying, selling or trading) Friends of Sound is a hidden "in plain sight" treasure. There is also another business housed here- Wearhouse- loads of jeans, jackets, accessories and CONCERT/ FAN DRIVEN T-shirts. Service here was fantastic. They will play anything you want to hear. Limited parking in rear but the great vibes here will make up for that. Had a few great conversations about music. They even had RACKS of 45s. Music and Ts were nostalgic, classic and fun. Bad Brains, Social Distortion and Misfits to name a few. NOTE inventory is constantly changing- but the smooth vibe here is not!

The guys at the front were super sweet and complimented my shirt and asked where it was from but I got nervous lol, the shirt is from the anime nana btw!! Also you guys are amazing keep doing what you do :)

They have a good amount of older records/artists. If you’re looking for older vintage stuff as well as some clothing this might be the place for you. However, I was hoping for a larger or more updated selection of rock records. By all means a solid place but not really for me.

I went to sell some Vinyl in this place , the people where friendly we'll the owner / ( white owner )whatever he is , no disrespect for the mexican owner we'll anyways I came to sell some vinyl. He looked through my albums an took 4 albums he liked the he could resale an he showed me 2 rush albums , blizzard of ozz an sunny an sunliners for 12 dollars a of course he restless them for alot more Makin almost 120 but that's not the big problem the problem was he showed me 4 albums an stole 4 albums now he shows the 4 he bought before I left the store went home to take albums off offerup went through albums an 4 to 5 are missing linda ronstadt, carinito, salsa 89, an scorpions I came back to see if he remembered who I was an he said kind of I had found all 4 albums he took/ stole. I tried to give him the benefit of the Doubt I checked everywhere at home couldn't find them . Som when I came to the store I found them I asked to speak with him he came out an asked what the problem was an I told him. Now at that time he wanted to "FIX" THE PROBLEM, there shouldn't be a problem to fix if you didn't take it we'll he wanted to give them back to me I didn't want to except them so I did leave . Yes I was upset I didn't want to disrespect the other employees , so I do Apologize.to them. Also I am saying do not take your albums here or if you do watch them do not let them out of your site , the 1st time I cam here I love the vibe. But now I will never come back to this place nobody should come to this place go somewhere else to buy or sell albums. The funny thing is , that I had talked to other record shops an they told me others had problems of him doing that an Lowballing them an also I want to sell them some more albums that I had put up but I will not be back Thank you and have a great day

This store sold me a record but canceled the order because he didnt have it when he sold it. Such Terrible customer service from the owner saying “it is what is life is hard” DO NOT BUY from here!

Really very annoying!!! Yesterday, August 1, we came to the store to sell some old records and the guy who greeted us was very kind to check our records, he checked them and separated them!! (I don't speak English but I never moved from where he was checking them) Finally, the records that he separated were put somewhere else and when my husband returned from seeing the store he said that he already had those records there ??... .IT'S NOT WHAT THE RECORDS COST BUT IT'S THE CHEATING!!!! If you go to the store to sell something, be very careful!!! I really wouldn't recommend it!!!! It's an abuse what he did to us....???

This is the best record store! owner and staff were friendly to every single person that came into the store. great prices you cant compete with honestly, a sign of true and honest business and passion!
The selection is amazing. Something for everyone! A San Antonio staple indeed. Looking forward to my next visit!

Walk and look at my long gone youth. Vast array of collections and various artists and genre. Great little stop. Even have turn table with headphones to sample your choices.
