After my Mother qualified for services- Lots of promises were made. Especially things like a proper bath not just bed baths. Yet- They Never got her out of bed. They had a bedmat delivered that was depleted so bad it was useless and had to be replaced. Then three times they wanted to put her on cheaper less helpful medications. (Depakote from Seraquil.) I had to insist that they obtain her lengthy previous medical records. Surprise surprise after seeing her records they are now discharging her after only one month! Yet not before I was being convinced by phone that she'd be on services till her life ended. They never send a second person to help the one CNA with my Mother who needs two people. Resulting in her not really getting clean from her bed. I had to cut her hair very short so she did not smell all the time. Then this Friday no supplies were delivered and the CNA never showed up. They are supposed to have her till Monday. They plan to charge Medicare for 5 days of nothing. They refused to bring supplies on a weekend. The discharge process must complete before I can interview another Hospice. We have no doubt that Good Shepherd Hospice is not a scrupulous business. It is painfully obvious they prefer drugs be given rather than skills used. Seeing that I wasn't going to let them dope my mother to being docile made them Dump her like a nobody. So sad. Good thing the facility is humane and she is being treated more respectfully by the Nursing Home Staff. I have a camera like all POAs should. Good Shepherd Hospice didn't impress my family at all. I have seen the truth on video. Shame on them.

I’m the owner of Aging Gracefully Assisted living in San Antonio and I have 3 residents on Good Shepherd Hospice service and they have been wonderful! The nurse Paige, does an amazing job with the residents. She takes her time, she listens to their concerns and is very knowledgeable and always willing to help or explain thing to them.
