Alon HEB is the nicest and best in San Antonio. It has been an interesting grocery shopping experience with unique items and food court. I've been coming for the past few years.

I visited the bakery last week looking for a cuatro leches cake. I had called ahead, and they confirmed they had one available. When I arrived, I spoke to a gentleman at the counter who told me they were out. I asked if he could double-check or if there might be one in the back, but he flatly said no without making any effort to look. His dismissive attitude left a bad impression, and I nearly walked out.
Thankfully, I decided to continue browsing and came back about 15 minutes later, and that’s when I met Gogo. What a difference! Gogo was an absolute gem—kind, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. Not only did she take the time to check thoroughly, she found the cake I had asked about. Her warm personality and professionalism completely turned the experience around.
To Gogo’s manager: please recognize this woman. She didn’t just do her job—she saved the day and ensured I walked out a happy customer. She’s a true asset to your team and deserves a raise (or at the very least, a big thank you!).

Very friendly staff - stopped to show me where I could find what needed both in general & produce dept - I was looking for pomelos & star fruit. Got me a bottle of Liberty School Paso Robles Wine- Thank You all. Also met some fine folks visiting from Chicago-Bienvenidos!

Went with my daughter to buy pizzas. We both ordered the same pizza, large all meat for family gathering. I paid extra for more Italian sausage when we arrived home. Both pizzas were identical, with no exra sausage on my pizza even though I was charged extra. This is not the first time this has happened. I've always informed my friends and family about the great pizzas this HEB makes, but after this, we are seriously considering looking elsewhere. We were all so disappointed.

I recently ordered a cake and had a wonderful experience with Emily in the bakery department. She was incredibly patient, helpful, and provided excellent customer service.

The customer service at this HEB has really taken a turn. The shoppers in this area are... challenging at times, but the crew had always made up for it. Today I was behind a dismissive shopper who didn't have enough money (three cents short) I don't carry cash or I would have offered to cover it but she just turned it over to the cashier and expected her to cover it. This whole thing was taking so long already the shopper behind me held up a single Item and said "I'm good right?" And walked out. Did she pay or leave it- no idea!
Dismissive shopper one is finally gone and it's my turn. I say Hi xxx. I get no response. I look up from my things and my cashier has a whole fist in her mouth and is picking at her teeth. Awesome. Yes. Now handle my apples. Was I the twilight zone?!

Made me leave to get my ID from home to buy Sake then when I come back I’m not even asked to show ID. How frustrating is that? Let’s get consistent with our alcohol policy please.

My favorite location but I can’t give 5 stars because they never bag my reusables right. I once had someone put my bread in my cold bag and threw all my fruits on top and all my cold stuff in a regular bag. It was very frustrating.
