If I could give this hotel a 0 I would! Some friends and I were here in town for a friend retirement. Our stay was from 8/29-31. The day of check in some friends and I had the same problem in our room it was very loud smell like the carpet was old or bad filters. We asked to be moved to different rooms because of the smells, which they did. The room that we moved to we noticed a roach. UNACCEPTABLE!!! ALSO NOTICED ROACHES IN THE LOBBY BATHROOM across from conference room. This hotel needs to be shutdown and renovated this is ridiculous and UNACCEPTABLE at this point. No matter how you try to fix the issue it still doesn't make it right. Do not spend your money here

Edit:
I am impressed with the management. The manager James personally reached out to me and made things right with my stay. I was assured that they are working on the room that I was in and invited me back to see that they take pride in making Holiday Inn's guest their top priority. I will definitely give them another chance and hope to make them our home away from home when we are in San Antonio.
Wish I had seen the recent reviews before staying here. They mentioned the room had a musty, damp smell, and Hiliday Inn responded, saying they had fixed the issue. Well they haven't. My room not only smelled musty, but it felt really musty and humid. To the point that you feel sticky and the sheets feel slightly moist. Water pressure in the shower wasn't very good. Also, the ice machine was out on the 5th floor. For charging as much as they do during the weekend and still have these problems is unacceptable.

Was in attendance for a family reunion. It’s over priced and an old structure. The bed was hard, the life of the bed pillows are gone. The coffee and fridge area; dark, not enough lights. The pic came out blurry. During checkout, we had to hand carry our bags and luggage’s to the car; guests took luggage cart to the rooms and never return the cart to the lobby. A variety of breakfast food, however, everything was warm; coffee was the hottest. Pungent odor in the hallway walking to our rooms. The ?️ sofa that let out to a bed was old. $140 a night. Won’t recommend and won’t be returning.
Rooms: Spacious What?
Noteworthy details: Cold food for breakfast, hard bed, flat pillows

Amazing service.
Especially grateful to Laura in the dining room that helped me out in the morning for breakfast. She was truly a delight to have experienced.
Also impressed with the front desk staff on the night shift.
Food & drinks: The biggest plus was how we were treated at breakfast. Laura was truly impressive. Always with a smile and help make me feel important.

We have lived in SA passing this location often but recently moved out of state. We came down to visit family and decided to stay here. The location is great, with an abundance of food and shops nearby along with seaworld. Here’s the only inquiry/complaint: There was a lingering odor throughout the lobby, elevators, the floor we stayed in as well. Comparable to a heavy damp, musty funk. We only stayed two nights, so maybe it was a temporary issue? It just seemed like the carpets were holding on to the odor/dampness wherever carpet was present.
Within our room, it was clean, no bed bugs, clean towels, clean bathroom. The tub was slow to drain, and the AC couldn’t keep up well. Condensation was heavy on the windows, and the entire room when we were in it was damp despite our keeping the AC on so sleeping was uncomfortable. Maybe this location could invest in commercial grade dehumidifiers? For how much effort was put into making this location desirable, the odor and level of humidity within the building was a let down.
Parking was tight! Again, from the high occupancy obviously. We didn’t get a chance to visit the pool but it looked like a fun time!

I alway look for a hotel that does not allow pets. This hotel says it doesn’t and it does. Very disappointed and the. The. I get a room with a barking dog.
