I toured the Inspire Downtown apartments the other day with Michelle! Her and the entire Inspire Team were so welcoming and very knowledgeable over the area at Inspire Downtown! Overall the apartment was perfect for what I was looking for and the grounds are so well kept. Highly recommend this place! Looking forward to moving in!

The Inspire costs more than what it’s worth. The amenities are excellent but the management is looking to get every penny out of you. It has especially gone downhill under Grey Star management. The late fees are the max they are legally allowed to be (10% of your rent), so expect a $200+ late fee if you happen to be late that month.

You have to accept several caveats living in any apartment complex and especially downtown in pretty much any American city, so there are several caveats that apply and I'm not judging Inspire based on those factors since they apply to all of the options a person might consider in the area.Check reviews for other apartment complexes in the area and you'll see numerous horror stories, constant car thefts and such. While there's really no 100% perfect solution to this problem, I believe Inspire's parking garage is the most secure of the options: since it's also public parking it requires payment to leave the garage or you're gated in, making actual car thefts very difficult. Reserved parking is behind another gate on the 5th floor that requires fob access for an extra level of security--thought this is pretty easy to bypass if someone is determined, like most security.Cops won't care about your car break-in if it happens anywhere, even if you have proof or security camera footage, that's just not how the system works; they have bigger fish to fry, or not fry as it were. Break-ins and thefts of items from inside your car are still possible of course but even full-time security presence doesn't really deter this in my experience.Don't leave anything of value where you can see it through your car windows. It's just the nature of downtown living in a country that doesn't provide safety nets for mental illness, addiction, and the unhoused population but makes guns cheap and plentiful for all. Yeehaw. The leasing office people are professional and quick to resolve issues. Maintenance is wonderful and fast.Street noise is pretty chill for a downtown but it's there. People are going to have fun at the roof-deck pool and play music. Anyone complaining about noise but chooses to live downtown should probably re-evaluate living anywhere downtown.Location is great, especially with the recently finished improvements to the San Pedro Creek Linear Park and with the Alameda Theater soon to re-open. Highly walkable. The downsides essentially are stuff the complex and staff can't do much about and will be just as bad or worse in other downtown apartment complexes. The rest is good and pretty high quality across the board. If you have realistic expectations, this is a solid choice.

This is an excerpt of a letter I sent to Greystar management entities in charge of Greystar properties at Inspire Downtown, San Antonio, on September 18, 2023 certified mail. The letter addresses security concerns of tenants at Inspire Downtown and included signatures from more than 30 Inspire Downtown residents. To date, October 11 2023, 3 weeks later, I have received no response."On August 30th, due to residents' escalating concerns for the safety of their persons and the security of their personal property at Inspire Downtown, 100 N Santa Rosa Street, San Antonio, Texas, residents held a tenants meeting to address these escalating concerns. The meeting was attended by 30 plus residents in person, and multiple residents unable to attend the meeting in person have likewise voiced concerns. Following that meeting, I am writing you."I, a resident of Inspire, Downtown, 100 N Santa Rosa Street, San Antonio, Texas, 78207, believing security failures and issues at Inspire Downtown pose an immediate risk to my personal welfare and safety and to the security of my personal property request the following security failures be remedied and corrected immediately:"RESIDENTIAL SECURITY & SAFETY ISUES:"Doors on Santa Rosa Street which currently do not close or secure properly be repaired.Door on Commerce Street leading into loading zone with elevator access to residential areas which currently does not close or lock properly and which has a broken fob access be repaired.Fifth floor parking garage door to residential stairways that is currently not secure or functional be repaired.Fob access be installed on doors leading from garage to residential stairways and hallways. Cameras be installed over interior hallway stair doorways on all residential floors.Cameras be installed above elevator doors in residential hallways on all residential floors. An audit of all doors with access to building interiors from street and garage areas be carried out to check operation -- and repairs made to any that are not functioning properly or secure. (If residents comparing notes at a tenants' meeting can name at least four unsecured entry points into the building and residential areas, it is likely there are more in disrepair.)More dependable security camera monitoring be employed than one office worker with other office duties sporadically able to monitor cameras during daytime office hours."Pursuant to Tenant Renters Rights in the State of Texas, I have the right to demand that a landlord repair any condition that materially effects my physical health or safety. I believe the above safety and security issues meet that description and ask that you make a diligent effort to remedy these issues within what can be defined as "a reasonable period of time" after receipt of this letter. According to the State of Texas, a reasonable period of time is seven days:"Texas Renter's Rights: texasattorneygeneral.gov…"The value of loss of personal property, cumulatively, at Inspire Downtown in San Antonio Texas over the course of the last six months in thefts in the parking garage, storage areas, and residential areas, is in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. More concerning than loss of property is escalating thefts in residential hallways and thieves' prevalent use of building stairways, especially South Tower stairways, with thieves taking packages and mail directly from residents' doors, both during daytime and nighttime hours, and unpacking stolen packages in stairways residents use to move between floors. This poses a risk to residents' safety and it is, I believe, only a matter of time before a face to face confrontation between a thief and resident occurs, either in residential hallways, outside a resident's door, or in a building stairwell. "This is not a case of if. It is a case of when. And a face to face confrontation has the potential to escalate to violence, injury, and loss of life for a tenant...."

Inspire Downtown is a great place to live! The professionalism that I have experienced with the leasing staff and management (Michelle, AJ, Suede, and Tammie) has been quite impressive. They really go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Michelle assisted me with the move-in process and was super friendly and helpful. The maintenance team always responds quickly and in an efficient manner. The cleaners are hardworking and keep the hallway on my floor and the rest of the common areas looking pristine. I highly recommend Inspire Downtown!

Beautiful apartment and utilities. Maintenance is also great and quick to respond. However, the leasing office is unorganized and unfriendly. I paid $135 a month to get the secured parking, only the have my car broken into. I told a young woman at the leasing office about this, so that they could look at the security cameras and let others in the building know. When I checked back in a few weeks later, the leasing manager had heard nothing about it. Keep in mind, I also reported this to Grey Star. I did not get the feeling that the staff cares about residents safety. Also, while the pool is beautiful, it is often overcrowded on weekends with people who are not residents and blare music. Not sure how these people are getting in?Overall, the apartment was great, but it is not worth the cost and the consistent additional charges. Especially for the lack of security in downtown San Antonio.

I’ve been a resident at Inspire for 2 years now and it’s been a 5 star experience up until recently. When I first moved in, we were told that we could validate parking for visitors up to 60 hours a month. This was a great benefit to have and the process was seamless. Unfortunately, the building recently upgraded their parking system and has taken away this benefit from the residents, leaving us with no options to let our visitors park for free. The leasing office also went about taking this benefit away in silence and never formally communicated this to the residents directly, leaving us having to find out the hard way. When inquiring about alternatives, they could only offer paying for an additional parking spot ($80/mo) for another vehicle which has to be registered in their system because the new system reads our plates to open the gates. Seeing how this option wasn’t viable as I have different visitors come all the time (in different vehicles), I’m left with no choice but to force my friends and family to pay for their parking now. What was disappointing was how the leasing office left us in the dark as we complained about it and has not acknowledged our dissatisfaction with the new changes.Future renters beware, besides the parking situation, our complex has also been experiencing a lot of theft. Amazon packages stolen in the hallways. Cars and storage units being broken into. And, just like the parking, the leasing office has left us in the dark as the residents continue to escalate their concerns. It’s gotten to the point where residents are organizing community meetings to discuss these issues, with several residents on board.I used to love living here, however this is no longer the ‘luxury’ apartment complex I moved into two years ago.

I have lived here less than a year. This place could be an awesome place to live. The location is great, and my view is unmatched. However, Greystar does a very poor job of maintaining the building and community rules.Michelle and Adrianna are two of the best at what they do! Thanks to Michelle and Adrianna for all they do! The community events they plan are always amazing. The Inspire Maintenance team is superb! You will NOT find a better maintenance team in San Antonio. Some of the major issues in this Pet Friendly Apartment is the fact that there is no breed or size limitation. There doesn’t seem to be any policy in place that holds pet owners accountable for the behavior of their pets. Disadvantages of living at the Inspire with lack of policies:• My floor smells of dog urine. You can see the dozens of dog urine spots throughout the hallway. It's been this way for months. The area around the "Tower" elevator smells like a homeless camp.• It is not uncommon to find dog feces in the hallway or in the paid parking area of the 5th floor.• Dogs are frequently in the swimming pool.Other issues with Greystar are the lack of policy or accountability for people who have parties on the amenity deck. I have lived here for less than 9 months and there have been no less than 15 parties that have carried on up to 5:00am. You can call the Inspire number and request security assistance however, they will do nothing. A few of the responses I received from the Greystar customer service people included:1. Are you mad that you weren’t invited?2. Why not join the party instead of complaining3. Unless your life is in danger, we cannot do anything.I have seen residents confront partiers and this seems very dangerous to me. I have also seen young men jumping on the patio furniture while showing off their pistols. Additionally, residents will have huge parties almost every weekend. It is not uncommon to find parties as large as 30 guests taking over the amenity deck. The other issues that you will find while living at the Inspire is the lack of secure entry points and overall security. To be fair these issues are not unique to the Inspire however, there are a few simple things that Greystar could do to improve in these areas. Some areas of secure entry point concerns are:1. There is a mailroom door that does not always lock. This is a big concern. When the loading dock is being used the doors are left open and anyone can walk into the resident only areas of the building through the mailroom door.2. The side entrance on Houston Street behaves in the same way as the mailroom door. You can sometimes get into the resident only area of the building because the lock does not always work.3. The resident exit door at the front of the Inspire will “stick” to the floor and not close. Anyone can walk in the main doors and walk into the resident only area.4. The parking garage has gates that should remain closed from the evening to morning however, the gates have not worked for months. This means that homeless people and thieves have easy access to your vehicles and personal property. During this period many cars have been broken into and vehicles have been stolen. To be fair, this issue is not exclusive to the Inspire however, if Greystar were to do a better job securing the building, things could be better.5. Your packages will get stolen from this secure building. Again, to be fair this could happen anywhere even in the most exclusive neighborhoods however, if management maintained the entry points of the resident area and placed cameras in the hallways, this issue could be reduced.6. Residents do smoke weed and cigarettes in the elevators. In closing, the Inspire could live up to the vision ownership had for this place but Greystar is failing miserably. Maybe the owners should find a better Property Management company to bring back the “upscale” history of the Vistana!

I have lived here since January of 2023 and have never had more negative experiences living in an apartment building. The theft INSIDE of the building is terrible. I have had a package stolen from my front door and even with ring camera footage of the man, nothing from the management team has been done about it. Theft is a constant problem with numerous tenants and we are all getting extremely frustrated. There are cameras up around the building but either they do not work or they are not being monitored. CONSTANT car break ins inside of the parking garage. We pay to park in a parking garage but it is NOT secure and would be just as "safe" parking on the street. The garage doors that are supposed to come down at night haven't worked in months. The gates to get in have been open for weeks allowing any one and everyone to park in the garage for free. Even the storage units are getting broken in to. The over all security of the building is trash.Other annoyances include but are not limited to:- all guests of tenants have to pay to park- constant plumbing problems- BATS. There are no screens on the windows so if you want fresh air in your apartment, expect company.- false fire alarms. Sometimes with no follow up from the management team. At this point if an alarm goes off, I am assuming its false or a drunk person pulled the alarm in the middle of the night. Real safe.- Sketchy neighbors. People are allowed to Airbnb their units so you never know who is wandering the halls.- The "dog park" is just a giant piss pad that is nauseating. My dog refuses to step paw on it.- There are only 2 elevators that go down to the 1st floor and they are constantly down for repair.- The complimentary coffee station is down for repairs more often than not.- Maintenance and housekeepers seem to change frequently.- Fiesta. Don't plan on leaving your apartment. You won't be able to get back in. The evening parade runs right in front of the building, and all streets to get home will be closed. There is no security during Fiesta festivities (or ever for that matter). Unwanted people off the streets are able to get into the building causing chaos in the elevators and on all of the residential floors. The majority of tenants I have gotten to know since moving in, are not renewing their leases. At this rate, I wont be either.

Living here has been a wonderful experience, it is a very safe building with lots to do within walking distance. Michelle has been nothing but a joy to be around, as she always makes sure the residents are taken care of.

My fiancé and I moved in together and felt that the Penthouse was the best option for us. Michelle, AJ and Suede have been wonderful to work with as they helped us transition from the 10th Floor up to the Penthouse. We love the community the Inspire brings and the staff are wonderful and accommodating. We hope to stay here as long as we can!

Recently moved out from the apartments and left with many friends and a perspective that San Antonio is indeed a cultural city based on community and love to one another. Management does a VERY good job keeping up with events and is very attentive to all aspects of the building. I’m very thankful for everything Inspire Downtown keep up the good work.
