Massage was ok, but nothing great. I’ve had MUCH better for the price. I did expect a little more considering we paid $641 for the couples CBD massage. This massage package claims to incorporate hot stones, however the masseuse only used the hot stones for maybe 2 minutes. I also don’t like that the fact that a 21% gratuity is included on the check. What incentive is there for the masseuse to perform their best work if they know at minimum they are receiving at 21% tip? Definitely wouldn’t return.

Spa amenities were great but the actual services done were too pricey for what they were. My massage was horrible but the facial made up for it. Other than that, the staff was friendly.

I had a massage and pedicure for my first visit to the spa. The services were phenomenal. Probably the best massage I’ve ever had and everyone was extremely friendly. They could’ve done a lot better on maintaining the women’s locker room area. The available shower stalls had used wet towels in them. No hand towels at the sinks and restroom stalls out of toilet paper. They did seem to be short staffed so giving them grace there.
This is just a ‘me’ thing but didn’t realize it’s clothing optional in the amenities area. Not a fan of sitting with naked strangers in the whirlpool, steam room or sauna so we didn’t take advantage of those. That’s the only reason I likely won’t go back.

I spent $250 for the worst massage of my life. Save your money and go to a strip mall, because I will have to spend money on ANOTHER massage after that experience. I found out at the end that gratuity is included in your bill, so the staff must use that as an excuse to do a shoddy job. They also told me they would give me champagne when I walked in, and that never happened either lol. I will not be returning.

2/2 times I’ve been here have been turbulent and unsatisfactory. Last time it seemed as though “policies” were what prevented staff from providing the best service and that the staff was actually doing their best. This time the staff themselves talked harshly to me and tried to gaslight me about when I came in. One girl said she’d overheard me making my appointment on the phone with another staff member but I didn’t want to argue with them any longer to tell them that I was never even on the phone with anyone one and neither was the employee I spoke with while she was talking to me. I don’t know if she mistook me for someone else or deliberately said some that didn’t happen but the energy of the staff was starting to feel attacking and hostile. After having been stressed by them enough already, I told them to please send whatever fees my way and that I had to go. The place is decently arranged and products are fairly nice here, I remember the first massage was even good, the second one of course never happened…although I expect to pay for it after what all was spoken by staff. After the way I was treated today, I’m not sure I’d be willing to go back which is sad because of how much I’ve enjoyed staying at the hotel. But if I want a spa experience while I’m staying at the hotel here I suppose I’ll just have to take the river walk to another spa with a more professional, accountable, and kind staff.

I recently purchased the Mokara Relax & Renew package, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. My first service started at 8 AM with a wonderful massage. However, things took a turn when I got into the jacuzzi afterward. To my dismay, the filter cap was full of hair, and there were what appeared to be food crumbs all over one of the steps. This was first thing in the morning, which makes it even more concerning. As someone who is very particular about cleanliness, especially hair, this was a big turn-off. I quickly got out and went to the sauna and steam room, which, thankfully, were much better.
Afterward, I headed to the lounge to prepare for my next service. I waited for 15 minutes past my appointment time without any communication. Just as I was about to call, the manager came in to inform me that my aesthetician was running late due to a car accident. I was relieved to hear that she was okay, and I agreed to push my appointment back to 10:30 AM and move my lunch to 11:30 AM. However, the facial I received was far from satisfactory. It felt rushed, the room was freezing, and the aesthetician repeatedly put the brush up my nose. She even got cleaning solution in my eye. Despite her adding "extra stuff" because she felt bad, the service was still under 50 minutes, and the one blackhead I had on my forehead was still there. I had to ask for an additional blanket, and it took forever for her to find one.
The hotel and my lunch, however, were excellent. The Avocado toast was amazing, and the grilled chicken Caesar salad was very good. But when I went to check out, I was surprised to see that there was no adjustment to my bill. Despite the issues with my service, there was no proactive effort to compensate for the inconveniences. It wasn't until I spoke up that I was given a mere $37 off a nearly $500 bill—laughable, considering the circumstances.
It's incredibly disappointing when businesses fail to take responsibility for their shortcomings. Unfortunately, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth, and I will not be returning to this spa.

Came to “relax” as they call it
I see they don’t really care about the bad reviews or care if you enjoy the experience by looking at the other review responses they tell people who had a horrible time to come spend more money lol how funny is that
Go to la cantera spa it’s better
The valet was stressing me out when I got there was mad mumbling under his breath had me worried about my car by telling me he don’t drive manual transmission then getting in it to drive it ! Then the spa issues I woke up w back pain which is strange and the hot tub wasn’t working on the ladies side and since I had no swimsuit on property I was denied a key to get to rooftop one after checked out by the ladies at the top so I talked to the people at checkout and finally after a struggle I was giving a key card to the rooftop by then I was so frustrated I just went home

NOT WORTH THE MONEY, no where near a 5 star spa, nail salon is overpriced for what it is, saunas and steam rooms are like the ones u use at a gym and my boyfriends massage wasn’t great and the lady had rough callused hands. The staff who greeted us were not nice or accommodating and I would never recommend this spa.

Relax, Reflect, and Refocus was the purpose of my visit on 3/13/2024. I was able to do exactly that!! This was my first visit since the pandemic, and I’m not sure why it took me so long to get back and experience the Mokara! The massage from Cesar was exceptional from start to finish. The pressure was perfect and the ambiance was exceptional. My appointment was at 1pm, but I checked in at 9am and enjoyed the amenities (whirlpool, steam room, sauna, and relaxation lounge) before my appointment. I stayed until 6 pm enjoying the serenity and relaxation. I was able to reflect on all the todo lists of the many areas I divide my time. I have never had the opportunity to just sit and quietly reflect. I now have a refocused outlook to organize daily todo lists to accomplish all I need to do to successfully address the various areas in my life.Donte, the Spa Concierge was attentive while also not too attentive to allow for time to relax. Hubert, the Spa Director, came by after the service to check-in.I love the complimentary valet parking available so I don’t have to worry about finding parking downtown.Overall, from start to finish, it was an incredible 9-hour spa day full of relaxation, reflection, and refocus!

Such a relaxing place of peace from the eucalyptus steam room, dry sauna, and relaxation room to the candlelit hot tub with a secluded balcony overlooking the Riverwalk...and that's not including the services they offer. Highly recommend the summer rain polish & massage!!
