Website is vERY confusing. Different ways to send either to foreign banks or a MG site. HOWEVER not clear on the amount of time it takes receiver to get the money--it kept changing. Finally kind of got through the forms and it wouldn't let me continue unless I scanned a QR code or follow a link. Since I was using a computer--not a phone ap, there was no way to continue the process. I don't do money things on my cell phone and neither does the every one in the world.

Moneygram Sucks! Don't even deserve any stars. I have been banned from Moneygram just because the lady at the counter messed up my transaction and when I called customer service, they didn't have an answer and said you won't be able to use moneygram no more. My brother in law who is a student in the US used moneygram to receive an international money transfer to pay for his tuition fees and was not allowed to withdraw his money because he did not have an SSN which is normal for an international student, no form of identification was accepted, knowing that we called moneygram prior to this transaction to enquire about what form of ID was accepted to withdraw the money and they answered us that his passport was sufficient. When we called customer service, they didn't even bother to help us with this as their only answer was that he needs a SSN. Now the money transfer was canceled and we lost the $150 fees we paid moneygram to transfer the money, and he missed the deadline to pay his tuition fees and was billed a penalty fee to his school. They're a complete scam, don't ever use moneygram, terrible service.

Do not what so ever use their services. Go to usps or your local bank. They will charge you so much more even when it shouldnt be that difficult and hold your money for wks. All with excuses if you can actually get in touch with them. Forget in person agencies they are useless and just one more reason not to use. Walmart they are crooks and frauds. A moneyorder should be able to be replaced at the agency you got but at since so many identity checks are in place with not additional fee just like usps would do. I have the orginal money order tab and reciept. But no. 2 days many phone calls they want me to pay over a 100 and wait weeks to get a replacement. Im reporting to the us fraud and business department. Imagine christmas. A sick child, down a car and than what little you saved to get it now being held by a company that wants to take a big part plus maybe you get it in 30 days. I cant even

I want to tell you about my HORRIBLE experience with MoneyGram! My situation with covid, being far away from my country and time limits brought me to idea to use MoneyGrams service. By that time, I couldn't even image the level of physical, mental stress, pressure and financial loses I am gonna go though! First, MoneyGram said that the limit per month as well as per transaction is 10,000$. My parent sent me exactly 9,999$ to pay for my tuition in university. The deadline of with was in one week. MoneyGram took my money so easily, after 30 min the transfer was already available to pick up from as they say "any location". No, and biggest no again! I called 10+ Different MoneyGram locations around Miami (and let me add that I live in Miami; not in a small town but in biggest FL megapolis). Non of these locations been able to give me my money. Some said that the limit is 5000, some said 2000. Why nobody told that before, why there is no information about that on the site or app? Second, I called and spoke to call center of the MoneyGram for at least 6 times. Every time I called, different assistants said different things. One said to go to any location and ask them to request money to be prepared for me for pick in next day. I was in three that said to me that they cannot do so. Another one said to request to put money in a bank account, after what my parent's request to do so was declined without saying the reason. Then another one said to go to the Walmart that is available to give me this amount of money. But when I came, the assistant said he needs my address in printed physical copy with original signature from the landlord. Sorry but what? Why? Why I need to provide my personal information that was not required while we sent the money? But as I had no choice and I wanted to finish this nightmare I said that I will come back with it. After what he said that even if I will, he will not be able to give me money. As there is some sort of difficulties from federal government thing. Again, why? Why MoneyGram took my money if they cannot give it to me? Third, when I could not find any way to receive my money, I decided to cancel the order. My parent went to the location back in my home country to cancel it and when she called to the call center, they said that the system doesn't respond and she need to call later. By that time I had only one day to pay for my tuition. Then bank assistant almost begged the call center to give her a cancel code for more than 40 minutes and finally she got it. Conclusion, week of stress, horrible costumer services, money on gas to drive to all of these non-existed and unavailable location, cancelation with no fee return, late tuition payment with late fee from university. Thank you, MoneyGram, for your wonderful services!!! After that it is no more for me but "get scammed in 15 minutes service"!!!

I would give them a zero if I could. I tried to send money to a friend in another country and their system cancelled my transaction. Then, when I got on chat to ask about it, they closed my account. WTF? No explanation. Terrible customer service. Will NEVER use and will tell my friends to avoid them. Hello Venmo, here I come!

I work in the post office and we are partnered with moneygram. Its horrible. Problems are always coming up with accounts when they have no reason to and it's extremely stressful because the customer always blames us, even though it's MoneyGram. The technical support team is quick to answer the phone but probably because they always just send you to another number to call. I end up running in circles and getting no where. They will tell me to call my store's help line when the issues I'm having have nothing to do with them and there is no way for them to fix it on their end. I've had a lot of customers who are trying to get refunded money because the person They sent to couldn't receive it (for whatever reason) And it will say it's been received (when it HASNT) and it's a fight To get it back. Seriously, don't deal with MoneyGram. Go somewhere else.

Bad, bad, bad, bad. If there is lower than 1 point, I will give it. Worst customer service I ever had in my life. To get my transferred money, I had to go to 7 banks and finally I got my money in bills that is garbage and no one wants to take it even the bank that I got them from they do want to take them back. I will never use there service back ever.

I've been using MoneyGram for years to send money to my sponsor family in Kenya, but my last transaction was just cancelled and my profile deleted for no reason. You would think, with competition from companies like Venmo, that MoneyGram would be doing everything in their power to retain their existing customers... Is this some form of corporate suicide? I know I'll never use their service again!

Don't waste your time sending money through them. Western Union is way better. Used for the first time, they charged my account immediately and gave me a referenc number. I shared the reference number with my receiver. He was not able to get the money since Moneygram folks had canceled the transaction while my account is still charged. called them up to see what is going on. Was told they decided to cancel with no logical explanation. They told me my funds would go back into my account within 3 days ( why not immediately like when you charged the account?? I guess wouldnt be bad for them to keep my money and most likely so many others for several days to collect interest on them). They are super fast to get the money, but super slow to return. Looks like fraud to me. Would never use their horrible service again!!!

Money gram is a joke I send some money got an email telling me the transfer has been sent but 10 minutes later I get another email saying the transaction was cancelled doesn't even give a reason why it got cancelled I've been trying to get a hold of someone but no luck I've send a bunch emails but no one has replied now I'm waiting for my refund it's frustrating when a company doesn't care about it's customers that's y I'll never use moneygram ever again and I suggest no one else uses there services either

Awful company. Used them on numerous occasions until they suddenly inexplicably blocked me from using them again and would not say why. A while later I got interrogated over the phone by the police. Still don't know what I had done to deserve this treatment. Their loss. Avoid.
