This is the worst place to buy. I bought a powerhouse and bought the warranty. I had problems and they charged me $60 and then $90 and they didn't fix anything. I came to bring it back and they wanted to charge me $60 again. This place to buy machinery with warranty doesn't pay much attention.

I always enjoy going to the loop 410 store. The staff is always helpful when needed and store is usually well laid out and stocked.

I purchased a chainsaw this year 2025 along with the northern tool extended protection plan for accidents and mechanical issues. Before the manufacturer warranty was finished. my chainsaw failed. I dropped it off at their repair department and they asked me to call the extended warranty to open a claim. The extended protection plan people insisted on me telling them why it wouldn't turn on, I stated I didn't know, They kept giving me scenarios of possible cause like if I had dropped it, I said it has fallen on me but I'm not sure that was the cause of it. Then they said they couldn't cover it because I did not say I had dropped it from the beginning. Northern tool then calls me a few days later and tell me the cylinder and piston were scored and that's the reason it didn't want to start. I called the extended protection plan number again and told them that. They asked me how did the cylinder get scored, I said I don't know, maybe I accidentally mixed the oil and gas wrong. They said now they'll definitely will not cover it because I had changed my story. I will definitely never purchase at Northern Tool again, they were no help. By the way, the manufacturer (Stihl) wouldnt cover it because I had put a piece of tape on a bare wire just for caution, not related to the problem. Lowes & Homedepot are better options and less expensive.

Today i tried this place for the 3rd time for Stihl chainsaws. They do not have inventory. Ever. They are a waste of time. They never have products in stock. Try another stihl distributor.

I purchased a trimmer (Item# 6049972) back in April but did not use it until today, Big Mistake. I staterted it an the trimmer and I was able to operate it for about 10min and then it stopped working. Have not been able to get it going since then. Called up Northern Tool to have the trimmer checked out at a local repair shop and they told me it has a one month warranty and that I am out of luck.

Dropped off equipment per the warranty over two months ago. Zero communication. Zero progress. Zero customer service. Only updates are when I call and play phone tag with that department. Horrible experience and it still hasn’t finished yet.
