This was my first time to Petco. Actually we went to the animal hospital Vetco, which is in Petco. Tbh the reason I chose Vetco was the special they
offered which was Free First
Exam for new patients. Our 13
y/o Pomerat had some issues
going on that became concerning enough to seek
advice from a vet. In between
disability checks we were
concerned about how we
would pay for a vet even an
office visit/exam alone was impossible @ this time. I googled low cost/discount vet services & the first to pop up was Petco pet store & supplies. Knowing they are a household, well known name I passed it up the first time. Really didn't even know they had animal hospital services in the same bldg, much less an on site Vet. There wasn't any good offers/discounts or specials on rest of page so I scrolled back to top of page & clicked on Petco. I found the location closest to me which was the Ingram & 410 location. I inquired about the special free first exam. It was very fast and hassle-free. I put my email and some profile information name address etc a little bit about my dog & history and the problem. Right away they emailed me my coupon for a free first exam & made my appt for the very next day. I have to tell you that
Dr Busterd and her assistant were so awesome. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a very friendly reception of our pet & us. Within 2 mins. we were put in an exam room & the assistant came in & asked questions, very friendly, professional & made me feel like I'd known all of them for years. When Dr Busterd came in she literally introduced herself and sat with her legs folded under her on her knees from the floor looking up to us & talking to us the whole time. So down to earth. I've literally never had a Dr anywhere of any kind take that approach, treating us as equals & part of our dog's treatment plan. Not talking down to us about what we did or didn't know. She & her staff were compassionate & listened to all we had to say & told us everything that there was to tell. Answering all questions & laying everything on the table without saying 'you can't afford this or this is going to be so much more money'- nothing like that. She laid the facts out & explain to everything that she said he needed. Then gave us a printout of everything she felt was needed for our pet. Very honest about tests & exams possibly needed to determine what exactly was going on with our dog & what was best for HIM. She's very transparent. Nothing to hide but gives you every option available to her. You can tell her love and compassion for animals by the way she treats them and their owners. I really loved this place I would recommend it to anyone and I will be going back. She didn't just blow us off when she found out we didn't have money for anything. Our pet still went home with some antibiotics just to start the journey. And give us a little time to figure out what it is we choose. No pressure. My husband and I absolutely love love love this place.

I arrived around 215 to take advantage of the Happy Hour deals they have. I WAS TURNED DOWN DUE TO NO AVAILABILITY. There wasn't any other customer when I got there. No line!!! Why advertise Happy Hour when then?! It was a waste of my time. I drove the Austin Hwy location to be turned down from them too. DISAPPOINTED!!!

Store used to be awesome. Now I have to say it sucks. I asked for help twice only to get attitude and no straight answer. The question, where can I find this particular dog bed. The answer I received, the first.... It's in the back of the store. The second, yeah you have to go to the front by the register. Absolutely trash response. I kindly put back the 400 plus dollars worth of items and will just drive to the pet smart off of Evers And 410.

Where do I start??? One day, I earned a free grooming (you have to get your pet groomed so many times and then you earn a free grooming). I took my dog for his appointment and after waiting at the desk for about 10 minutes, a lady comes out and gets my dogs name then says she has to go check with the groomer. I’m like…ok…I don’t know what’s going on but ok. She comes back with the groomer and the groomer says you are late but i’ll go ahead and groom him but next time you need to let somebody know you’re going to be late. I said, “normally I’m on time, I had my appointment time mixed up so tbh, I thought I was early” but I apologized thinking that would be the end of it but she kept repeating me needing to let someone know that I’m going to be late to the point where she seemed a little aggressive with me. So I asked for a manager. The manager came over and I was like hey, my dog has been coming here for 4 years and I’ve never had an issue but today the groomer seems to be in a bad mood and I don’t want her being aggressive with my dog like she is being with me. He assured me my dog will be fine so I left. I came back to pick him up and she was trying to charge me for the free groom. I explained that I never pay for his free groom or else it wouldn’t be free and that’s what I was redeeming today. She said don’t worry about it so I left. I tried to book his next grooming and kept getting an error message. She blocked me. Not only did she block me from that location, I can’t book at any Petco and corporate wont fix the issue and neither will the store. How can an employee be the aggressor and I get the punishment and she’s not even a manager!!!!! So they just let the employees make management decisions. If there was something I didn’t understand about the grooming fee, she should have called a manager over to explain why I was being charged but instead she didn’t even have the respect to tell me in person that she was going to block me. I had to find out months later! This was the worst customer service experience I have ever received from Petco the store and it’s corporate office. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau!

Extremely horrible customer service today from the grooming salon employee and specifically the dog trainer carrie.Not a welcoming employee at all also was very condescending and told another employee in front of me a lie about a question I had .Extremely unprofessional unacceptable behavior from your dog trainer carrie.Work on your customer service.
