Horrible customer service, specifically put my husbands name as pick up, my name somehow ended up as the pick up. No big deal cashier says it happens all the time. Come in store to see what issue was, cashier helping another customer, then blurts is it Houston? I asked him if it was under another name. Like ma’am continue helping the customer in front of me, then let’s engage. Like why are you putting people in our business. Like who needs to know my name. So she rudely puts the bag up. We have agreed it’s my order, she keeps babbling the process to show me the device with the order then taps it. If it happens all the time and I told you it was me then why the extra clarification. Called immediately spoke with manager, just a frustrated sigh after I informed him my issue. No apology or even a sorry you feel this way just a “I’ll talk to her” like what do you guys have to be paid to enjoy your jobs? Seriously and actually she was being rude to the customer in front of us to think about it, she had to tell her like ma’am you’re not even listening to me. She was my same race so now I feel you just don’t have the customer service for AA customers. Hmmmm shame on you. Walking out the person behind us got a lovely friendly greeting. Oh and never checked IDso if you want to use someone’s card unauthorized go see this cashier she is just going to give you the order.

I recommend the Vet Clinic in that store. The staff care about the animals, know how to calm down frightened pet and can educate their "parents". Really appreciated that the vet was willing to order a sedative BEFORE my cat's appointment.

Decided to walk in and look at the fishes.
Saw this guy struggling and staying on the bottom
Noticed the water bubbler or whatever it’s called was barely working.
When I would splash the water the fish would try to swim
Workers definitely aren’t checking on the fish

Vet hospital is 5⭐️!!
Petco Bathroom? Let me elaborate: As one enters the room, Freddy the cockroach 🪳 is there to greet you. My wife says both stalls are equipped with paper bags in the tampoon receptacle. It's such a homey vibe.. The small stall door latch has a luscious coating of grit and grime as you lock it. Then the toilet seat has a bilateral coating of a textured substance. Yes....what a lovely experience you think as u say goodbye to Freddy.

I scheduled a grooming appointment, got to the store on time but there was a line. Once i got to the the front they told me since i’m now late bc the line took 15 minutes my appointment was cancelled and i was considered late so I would have to pay an extra $10 fee. After i explained i wasn’t late I was waiting in the line they said it doesn’t matter. Disappointed I had no problem waiting in the line but it’s not my fault it took them 15 minutes to check in the other people

Good selection, if you can find what you are looking for. The store gets junkier with every visit. Very similar to other national retail chains that have closed their doors. Think Bed Bath & Beyond and many others.

We had an appointment at noon. When we dropped our dog off, they told us it would be 2-3 hours!!! We came back by the store about 3pm. They said that he was 'still drying'. About 5 minutes later, they brought him out, sprayed him with something, trimmed his nails, sprayed him again and put on a bandana. I honestly do NOT think he was bathed, because he was shedding like crazy by the time we got home. I think he was put in a kennel when we dropped him off and when we came back, they trimmed his nails. So, I paid for WAY more than we got, and my dog was NOT treated very well. We will NEVER use grooming services at Petco, again.

Mostly, we like this pet store. But, on this visit, we were there to purchase a new oranda goldfish friend for our tank. Unfortunately, we found dead fish in the oranda tank and another tank as well. This gave us concern about possibly purchasing a sick fish. We ended up purchasing our new fish from another store.

The store was clean and the employees are very friendly and customer attentive; however, they have a lack of knowledge about the animals they are selling. The corporates should be held accountable for not providi g the training and educating them about said animals.

I have frequented this Petco for several years because I used to live in the area ( Vance Jackson and DeZavala ). On 05/28/2024 I had a hair appointment and it’s nearby so I stopped by and bought my dog a new leash which he needed. I walked to the checkout area and there were two employees who kept on chatting away while I was waiting for like 2-3 minutes with no other customers around. They both saw me because I walked right past them. Finally, a woman walks behind the counter…does not say hello or even acknowledge me, rings me up and I always donate at least $2… says nothing still lays my receipt on the leash and I just walk away. She was the rudest person I have encountered and I will never visit that location again. Sometimes ignorance and being treated in such a manner speaks louder than words. Please hire pet and people friendly staff Petco on 12651 Vance Jackson or you will lose customers.
