Our Experience with R and L Auto Group (San Antonio, TX)
Just a heads-up to anyone thinking about buying from R and L Auto Group in San Antonio — our experience has been extremely frustrating, and I want to share it so others know what to look out for.
We traded in our Mustang on October 18th, and were told the dealership would pay it off within 20 days (Texas law allows up to 25 days, which would be November 12th). As of now, our bank still hasn’t received the payoff check, yet the Mustang has already been re-sold, meaning we’re still making payments on a car we no longer own.
We also didn’t receive any paperwork on the day of purchase. Later, I called in the morning to ask that our paperwork be ready for pickup that same day since our new truck was also back in their shop for a repair. Even with that notice, when we arrived, the paperwork still wasn’t ready, and we waited a couple of hours before finally getting it.
When they finally prepared the paperwork, they left my name off of it. When asked to add it on the day of signing, they refused and said, “couldn’t I just add it when we refinanced it?” — which was completely unacceptable. We refinanced the vehicle with Randolph Brooks, who for whatever reason refuses to work with the dealership.
When we reviewed the documents, we found our interest rate was 6.8%, not the 6.5% we were told at signing. That difference, plus the delay in receiving documents, raised serious concerns.
Throughout this entire process, everyone I spoke with at the dealership was evasive when answering questions. When I finally spoke with the office manager (co-owner and wife of the owner) about the Mustang payoff and the $300 GAP refund, she was rude and told me the check would be sent by regular mail by the end of the week, not overnight as we had been told earlier.
*****At this point, I just want to warn others: make sure you get all your paperwork before leaving, verify your interest rate, confirm that your name is correctly listed on all documents, and check when your trade-in will actually be paid off. I really wish our experience with RNL Auto Group had been more transparent, organized, and professional.

They're all lemons they made a commercial tic tok $500 down you get there and they want 6000 down they're all lemons waste of time for that kind of credit and money I can get a brand new car from Toyota

I heard about this place on TikTok Erics TikTok to be exact lol Rick and Eric are so awesome and wholesome I went in to see if I could get approved and I sure did I’m so glad I saw this place on TikTok BIG thanks to R&L for helping us out.!!!! It’s crazy that this place has any stars , I should have known when a woman was in there with police crying that she was robbed by them but I kept an open mind since I know a few ppl that worked there but I now my sister in her shoes , they sold her a car with many problems and charged her for the work they ended up doing then the car became such a problem she tried to trade it in else where and we found out it was totaled 3 times and we tried trading it back to them and they won’t take it back either . I feel so bad for recommending them to her . Pls save yourself the headache

Buyer beware do not buy from this place. They sell absolute trash and will not stand behind their vehicles. Received nothing but disrespect from Jeremiah, Rick, and Tony. Will not return calls and continue to hang up on you. Motor blew in the vehicle I purchased just over six months after I purchased it. This is not how you do business I recommend you take your money elsewhere.

I would leave no stars if I could but this dealership had me wait for 7 hours on a Saturday I provided everything they needed to approve my application and they never gave me a final answer. Called back on Monday they gave me the run around again all day. Very bad experience and wouldn’t let me talk to a manager either. Don’t recommend and won’t to anyone.
