best experience I've had with getting my vehicle repaired after being in a collision. Michael in the front office kept me informed on the status of the repairs and worked with my adjustor to handle the rental, the repairman that worked on my car Frank and Andrew put my car back together with care and made it look like new! thank you Red McCombs!

Had vehicle towed here. They advertise free complimentary collision estimates. Once my my collision estimate was completed I decided to get my car. It wasn't worth fixing. I had told them it was self pay and no insurance would be used. I was told I would be charged $25.00 a day to store my car and $300 admin fee. That doesn't sound complimentary to me. I told them that and they said well if you had the work done here we would not charge you.. and I was like no body told me the complimentary estimate was tied to me having the work done here nor was it indicated on any paperwork I signed. In the end I had to pay it or they would not give me my car. So now I'm out $375 buck and a car that is not worth fixing. None of this would have been an issue if they would have just told me up front about these fees and they had not advertised that the services to get and estimate were complimentary and not tied to getting the work done through an insurance company...

Update:After leaving the shop with my vehicle, I began to notice the alignment on the door they replaced was very off. There was a large gap at the top of the door that seemed to get worse as time went on. After a back and forward with insurance, I went back to have it repaired. Turns out, the hinges to the door were installed or tightened improperly. They were able to repair it quickly, but this shouldn’t have been an issue at all if they had decent quality control. The reason for second star is because they were able to remediate the issue upon arrival, but I would still avoid this place in the future.Original post:Throughout the two months my car was at the shop, I was assigned to three different employees. The first two seemingly quit or were let go. I could never get a call back regarding the status of my vehicle, nor was I ever contacted regarding any updates including when it may be ready. Every time I called I was asked to leave a message, which rarely resulted in a call back. The only way to speak to anyone was to call numerous times and wait on the phone. When I did receive a call back, my assigned employee didn't seem to know which car mine was, what damage was it in for, or the status of the vehicle. Once I was finally told it was ready for pick up, the interior hadn't been repaired after it was in the shop for almost two months. I was then told it would be ready the following Monday, but it was not. I was out of the country and arranged prior to leaving for my mother to pick up the car, but she had to show up more than once to get any answers regarding its status. Then, she had to fight to even take the vehicle once it was finally finished, despite organizing all of this prior to my departure. Although the final product was very well done, I will never come here again, and I will warn any friends and family of my experience. This was a major hassle every step of the way and I wish I would’ve done more research instead of choosing this place.

The quality of work here sucks and extremely low quality and it is one of the worst business in San Antonio. Your vehicle can be here for months, but it wont be fixed properly. I guarantee you will regret if you bring your vehicle here for repairs.NOT A GOOD BUSINESS.This place Not collisions center, it is a lie and cheat center.

Johnny was a superstar! From the moment I gave him the keys, I could tell he was determined to do a good job and help me out as best as possible. Although the initial estimate for getting me car back was about a month, Johnny called me about a week and a half later to let me know my car was ready. He was very attentive when I had questions about the rental and Insurance stuff. Not to mention, my car was perfectly repaired and they even washed and cleaned outside and inside. I have never had such a good experience with a car repair shop. Thank you Johnny and all the staff!!Service: Auto body & trim repair

Wife's truck was vandalized just after Thanksgiving 2022, taken to Red McCombs Collision Center. Vehicle is still not fulling repaired as of 8/8/2023. I have had to take the vehicle back (5) times already for additional work, even had a home tech visit to diagnosis fault codes coming up after repairs. The vehicle had $27k worth of repairs done, you would think Red McCombs Collision Center could accurately & correctly repair a vehicle for this amount. Repairs included:- Headlight replacements- right front fender repair- front windshield replacement- passenger window replacement- new headliner- new lower seat covers (driver/passenger) - which were installed on wrong sides & had to be swapped- passenger door panel repair- new glove box - still missing glove box lock assemblySo in addition to still missing minor parts that are readily accessible, its had dash faults that have persisted since the initial repairs were made. These faults were not present prior to repairs, even after vandalized.I am on my 2nd repair advisor, as the first (Victor) was fired. The 2nd (Will) isn't doing much better as his customer service is poor at best. Constantly tries to talk over you when you communicate with him. Unable to get a manager to respond to calls or give a call back to try and move process along.For a USAA 5 Star Repair facility, makes me wonder how bad the service is for a 4 Star or less!Services: Auto body & trim repair

HORRIBLEEEE !!!! DO NOT COME HERE !! i dropped of my truck back in april of 2023 and it’s august and they still can’t hand me my vehicle. I dropped my truck off on a monday with VICTOR ALANIS, and when i called back on thursday to get an update, THEY TOLD ME HE WENT ON VACATION !!!!!! and EVERY SINGLE TIME i called to get a hold of him or the other 2 that were in charge after him they always said they weren’t available !!! I thought that being a collision center that works with my dealership would be a good experience but it is NOT. I had 3 gentlemen be in care of my vehicle!!!! because the first 2 couldn’t do their job ??? RUN FROM THIS PLACE LMAO

NO Stars—Please do not take your car here!!! My aunts car has been there one month. They can’t tell us when it will be ready. We are soooo frustrated. We have had to spend so much money on transportation!!! Why would her insurance company allow her car to be sent there if it has so many bad reviews. ( my aunt requested this place not having read reviews she is 86 years old and does not know about reviews, she and my uncle have bought cars from McCombs for 40 years) We need her car !!!!No customer service, no professionalism no answers. We feel like the lady in another of the bad reviews for this collision center. “ We just want to cry! “ We feel like our car is being held hostage.When we asked the claims adjuster to help us navigate by getting a date for us. She said “ you just have to stop calling them”REALLY!!!!!!!!Ugggg!!!!!!!Services: Painting

This is easily the worst business I've ever done business with. Requested to speak to a service manager or production manager 4 times. And 4 times I was given the run around saying, they're on vacation, they're on lunch ( at 11:15 ), even was told that they would give me a callback they're not currently in the office. Never happened. Our car was repaired in a very untimely fashion, causing us to have to pay out of pocket for our rental car. Not only that, they installed defective parts so we had to drive 2 hours to bring the car back in so they could fix their issue. They do not communicate, they told our insurance company our car was ready before they told us it was ready. We were told to use their app/website to check for updates, 2 weeks before the car was actually finished it showed that it was ready for pickup, so I took the day off work and drove 2 hours to find out it wasn't completed, then I was told the app is "difficult to update on their end" even though thats what I was instructed to use.Services: Painting

My car was towed here as a theft recovery. I initially called and asked if they could take it. They confirmed that they could. After the insurance adjuster went by, they said they weren’t sure if they could take it, but they would let me know. They allegedly told the adjuster. However, my insurance had no notes whatsoever.For one week I called and called. The front office staff, the person assigned the vehicle. Nobody ever called me back despite leaving numerous voicemails. When someone answered the phone, they brushed it off and said someone would call (nobody did). After one week, I was finally able to get ahold of someone to which he said, they weren’t going to take the car.So I set up towing through my insurance to tow my car to another collision center. I also called Red McCombs Collision and notified them about the tow. They thanked me for calling and giving them a heads up. One day passed and I found out, the tow was canceled, because McCombs did not release the car. My insurance placed us on a three way call, to which I found out they wanted a verbal release, I explained talking to them yesterday. Again, the staff had no idea of a call.My experience with this company was terrible. Unprofessional, no customer service, no communication. I do not recommend them at all.

Called multiple times to set an appt for my accident repairs. Once answered 2 men talking about other conversations, places on hold, answers and hung up. Called again and just keeps getting phone answered and hung up

DO NOT GET A USED VEHICLE THERE WITHOUT THE WARRANTY OR EXPECT ALL LOSSES, as their ASE/ MECHANICS seem to not be INCLINED TO look or care for damages and wash their hands with the whole should've got the warranty. But the 2016 lincoln Mkx i purchased had numerous flaws and now 4months later has a 5k faulty water pump on top of accident which was not showing ? ? not safe if you pan to carry any family let alone child in any red McCombs vehicle ???
