Amazing experience. The tour guides inside of the church were a wealth of information.

You can’t go to San Antonio without visiting the Alamo. They have different options. Free admission with Alamo Church. $14 for an adult for the Alamo exhibit. $20 for an adult for an audio tour, Alamo exhibit, and Alamo Church. Once you get inside, they do have 15 min demonstrations on musket forms for free. They’re only on Fri-Sun. I only did a self guided tour. If you do the Alamo Church and exhibit, plan to spend maybe 1.5-2 hrs there. That depends on the day/time and if you watch any demonstrations. It is popular so go early if you want to avoid the bigger crowds.

One of the top attractions of San antonio. A city rich with history and the alamo mission opens a doorway to the past. Literally. You experience the moments of the battle in the same way they did hundreds of years ago. You’ll sit in the same room used to hide from the enemies. You’ll walk through the camps and the cannons alongside the walls. There are works to preserve the natural limestone used in the walls of the church and the paintings over it. The alamo exhibit is something that you can skip. It’s a museum with the things retrieved from the place in the past, restored and preserved behind glass. If you are in San Antonio, this should be on the top of you bucket list. I would recommend you get the free entry ticket only if you just want to make a stop. But there are guided tours if you have a few hours to experience the history

This is truly American history! The ethereal emotions of being in the Mission was magical, then experiencing the storytelling of the battle was visceral. My family is filled with history buffs but I loved the artifacts, documents and art presented.I loved everything about the experience!

Not a lot to capture kids interest except the History channel documentary they showed in the long barracks. Kids got much more interested once they saw that. More "recreated rooms" to show what things looked like similar to the doctor's quarters would make things more engaging. Otherwise, they've literally not changed the exhibits, like the diorama that's been there since I visited as a child 30 years ago. The plaza in front was completely torn out due to construction. Hope it's better once that's done.

Rich in history and ancient beauty. So grateful for those who fought for freedom, those who preserved his gem over the centuries and those who came to learn about history of Texas.Freedom and liberty came with a huge price that I am often taking them for granted.Thank you!Love San Antonio for what it stands. The place can be very packed during the weekend so make sure you got your tickets ahead of time and figure out where you can park without walking too far to the Alamo or paying too much for parking. And be aware and they have a lot of construction going on at the place which can be a bit annoying but excited about what’s next when it is doneCan’t wait to see how the Alamo could have been like.
