Food was great, but the bar service was awful. the bartender handed my spouse a cup to get her own lemonade. Then, he failed to add my grand mariner topper to my margarita. Finally, they upcharged me for fried shrimp versus grilled shrimp on a taco where they never had before, Just bad service and attitude all around!

For the hype and it being my first time the food was not to my liking it was Cold and made it really unpleasant. I would not recommend.

Seriously disappointed by this locations service last night. My family and I have been to plenty of Torchy’s here in SA and Austin and this 151 location has been by far the worst. The two females running the bar, had attitudes and did not provide service to individuals when even making eye contact with them. Before ordering at the bar I kept getting eyes rolled at me from the first bartender and “dirty” looks from the other bartender. The female who took orders insisted they had no queso and 10-20 mins later servers were coming out with queso, she could have said it was a wait in the first place. I was told by a blonde female that she was going to bring our table queso, but was never to be seen after that. We will never be returning or recommending this location to anyone we know. We’ve never waited more than 15 mins for our food, they couldn’t even bring us chips at least. My family and I were in disbelief by how ridiculous simple service was handled. None of them should have been running the place.

I write this as I am waiting to get my two tacos re-heated,Upon arriving we parked and started walking towards the building. As we approached the front entrance, a female wearing the companies T-shirt darted past us. I noticed that it was the same lady that was actively working with a mechanic (I am assuming) under the hood of a black vehicle that was frontward facing the building entrance. I thought, that's odd. As I walk in, it comes to my attention that this female employee did not stop to wash her hands. She proceeded to take care of the growing line in the front of the register.Eating here with a Vet has it's perks, like FREE QUESO! We also ended up ordering guac with our meal, I wouldn't have if I knew it was going to be 7.99. I would have asked for assistance with the menu but it seemed to me the cashier was having a bad day as she was very short spoken, rolling her eyes, and generally annoyed with us. After receiving our buzzer and our drinks I decided on a root beer from the fountain. It was a great flavor and bubbly. The guac came out super fast and tasted great, such a large portion!! We started getting curious about the cheese dip. When I walked up and asked the lady behind the bar the lady that I had previously delt with answered for her and let me know she had to ring it in for inventory purposes. When I sat back down with hopes of cheesey dip our tacos came out. I ordered beef fajita tacos. The meat was cold, so I took it up front to ask for my food to be remade. My boyfriend on the other hand just dealt with his cold beef fajita and cold chicken strip meat due to Army life. I also asked her to make it Togo because of the time. When I received my Togo bag I wanted to check my food. Being freshly remade I assumed it would be very hot. I was disappointed to find them Luke warm, still better than cold. I found my new taco to mediocre. My food definitely did not reflect the pice it was sold for. I finished my one out of two tacos and started packing up my things and cleaning my area. The atmosphere was very stale and without any energy. As we were leaving the establishment I noticed the most adorable lilac Frenchie with it's owner on the patio. I had a wonderful conversation with this lady and learned so much about breed preservation, and the Frenchie had wonderful manners. It saddens me to say that the highlight of my first visit to this establishment was meeting with this wonderful dog owner and getting some puppy kisses before getting into our vehicle and heading home. All in all I will not be going back to drop 50$ on food that I can prepare better in my own kitchen. At least then I will be able to give myself great customer service and good food. Do better Torchy's Taco San Antonio, Houston locations are way ahead of you in all aspects.

Food is amazing as always, our tacos came out hot and fairly quickly during lunch. Queso was as good as always. My problem here is with the staff. The woman working the register kept her head down while hading you things as she seemed uninterested in assisting anyone who came in. She seemed grumpy that I brought in my 4 year old (like he would be loud, disruptive and messy) all of the staff looks unenthusiastic and that they hate their jobs.

We are new to the area and we ordered delivery to a near by hotel. Made an order for over $50 in total for 4 fajitas and the fajitas we got were so so tiny (see pic)...we were not expecting that from the menu pix! But the food itself was very good. Careful what you order...not sure if this would have made a difference if we were at the restaurant.

Every time I visit San Antonio I manage to visit Torchy’s several times. The tacos are delicious, the prices are reasonable and the service is outstanding. I took my brother there and he insisted we return for another visit before we left San Antonio.

We come to this Torchy’s a lot. It’s one of the only things around this area with vegetarian options, it also is one of the only places open after we get off of work. (Well it’s supposed to be) I have had many many many weird experiences at this specific location, so many that now that I finally have written a review. No matter what time we come into this Torchy’s, they’re closing the front down. Granted it’s always in the evening but always over an hour before closing which is posted at 10pm. It says 10pm on the door, online, google, everywhere. But every time we come, they’re closing the front. The teas have been taken away while we are getting drinks. The chairs are put up all around us and it’s 830pm? If this was a one time occurrence I’d be fine, probably wouldn't even notice. BUT, it’s every single time. We came in early for us once, 7/730ish and they were closing down the front of house. It’s a little funny, and has become a running joke with us. Because it seems no matter what time, if it’s after 6 they’re trying to close. Now having the store close the front 3 hours before closing although confusing and annoying, it isn’t actually the issue. This location recently hired a new girl who is so obviously over people coming in no matter what time we get there. We got there at 8, and a friend met us. This employee deep sighed to the ceiling right next to our table as she was putting chairs up all around us. So upset that another customer walked into the store at 815 pm even though they close at 10. She has been consistently rude, and off putting every single time we’ve seen her. We tip every time, too which is even more frustrating. We’ve tried to be pleasant no matter what, but today we decided to leave. It’s just now hitting 9pm so we were there 8:35 ish, we asked what time the restaurant closes. Our same sassy lady said “9” I said, “oh everything says 10, we won’t stay if it’s 9” she said “oh it’s 8:39 right now” we were like what? She continues to say “we close the front at 9, the kitchen is closed at 930” so, we said “oh” then asked again, “do you close at 10?”And instead of a direct answer, she told us about the kitchen being a scratch kitchen and “it’s really no problem if you stay” but it clearly was. She lied about closing time, so we decided to find somewhere else to eat. She yells after us “okay see you tomorrow” (sarcastically) and we were out of there. We’ve worked service industry. We don’t like causing issues, we clean up after ourselves, try to be pleasant, and always tip. But if the closing the front of house super early wasn’t enough to be off putting-this lady is making sure we don’t want to come here.Maybe I should ask when she works so we can come on her day off.It seems they’re going to close the front down early no matter who’s working. But everyone else is pleasant, and great, and we still enjoy being there.Anyway, it’s a cool spot. Every other torchys we’ve been to is great. This one good too-before 6pm.

The food and staff are always great. The bartender, Serena, is amazing. She's great at her job. Always smiling and laughing. Serena seems like an amazing person. She deserves a raise and some days off to go to the rodeo.
