Join a Credit Union. I will be closing all accounts with this rat bank. USAA has become just as horrible as many others. I purchased a rental car with Expedia, never got my car and USAA is siding with Expedia. Typical corporate America; unethical and harmful to the working class.

I've decided to cancel my membership and will advise my family to do the same. The recruitment department is very rude and seems more inclined to favor outsiders over its members. It’s deeply disappointing considering the hard work my family contributed in the military. Bad business overall, look elsewhere.

USAA was originally founded for military officers overseas as it was difficult for them to be insured. USAA has lost sight of their mission. I have been a member over 40 years and have watch their reputation go into the toilet. They used to be featured on CNBC. Not anymore. I am overseas and I used to be able to go to an atm and get money no charge. Well now there is an ATM charge, but get this, I am charged 1 percent. So 500 would be 5 dollars. No! you get charged on the ATM fee as well. So a 500 dollar transaction is 505.05 plus the 5 dollar ATM fee. Now my direct deposts got to Schwab.Try moving money from USAA to Schwab and it is not done easily and automatically with a bank to bank transfer. They delay to write a check, then they delay to put that check in the mail. I have been waiting over ten days for a transfer to arrive from USAA to Schwab via their bill pay system. Imagine if I used it to pay actual bills, I would be in the poor house with late fees.I have a Visa card through them which seems to be the only decent feature they can offer but a recent fraud, they had to issue a new one. I have been waiting for over six weeks for that to arrive. I called and they sent it to a wrong address I was told. How could that happen, my information is current in my profile on the USAA improved website.Perhaps you won't have the same issues I have with this failing institution, but reading comments in the reviews and on their social media suggest otherwise.

USAA of Texas is a corrupted branch of the diseased company that specializes in bad faith dealings with enlisted members of the armed forces. Research their shady business practices for yourself. I chose them by word of mouth and lived to regret giving them my time and money. The lawsuits and F rating from the BBB should give you an idea. You have been warned.

I'm a member of USAA, I was also rear ended by a member of USAA. They refused to pay for a rental car provided while my car was being repaired, as if that wasn't enough USAA also refused to pay for the ambulance that transported me to the hospital. I contacted the BBB Better Business Bureau and they lied to me and the BBB as to why they had not paid for anything. Be very careful when dealing with USAA. Veterans are their main source of business and these are the business practices they use with veterans.

Less than 1 Star - USAA should be ashamed of themselves! Like most federal or QUANGO agencies in this country, USAA is worthless and it does NOT care for US Veterans. Their rates are equal if not higher than GEICO, State Farm, Allstate, etc. USAA agents are incompetent and indolent. The last USAA gimmick: Forcing users to download the USAA SafePilot app which is a violation of privacy and a communistic approach to "saving" money.

Fulky Disabled Combat Veteran; 4 decades with USAA. USAA Insurance Dept Managers, Corporate Advocate, etc are all using the Underwriters to avoid a dair & equitable resolution. Bottomline: just another "bank" that claims to be special for veterans but actually are just another institution that will take advantage of even the most loyal customers.USAA likes to claim they appreciate my "loyalty" but the hard fact is they are not Loyal to even their most loyal customers. They jeopardized my entire family and lost my business. When tested, USAA is not dependable, special or loyal.

Wow, as I’m here on back and forth hold trying to get some basic information about my coverages I must say that after 34 years, I will be looking for a new company to cover my assets. I’m also an auto repair shop owner who deals with USAA on comprehensive claims and I can tell you they have descended to a new low in how they handle their customers issues. Very unhappy customer here. I can understand why some repair companies don’t even want to deal with their claims.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Like all the reviews before me, USAA has gone downhill at a rapid pace for the past 10 yrs. We went to another insurance company years ago because every year, rates went up by hundreds. Now, they have so many rules and regulations with their banking that we are now on the move from that as well.So much for being a company that cares about our military and its veterans. It's pretty apparent that no one high up cares about all the bad reviews either because it continues to get worse all the time.

I moved and changed phone numbers. It is now impossible to verify my account. Almost three hours have gone by and most of it speaking to a representative with no success. USAA. com/verify is no help because it won't allow me to upload my driver's license photos with my phone or laptop. I was not permitted to speak to a manager until I verified my information, so that isn't an option. My pin number is in my old phone, so I don't have it. The representatives are friendly but mostly useless. This because of the way USAA does business and not because of the people. My only option is to move my auto policies and home owner's insurance to another company. Apparently, if I had been involved in a car accident, I would not be able to file a claim and I can't verify my account. The second worst customer service ever. Almost three hours of life I can never get back. My life is nearly over. I am a 100% disabled veteran and I would not recommend USAA. If freedom of speech was something that was still valid I could use many four letter words. My mortgage company has prevented any future payments from being sent. I wonder if they will call me when they don't have my phone number. Oh, yeah. They won't let me change my phone number until I verify and I can't verify until I change my number.Good riddance.I posted this about an hour ago. I looked at the other reviews and I have never seen so many 1-star reviews. A law firm or attorney generals need to investigate. So many complaints. The BBB or something. USAA is pathetic.

I started banking with USAA when I joined the army at 17 and have had my checking, saving, and credit card with them for almost 20 years. I used to say, "I love my bank," but in the last several years all of their services have gotten worse.I used to have car insurance with them and after cancelling my insurance due to moving abroad and selling my car, they decide to reverse a decision on an accident I was in months after it happened, and then when I came back to the states denied me coverage for insurance, only later to hound me with calls to come back to their insurance after getting coverage through GEICO.The credit card rewards program used to be streamlined in the app, now it's annoying separate program outside the app. Every credit card dispute I've filed has never been found in my favor. My partner files one with his card through another institution and gets approved right away. It's almost impossible to talk with a real person for any kind of help and their virtual chat for assistance frankly sucks. The savings account racks in at a meagre 0.20%. APY. I get 4.8 % through Wealthfront.I applied for a mortgage years ago and got better rates through Navy Federal and private lenders. This bank and all its associated services have only made lives harder for service members over the years and I'm disappointed that they market themselves as helping service members and their families.

Awful company since Wayne took over. I've had insurance with them since 93. But in the last year in Florida they have raised the rates over 100%. Wayne is trying to maximize profits so he can get himself a fat bonus. What a sham company.Call Geico or Progressive they have just as good service and much better rates.

I have been a USAA insurance customer for two Decades with almost every product they offer with HEAVY COVERAGE. They always took extremely good care of me, and I always felt very safe from catastrophic financial loss. HOWEVER, USAA had a 1.3 BILLION LOSS in 2022 for the first time since the companies founding over 100 YEARS AGO. Many employees on the internet say it is the new CEO making changes to get the stock share prices back up on the backs of customers. They have changed many systems to low ball customers on claims and fired thousands of employees. The remaining employees are dropping like flies. USAA has decided to pile their losses on decades old customers. What a difference two years makes. A hail claim on an SUV has been delegated to a 3rd party company, SCA, to low ball customers, which just also happens to run an auto salvage auction. How convenient. SCA works overtime to total your vehicle that will end up in their salvage auction, while you get a pitiful offer on your totaled car. SCA also had total control and dictates to USAA what they will do. I DID NOT sign an insurance agreement with SCA mafia scam company in Kalifornia... I signed an agreement with USAA. Messaged my USAA Rep 15 plus times, not one response. I called USAA claims three different times, got the same guy all three times (guess he's the only one working), and nothing but excuses. Filed a BBB complaint against USAA, got a water boy in the CEOs hallway, that basically it is being taken care of (its not) and that SCA, the third party company, makes the decisions. USAA is the Titanic. After I fight like hell to get a fair retail market settlement on my SUV, I am shopping around all insurances and pulling ALL my products. I advise others to do the same, or you will learn the hard way.

As a member of the recently implemented USA a safe, driving pilot program. I have learned so many good habits that I use daily. I no longer search the web, text or talk on the phone while I’m driving. Nor do I trust USAA anymore. I earned a 26% discount for next years premiums. Then I find out when next year‘s premiums come out that I received last and a 5% discount. I called customer service and was given the old Texas two-step and lots of double talk as to why I’m not going to receive what the app assured me, I would receive. It came down to living in Tennessee. I was told that we have some of the lowest rates in the nation, and Tennessee does not participate in the deep discounts promised by the app. Shame on you USAA. But I’ve come to expect it and that’s how it’s been Ever since everyone was able to be a member.

One star because zero is not an option. Unscrupulous business, taking advantage of military members as a cash cow and then, taking advantage again, every time a claim is filed. Our truck was parked when it was hit by a USAA insurance customer. We also have USAA and they sat on every aspect of this claim for two months. Their customer service was horrible with blind transfers to voice mailboxes. Messages left were not returned.Questions were not answered. The worst. I was actually told that I would get better service if I filed a claim on my own insurance. Really? The truck was parked, unattended in a parking lot when it was hit. NO FAULT of MINE. This is two USAA customers. Do what you are paid to do and INSURE against accidents. We did not get a return call from the Adjuster (Roy) or his supervisor (Amanda) on any occasion regarding this process or the claim. Roy did call and leave a message at 2036hrs one evening to let us know the initial check authorized for repairs had been approved for $1300. The repair estimate provided to USAA was for $2500+. USAA has demonstrated a history of lowballing the payout on a genuine repair estimate. And then, they want to the repair facility to submit "supplements." Time is money. Quit wasting time about money. Pay the bill. Rental vehicle? Nope. Just hold my farm truck hostage for 2 months while you collect more insurance money and customers from the military pipeline.I will never recommend this company to anyone for insurance or banking.Because this conglomerate does not pay fair labor rates, we had to take our truck to another town for repair. Repair shops do not want to work with USAA because they ignore, bully or refuse to pay fair prices for skilled labor at repair facilities. Taking advantage and making things more difficult for their customers.Personally, I put off getting USAA because they catered to Officers back in the day. Enlisted money wasn't good enough. When the military leaned out and got rid of so many Officers, USAA suddenly opened up to all military members. And now, I know they are not worth the frustration. Goodbye USAA.There are better banks and better insurance companies
