Visiting a pharmacy should generally be a straightforward experience where patients can expect understanding and professionalism, especially when it comes to acquiring essential medication. Unfortunately, my experience at Walgreens was far from that; it was the worst I have ever encountered. The hostility and inefficiency I faced left me frustrated and dissatisfied, warranting scrutiny. The behavior of the pharmacist, Joel, negatively impacted both my health and the overall quality of service.
The most glaring issue during my visit was the pharmacist's startling rudeness. Instead of the typical pleasantries, I was met with an abrupt and dismissive attitude. When I expressed urgency due to my out-of-town status, I was met with disdain rather than empathy. Such rudeness undermines trust and contradicts the essence of healthcare, which should be rooted in care and compassion. This experience highlights how vital human interactions are in the healthcare sector; when these interactions are negative, they can significantly heighten a patient’s distress.
Compounding the issue was the logistical nightmare that unfolded alongside the pharmacist's impolite demeanor. Because I had traveled from another city, I planned to pick up my medication promptly. Instead, I had to extend my stay, incurring unforeseen expenses.
Furthermore, the overall service at this Walgreens Pharmacy was deeply disappointing. Beyond the interpersonal issues, systemic inefficiencies became apparent. When it was time to pick up my prescription, I was informed that it wasn't ready, despite having to stay an additional day. The pharmacist had been looking at the wrong prescription from the start, even though I had spoken to him three times prior. On the day I finally went in person to get my medication, I noticed a line of frustrated customers, each facing their own struggles with slow service and unclear communication. The delay I experienced was not an isolated incident; it reflected a more significant problem within the pharmacy's operations. An effective pharmacy must balance responsiveness and courtesy, both of which were sorely lacking during my visit. This inefficiency not only undermines the professional image of the pharmacy but also reflects poorly on the healthcare system as a whole.
Such interactions should serve as a reminder of the critical importance of professionalism in healthcare settings. Patients should always be treated with respect and empathy, as their health often hangs in the balance. This incident underscores the need for better training and management within pharmacy services, emphasizing that a courteous demeanor and efficient service are essential for patient satisfaction. For those seeking medication, it is crucial to remain vigilant and choose pharmacies that prioritize their customers' well-being. Unfortunately, this Walgreens is definitely not one of them. The overall experience was truly disheartening.

I absolutely love Walgreens, and have been using them for years in many different states. This location on Cypress and San Pedro in San Antonio, Texas is my favorite! Jose and Monica in the pharmacy are the best they both are very attentive and caring to the needs of the customers they are always smiling and not only remember your name, but also many other very important details concerning things like my med interactions. They always show genuine care and concern especially when there's a new medication on my list. They always have my prescriptions in stock! Very fast service I can go on and on about how great the whole store is. Very thankful for and appreciate their services.

I’ve been to this location multiple times I have lived in the area for years and I think it’s ridiculous that their prices are twice what they should be. I think they take advantage of the people in the area with their overpriced products. I won’t be going back there to buy any products from Walgreens at this location everything is overpriced, how sad price gouge the community and a predominantly poor area Walgreens should be ashamed I think people should know the truth.

A larger Walgreens in I would have but I tried and true one nonetheless it was a great place to get everything I needed and so convenient I will definitely be going back even if it is out of my way just because I was pleasantly surprised

Horrible customer service in photo department. I was there because I needed my passport photo taken I was scolded like I was a child in trouble the lady and man had no patience. The photo continued to come crookedThe lady made comments like well maybe your head is like that and your eye is lazy so rude !!!!I will never return here for ANYTHING
