GO TO ANY AUTO ZONE BUT THIS LOCATION!This is the first Auto Zone where not only was the customer service horrible, but I had to beg the employee to come out and hook up the code reader to my truck. Normally I can walk into an Auto Zone and describe an issue I'm having or ask questions about a part to any employee and the employee spends the time helping me- most of the time exceeding my expectations. I was in a pinch because my truck's cab high center mounted lights would not turn off. I was working and I took a quick break to hit Auto Zone to avoid my battery draining power. I already knew I need a new alternator, but I wanted to make sure no other error codes popped up and try to get an idea of what the issue could be. It was early morning and I was one of two customers. I explained what was going on to the employee. The entire time, he wouldn't make eye contact with me. Without looking up from the counter, he said, "Just take it to a mechanic." I said, "I am dropping her off at my mechanic on Monday for a new alternator. I'd like to make sure I can make it over the weekend. If I can't, then I need to take off work and take her in today." Still without looking at me, he asked, "Is your check engine light on?" I responded, "No it isn't, but it wasn't on when I was at the New Braunfels Auto Zone asking what would cause my interior dash lights to flicker. They inspected my battery and the reading showed I needed a new alternator (ended up getting battery replaced under warranty). He finally looks up and says, "If the check engine light isn't on then there is no reason for me to walk out there and hook it up." Listen, it was cold, I get it, but seriously this employee couldn't offer even a bit of assistance?I finally looked at him and said, "You know, I have never had a problem at Auto Zone. I've never had to ask for someone to take a look at my truck. I've never even had to ask which product is better than another. My experiences have always been more helpful than no help. Can you just give me some peace of mind and hook the reader up?" He grabbed the reader off the rack, made a sigh, walked out in front of me, and said, "Unlock your truck. Give me the keys." He did his thing, with his back to me and without any communication. Mind you, the other employee was giving great customer service to the other customer parked 2 cars over from me. He finished, unhooked the reader, and walked off. I had to get my key out of the ignition, shut my truck door, lock it, and catch up to him going back inside. As a girl, I dont expect a door to be held open for me, but I do expect for a door to not begin to close in my face by an employee at a place of business I might end up spending my money at. Right as I thought my experience couldn't get worse, he hooks the reader up to show me the results on the computer screen, but then walks off to help a customer who came in. He left me standing at the counter and went outside with this customer! I just couldn't believe it. I stood there, watched another customer come in and get help before the employee "helping" me came back inside. Once back inside, he didn't show me any results or tell me the results. He asked, "What year is your truck?" I told him 2015. He pulls up an alternator and says, "I can sell you this, we have one in stock, and you can take it to the mechanic." At that point I looked at him and said, "I already purchased the alternator I wanted, which is OE rated from the New Braunfels Auto Zone. You really should find a career where you do not provide any type of customer service. I certainly am not buying anything from you." I left with no answers, spent the rest of the day at work worried, and ticked off. I hate leaving negative reviews. When I do, their brief. This negative review deservedly needed to be detailed. 921 Hwy 80 location is the best! The employees at this location consistently have good customer service and easy to communicate with. Today, they didn’t have what I needed on hand, so a driver was sent to another location to pick up the part (a new battery). ?? Excellent service! When the employee returned, he happily swapped out my part & I was on the road in no time! Thanks y’all! ?

Went here because my blinker went out and everywhere else said it was too much of a hassle to get under my battery to change it for me. I came here and Jefferson was more than willing to give it a look and fixed it in under 10min urea. Super friendly service and will definitely return!

Great place for all your auto parts needs. The staff is awesome. I even witnessed an employee helping a customer install a part in their vehicle. These guys never disappoint and are very knowledgeable About their product they sell. Where as O'Reilly Auto Parts the guys there are aloof, confused and have poor customer service.

Service was fast, staff were very helpful. Went in needing windshield wipers for a friends car, staff assessed gave me my choices and prices and installed within minutes and I was on my way!!

My family and I was 300 miles when a coil went out in our truck we managed to get to this AutoZone 4205 in San Marcos every single employee was super helpful and attentive to our needs and helped us get back on the road!! best autozone ever!!!
