If I could leave a zero star review I would. My aunt went in Thursday night and she is still currently there. The doctor/nurses have not done anything to get her transferred to the San Antonio location for better care. When asking the nurses on an eta they state they are just waiting.... Can't believe they rather see their patient in pain than to help them out. Not including the nurses are not very friendly when walking up to them asking for something they tend to not acknowledge you. Do not bring your loved ones to CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital for any kind of medical emergency help!!! THEY WILL NOT HELP.

This place is awful. Daughter went there for some issues and without running a single test, they sent her home and told her to see a primary care doctor because they didn't know what was wrong with her. Doctor was rude and this is just awful service for a hospital chain that's well known across the state.

Good luck speaking with anyone about filing insurance or your bill. I've been calling for days, left 2 messages, and gotten voicemail of 3 different departments. My daughter's visit was a month ago and there is still no claim filed with our insurance. But I can't talk to anyone! It's ridiculous!

Went in--got in fairly quick but after her xray, we understand there was a wait (we were told 25-30min). We've been waiting for 50 minutes now. After 1 hour I called for assistance/ update--they called radiology and they didn't know what was holding them up, (she said "they couldn't read the xray" ???) which i get, and again said about 1 more hr--we've already been here 2hr 10min. Problem here is that there should be an update a long time ago. If I didn't call for update, they'll probably hold us there for 2 more hours fkkn nuts!!!!!!

I delivered my first child at Christus San Marcos (Women's Center). And let me just say my husband and I and our families were extremely surprised and happy with our whole experience start to finish. Everyone, including those who came and brought us meals or took our trash, was so incredibly kind and helpful. Everyone was helpful. The food was great - my husband and I got a celebration meal the next day after our child arrived! I felt heard and respected, I walked in with a birth plan and the nurses took extra precautions to ensure my goals were met to the best of their abilities. They had one room equipped for water birth/tub and rooms were spacious. My nurses took the time to educate me and to coach me through my labor, and I can't say thank you enough. Whatever I asked for was delivered quickly to me. I had a night nurse and lactation consultation come assist me as I struggled to breastfeed. I also required emergency surgery immediately after delivery ans felt in the best of care with my OBGYN in this hospital. Thank you Christus.

One of the worst emergency rooms I’ve ever been too. If I could, I would rate this a zero and overall worst experience. We waited 3 hours just in the waiting room, they immediately took my insurance information but yet I sat in the ER for 3 hours. No assistance or any type of knowledge. I saw a patient being so rudely talked to. He repeatedly said he felt like fainting, but the bald headed man working at the entrance continued to say there’s nothing they can do yet. “ it’s not his turn” he was sweating and could barely stand. In my experience this was the worst I’ve ever had to deal with.waited too long, and ended up leaving because even then they would take 3 more hours jus waiting in the room to help me out. Staff has no empathy towards the needs of ppl, if this is called an emergency room i would tell everyone to rather go on a further drive for an actual medical treatment. By far they only care to have your insurance. Nothing else. You have to be brutally hurt or be dying for them to help you. This is no emergency care. Always stay away from such places. I hope further investigation is done within this institution because it’s no good to the people in need. Worst place ever. Staff suck. No assistance. No help. Just waiting. Unless ofc your dying.

I cannot express how grateful we were to be at this hospital with this staff. We were on the second floor with the absolute most caring staff. They were caring, professional and went above and beyond for us. Thank you all so much for what you do.

I want to start by saying that the nurses at Christus have been great, and I know healthcare is a really rough field to be in, especially post-COVID. The doctors are not so great. I have been to the Christus ER twice and had two totally different experiences. After I had COVID there was a day when my pulse got up to the 130s-140s while I was not doing anything. I went to the ER and they were very attentive, and when I said I felt bad about taking up time & resources there when there were people having a way worse time, they said, "If it seems like an emergency to you, it seems like an emergency to us." They ran some tests to see if anything serious was going on and then told me to follow up with a cardiologist. A week later, my blood pressure was 160-something over 125, which is far above anything I'd ever had before. I had a telehealth appointment through Christus and the doctor told me it wouldn't hurt to go to the ER and get checked out. I went, and this time I was chided for going -- the doctor was dismissive -- she said "People walk around with blood pressure like this all the time," and ordered the same tests I'd had the week before, which of course cost more money. Moreover, my mom and my aunt have both been out there to the ER and it's like Christus doesn't want to admit anyone who hasn't been recently mauled by a bear. Mom has congestive heart failure and an artificial valve, and had terrible leg swelling. At the time, she also had COVID. She started having some arrhythmia and called me, so I called 911 and she went to the ER. Despite all the things going on with her, they wouldn't admit her -- not even for overnight observation. My aunt was having stroke-like symptoms, and the folks at the ER said she was very dehydrated so they gave her some water to take home and sent her on her way. By the time she got home, she couldn't walk and one side of her face was drooping. My cousins took her to another hospital, where they kept her overnight and concluded that she might have had a series of TIAs.I've always had the impression that Christus was a great healthcare system, but the San Marcos hospital isn't reflecting that reputation.

I came into ER for Heat Stroke and dehydration. Found out I had Covid too. Medical team started on me right away and I wasn't even in a room yet. Thank you for taking wonderful care of me. God bless you.

While some departments and staff are great, I have found that this hospital really doesn't care about patient rights!!! I reported a HIPPA violation over a week ago. Nothing has been done and the violation continues. Guess I'll report it to someone who is going to really take it serious about a hospital breaking laws. I shouldn't be surprised since another one of their hospitals gave me other patients medical records mixed in with mine. I'm done and am not gonna put up with it anymore!!!

My 19 daughter was in town visiting her boyfriend at Texas state. In the middle of the night, she woke up to excruciating pain in stomache and all of a sudden her whole body felt inflamed. They rush to this hospital emergency room and from the very moment she entered, they took the very best care of her! All the staff and nurses were very caring and prompt with testing, Cat/Ct scan and all that was needed. They found out it was either a cyst or tumor that was ruptured on her left ovary. Dr Hamilton was the the specialist Obgyn surgeon and he was absolutely AMAZING! Very thorough and experienced Dr. You can imagine how frantic I was as her mother driving 3 hrs to get to her but all the while I wasn’t I felt like she was in great hands! Thank you staff and THANK YOU DR HAMILTON!! Alexis felt 100% better right after the surgery!

I would stay as far away from this hospital as possible unless you are in grave danger. I broke my leg and I knew it was pretty bad and this was the closest hospital. The hospital staff was really nice but the services and facilities were poor at best and dangerous at worst. First of all the wheelchair they put me in had a broken wheel lock, which is really unsafe when trying to get in and out of a chair safely. The wheelchair BARELY fit through the doorway. It was a standard size chair so there's no way an extra wide chair could easily maneuver around there; larger patients be extra aware! The radiology tech was completely incompetent. He kept moving my ankle to take the x-ray and it kept dislocating, causing excruciating pain. He did not seem too bothered and did very little to make the x-ray experience more comfortable. They were short staffed that night, which is fine, but a poor brand new EMT trainee had to hold my foot in traction for AN HOUR until they could splint it because my ankle kept dislocating...what a nightmare! The doctor was not able to set my leg for the splint application and I have no idea what the qualifications were of the guy that actually set my leg were, but he did a pretty bad job. When I got in to see a reputable orthopedic surgeon at UT-Austin and he took off the splint he said he would definitely have made them redo it. Now I have no idea if I'm going to suffer lifelong mobility issues due to my leg being set poorly. Now I'm dealing with insurance because they look like they are billing in really shady ways. Please stay away from this place unless you are about to die. It's really bad!

If I could give more stars I would. I had an accident and it required surgery which was my first time to ever have surgery. Every staff member I came in contact with made the entire process understandable and answered every question. They were very consistent on checking up on me to see how I was feeling and made sure I wasn’t in pain. I don’t have insurance as I was supposed to start my new job this Monday but due to the injury it will be delayed. They made it stress free and took care of me as if I had insurance. I don’t think my whole experience could have gotten any better. I wanna give a big shout out to a few of my nurses Alisha from the emergency room, Michelle was my night nurse, and Maricela was my day shift nurse. Y’all went above and beyond for me and for that I am grateful for. And last but not least my ortho doctor Dr. T. Doering, not all heroes wear capes! Good Bless!!
