Love this H‑E‑B. The prices are reasonable. The selection is good. Employees help you when asked. The produce is fresh. This is my go-to for my pharmacy.

Every time I go into this location I’m disappointed. Haven’t been to this location in awhile because they never have what I am looking for. Went in to pick up some gluten free items only to find they no longer have a dedicated gluten free section.I found this out when speaking with a manager who let me know that that the gluten free items were located around the store. I thanked him for the info and said I would no longer be shopping at this location and would be driving to either Kyle or New Braunfels and shrugged his shoulders and said “ok.” Great customer service!

Honestly, it has been the worst place to get my deli hots from. All I wanted for the last 4 days has been teriyaki chiken, and all 4 days, the guy gave me the same excuse. I only make 4 portions a day. So if they take them they take them. Poor excuse if I may say pity, this is the customer service I get. HEB going down the drain sad to say it. Partners don't have the same dedication anymore. The only 2 person that were very helpful were KATE and PAMELA

Where do I start with this unconcerned management run store. For one, this and the other downtown location aren't sufficient to serve the ever expanding San Marcos population. Due to this inconvenience of minimal grocery shopping locations. The entire city of San Marcos has to enter a parking lot crammed with a wrap around the lot line of cars waiting for curbside pickup. If you somehow manage to get a parking spot to do shopping. The curbside shoppers are always rude and in the way of shoppers whilst also in little groups gossiping. It's always the female staff just talking in front of products others need to get to.The gossiping doesn't stop at the grocery selection. Had a blonde female cashier last week that literally held her conversation. With the bagging coworker. Making the checkout process horrendously slow. Watched a manager just ignoring the issue while counting money. The tortillas in the bakery are ALWAYS out of stock by 7-8pm. The bakery manager is aware of the problem. Which stems from a couple taco vendors coming in to buy large quantities to make their tacos. These businesses that need product will still get the stock. Regardless of item limitations. They bring multiple family members to buy what they would need.So the problem of having tortillas for shoppers that get their shopping done later in the evening. Continues to plague this location consistently. The inability to recognize the need for more workers goes unaddressed for months.Otherwise the tortilla problem wouldn't be an ongoing issue. Then when you're done shopping the store and unable to obtain what you set out to buy. Since this H.E.B never has it stocked. With management that can't be bothered to address issues.Be ready to bag all your own items. For whatever reason the baggers at this location are a rare commodity. Feel free to shop here and see for yourself. I consistently see teller/bagging management staring off into phones. Instead of chipping in or keeping talkative easily distracted coworkers on task by reminding them they're at work.Whatever lax managing approach this location has been going down the last few months. Made the shopping experience horrendous.District management needs to do a month long evaluation to take all my complaints into account. This store is getting out of hand.

Whenever I'm in San Antonio, during my first full day, I always stop at the local HEB and do a week's worth of shopping -- and the food and selection never disappoints: thank you!

The management at this specific location is non existent. Specifically in the cashier/customer service checkout /bagging after 7:30 p.m continuously day in and out. The fresh baked tortillas are non existent as well especially after 7pm. What district manager is in charge of this region? Seriously? The inability to have product and witness staff talking in a group of 3. Consistently 3 days in a row. Without any tortillas to purchase. Bakery staff just sitting in the shut down dark while getting nothing done. Talking about coworkers to the point you'd want to ask if they'll ever have tortillas to purchase after 7pm at this location. Or is the 3 person conversing more important than actually working? I shop here nearly semi daily. Witnessing the young staff of incompetent individuals slack. Opposed to contributing to getting product in front of the consumer is pathetic in this day in age. The lack of concern at this location in the bakery and checkout later in the evening is abysmal.

Great selection, but getting gas here was not a pleasant experience. The pricing was very competitive, but it took me almost 10 minutes to fill up my truck due to how slow the pumps were.

This H‑E‑B is top choice for me. has so much more selection than the smaller HEB in town. I love the healthy food and produce much better than Walmart no question. if you dont like crowds come in morning before noon . The personal shoppers do get in the way but they move . To me the college youth working here makes the H‑E‑B experience unique when you’re used to shopping at different HEBs in other towns. Keep it up guys it’s tough at the only big one in town !

David ( 7 yes w/ HEB) helped me when he did not have to. I ordered some marigolds weeks ago and I knew that I needed to pick him up today, but due to my job being so hectic it totally slipped my mind. And I needed these marigolds for an important event tomorrow early am. So I called in a panic and tried to plead with someone to sell them to me even though the floral department was closed. David was so kind on the phone. He put me at ease and got my order ready by the time ai arrived, so that I can pay for it at the register. Thank you, David

I love this HEB. But the parking is so bad. No space to park. Since San Marcos is getting bigger I suggest a bigger HEB, like the outskirts of San Marcos going to Seguin. On that areas it has a lot of abandoned land.

Been shopping at HEB since 2005. Great prices and selections. And the Creamy Creations ice creams aren't bad either...

I just purchased one of your newest Creamy Creations limited edition flavor of white chocolate and chocolate mousse. The white chocolate ice cream was so smooth, light and creamy it was like heaven on a spoon. You need to sell this flavor on it's own. Then came the chocolate mousse that seemed to explode onto the scene. It seemed to say here I am to rock your taste buds and that it did. Again, this one needs it's own carton. It was just the right amount of chocolate snap and again smooth and creamy but not as light as the white. Perfect for what a chocolate mousse should be. Hope you will continue to make this flavor a regular thing. Unfortunately, I may have to buy a larger freezer to hold it all.

A unique grocery chain that appears to be all about customer service. Plenty of clerks at checkout and on the isles. Texas made foods and a fantastic Bakery ( check out the Napoleon dessert). Always crowded, but never waited too long for anything. Unique to Texas.. H.E.B.

ALWAYS with the fresh produce here!! I refuse to ship anywhere else for any kind of produce or meats. The only thing HEB is missing is a clothing line and I'd never go anywhere else lol
