This is my deceased mom’s favorite restaurant and I went to high school with the original owners family. The food is consistently good and affordable. The store has great selections so you can’t go wrong. 💜

Herberts is definitely my favorite restaurant for Tex-Mex food. They've got the best enchiladas and chicken fried steak. Their chicken enchilada verdes are the best. And the food always comes out very hot. This place is always super busy and it's because the food is so good. They are known for their enchilada gravy and have been voted just about the best of everything on the menu. Always very fast service and super friendly servers. If you want to grab a bite to eat and your in a hurry, this is the place to come because the food comes out so quick and hot. I love Herbert's and would recommend to family and friends. A true staple in San Marcos.
