November 2024 by Bridget M.
I'd like to start off by saying, I've been a patient for 3 1/2 years. I used to see Blaine Carmichael, his assistant, Susan, was a fantastic. The front desk ladies, have always been fantastic as well. Dr. Carmichael retired. I had to go in as a "new patient" to see the new physician, James Bell, in order to get my prescriptions refilled. From the start of trying to schedule the appointment on the portal, it's was nothing but problems. That's when I noticed the medic assistants name change in our chat, to Crystal H. Someone who has no business working in the medical field or any other field, that requires customer service. She was so rude, unprofessional & disrespectful from the get go. She was short in the chats, didn't explain anything, other than you need to make an appointment. She would just stop responding completely in chat. I'd have to call to get help from the front desk. After she took my weight, she just walked away, down the hallway, didn't tell me to follow. We get into the room, she is so rude, rolls her eyes, huffs and puffs as I attempt to explain why I'm there. Tells me I had never been prescribed sleeping medication- while looking at my information in the computer. That every other staff member looks at & tells me the 3 sleeping medications I had been prescribed over the years. Treated me like absolute crap. Didn't excuse herself, didn't say dr will be right in- she didn't say a word after her rampage of being hateful. Walks out and slammed the door behind her. Stood in the hallway, and loudly named off all the prescriptions I've been on- mocking my situation, that she knows nothing about. Makes the remark- "the icing on the cake, she doesn't even know what she wants to be on" and laughs. Laughs like ptsd is a joke. Depression. Insomnia. Anxiety. Are a joke. Someone that's struggles to make the appointment, to go in & be comfortable with a new provider. To be comfortable talking to someone about their entire life and trauma. By the time Dr Bell got in the room, I was shaking, and almost in tears I was so upset. I didn't even touch base on anything, I was so uncomfortable and ready to run out the door. I've never been treated so poorly, had my privacy violated by someone who's supposed to be there to advise, guide, help you. And a medial assistant. I told the front desk as I was checking out about my experience, and left crying. I called about an hour after leaving that day, to get her name & the office managers name. She's the one who answered, I asked for the office manager. She hung up. I called back again from my husband phone, asked the same thing, she gives his name & hers. I've been in contact with the office manager, and am waiting to hear back from them. But they did tell me, this isn't the first incident, involving Crystal in this exact situation. Hard to believe she's still around after multiple complaints about her behavior, attitude & way ahead communicates & treats people.

I’m sorry to have seen such low reviews for this office. I personally had such a good first experience. The ladies at the front desk were welcoming. My physician was great. She validated my concerns and we came up with a plan together. The lab technician was also very kind and efficient. Overall, I’m looking forward to returning for future visits.

PA Carmichael told me to schedule a follow up with him for my recovery of pneumonia. I received a call today at 3pm, the day before my appointment and I was told my "annual physical check up appointment" will be cancelled because he is unavailable. When I told the lady it was not for physical but for pneumonia, she was surprised but still told me it will have to be rescheduled or I can go to Urgent care. I told her the rescheduled time would not work for me and she proceeded to say "I don't think you heard me the first time, he is not available". Well, he was available 2 weeks ago when I scheduled and obviously since it showed up as "physical check up" and not "pneumonia", it was not important for him to see me the day before July 4th and they didn't care to even call me sooner than 3pm the day before. I had to request time off for the appointment and now I lose it for nothing. And then I has to listen to this lady condescending tone. It seems nobody in that office was trained about professionalism but hey, that's the Baptist's gold standard.
So if you are considering this place, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. They don't care about your wellness and their customer service talks to you like you are a beggar, that you have to beg for them to see you. Since they are so "heavenly high class" to care for my pneumonia, I will move all my family members to another primary care.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!
- Doctor left 9 months ago, still haven't replaced.
- The worst customer service from the front desk
- Just want you to come in for the fees and then refer you elsewhere

Horrible Experience!!! -No primary care doctor here for the last 9 months, I would be surprised if they ever replace the doctor. They keep saying they will but nothing. - Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever had from the front seat. They just don't care. It is clearly an inconvenience if you call. Had them actually tell me, "Well you can call back while you decide I have 2 other calls on hold." This was after no more than a 90 second conversation. WHAT???

I made an appointment on line and received a confirmation. When I arrived I was informed that I would have to reschedule because it didn’t go through on their end. I informed them that I took off work for this appointment and they absolutely did not care. I also informed that I would see a different provider and was told nope, I had to reschedule. Stay away from this place. Worst service ever

Truly great experience. Checkin was smooth, the facility was clean, and customer service was diligent.

I do not understand how this office has the reviews it has. Everything was smooth for me, from checking in, seeing the Dr, and checking out. I got lab work done as well. And the wait time to see the doctor and to get labs wasn’t bad at all. The nurses were great and when I tell you Dr. Carmichael was amazing, I would recommend her so much. My last visit with a medical office left me to the point where I was ready to never see a doctor again (it’s crazy that they have better reviews than this office because what!?) but she actually was so patient, kind, and listened to what I had to say in regards to my body. I’m so happy to have found this practice!!

The Baptist system is experiencing the results of a very poorly functioning management team, and has for over a year now.
The do not transition patients when a provider leaves.
Perhaps because no providers want to work for such a poorly managed company.

Never going back to this clinic. I scheduled an appointment for a physical exam and these idiots decide to ignore that and bill my insurance for a regular visit which, if I decide to pay will cost my over $200 instead of being fully cover because of their stupidity. Not only that but now I lost the $450 in HSA funds which the physical was meant to earn me. So over $650 lost over their error. Then when I ask them to fix it they have the audacity to
insinuate that my first visit can't be a physical exam...excuse me, there are plenty of people who will only see a doctor when they need to get a physical especially if they don't have an established primary. So try again...this is the very reason why I still see my real primary in Georgia. The doctors and staff here are sorry, manipulative and greedy.

Stay away. Good luck getting ahold of anyone or having them call you back. Most of the time the push you to the portal for everything. They send you reminders of appointments via text and then say it a was cancelled when you show up. They are always booked out months in advance so can never see anyone you need when you need to.... Just do yourself a favor and find a different doctors office.
