We did takeout here last Sunday evening for an early dinner. We ordered a half pound of Turkey, one pound of Brisket, one pound of Baby Back Ribs, and one link of Sausage. Our sides were one pint of Creamy Corn and one pint of Potato Salad. We also received sliced pickles, sliced onions, a loaf of bread and a container of barbecue sauce. All of the meats and sides were excellent. We will definitely return here again and would highly recommend you give this place a try. This restaurant does give a Military discount.Parking: Parking available right outside of restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: This place is wheelchair accessible.

They advertise their own slogan at this location “worst bar bbq in Texas” LITERALLY. $80 wasted, the beans were over cooked, potato salad was bland, cream corn was super watery. Unbelievable for this location to represent the Original Rudy’s Bar Bbq.

It lives up to the “Worst BBQ in Texas” slogan. We have been to other Rudy’s and they are really good. Sadly don’t take the road-sign as sarcasm for this place.

Stopped at 4:45 pm today to get Brisket, they told us it will take 45 Minutes to be ready, we weren't happy about it since we came from La Vernia, so we decided to go ahead and take Chicken only to be told that's going to take 45 minutes as well. Very disappointed,

3 Awkward Things : Restroom is tucked away, there were no 24-pks water available & they have super-large coolers but small drink variety. I like ALL the Dr Peppers, Cream Sodas and ALL the Pepsi types. - Please Stock. (Cherry, Cane Sugar, etc)As for the Food - I'm from North Texas (Amarillo) & this flavor, taste & preparation is as close as anyone have ever made IT: it's the Sop in BBQ Sauce Bread Folded over-Meat....eat until you're stuffed Guilty Pleasure. This place has an advantage, if you're heading out : it's just outside most S.A. Rush-Hour Traffic & you can avoid the distraction of New Braunsfels bbq-joints since they're not immediately off i35...more time & likely packed. Staff can be friendly...but they're quick to serve...very organized crews. Calm enough to eat outside & they're a semi-hidden parking area in the back. I stop here 3/4 times each S.A. exit because it's a great meal w/good prices.Parking: Roughly 20 unmarked parking spots, some room to fit 250 series w/trailers on occasion outside the car spots, also parking along fuel stop & the size street is actually wide enough for a short-2 lane allowing others to exit & you park along curb.Kid-friendliness: Indoor Eating Tables, Air Conditioned

Spent over $60.00 on a half rack ribs and a half pound of brisket. No sides. Brisket was tuff and ribs were the same. Threw it away. Won’t be going back.

It disheartens me to see other reviews, which in my opinion, does not match the quality of food and the quality of service that I received today. Is the food a little more expensive than other places, not for the quality that you get. My girlfriends and I spend around $50 for lunch which include 3 types of meet, brisket is our favorite and the turkey was amazing soft and juicy and a jalapeño sausage link. We had three drinks and we both got a dessert. The true rating should be around 4.5 - 4.7. Keep up the great working and keeping the quality standard high.

Used to live in Texas and have eaten at several different Rudy's. Ate at one in New Mexico, too. Loved all my meals. Whenever I visit Texas, I try to hit Rudy's a couple times. The moist brisket was not moist but kind of chewy. I never get BBQ sauce because its usually so flavorable. Pretty bland. Big disappointment as thats my favorite dish. Creamed corn was fine and both kinds of sausages were good. The ladies in the store and behind the BBQ counter were great. Very friendly. I should have read the reviews first. The bad ones mentioned the brisket. Probably make another Rudy's visit before I head home, but not at this location. Would not recommend.

I have eaten here for decades, but today my brisket was dry and chewy, instead of tender. When I mentioned it, the pitmaster asked if I ordered moist? I explained I've eaten here dozens of time and never specified type of brisket??? Was always good! I hope this was a one off. Too expensive to spend my money on tough brisket.

Employees treat you like they are doing you a favor and the guy that picks the meat does not ask but Kinda demands for you to pick something making you feel pressured not being in the for more than 1 minute they want you order right away not knowing if it's your first time eating there .I asked for a sandwich and I was told that they don't sell that but without giving you any other options just shutting you down .I will take my hunger somewhere else .

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be my favorite BBQ spot but I’ll stick to 3M for my BBQ needs from now on. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.
