My grandson and I visited this place with the hope to adopt a cat. We arrived at 2:15 only to discover that the place was closed! Hours state that it's open till 5 pm. We were so extremely disappointed.

This facility is so very well maintained! The animal care services team/officers are always polite, professional and informative!. THIS is how I wish all animal care facilities were run. Kudos to them! Also, there is Meghan , that manages everything wonderfully!!!

My first visit to this facility on my quest to find a companion for my old man. While the pup we met with wasn't a good fit for my boy, everyone was so nice. The facility is beautiful and clean and the animals well cared for.

Terrible, Terrible service. If I could give below one start I would. Very unwelcoming. Extremely rude and racist employees. Avoid this location at all costs. Black haired Lady with glasses and nasty attitude should be fired along with the male employee brian. Do not adopt a pet from here if they treat people this way i can't imagine the way they treat the animals in their care.

Don’t get attached to any of the animals here! You’ll tell them you’re interested and want to fill out an application and instead of seeing who the best fit is they’ll adopt out any animal as long as you’ve got the money! We spent 30 minutes here and fell in love with a cat (who we were literally JUST told had no applications) only to be told she was JUST applied for and adopted in a matter of 5 minutes. Wasn’t even given an option to apply to let them SEE our application. Gross.

6-21-23, I had found 3 kittens around 5 weeks old. I took them here and found out they couldn't take them because I found them in Garden Ridge. They were super helpful and compassionate. I wish they could've taken them because everywhere else I went was horrible and no help. (Spend all day trying to find homes for them, luckily a woman was able to home them and they are all in their new homes)

Picked up live trap to catch feral cats living under neighbors home. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They want me to try to get the momma cat if I can, so they can spay and release her back because they help control the rodent population.

I took my cat, Sunkist, to be chipped today. Very caring and professional staff here! It didn’t take very long and they said my cat was great. As he wondered up on my porch I didn’t know his age or anything about him. He had gotten his shots on Sunday so could get chopped today. Thank you for having such wonderful staff, Claire and Nikki!

I adopted a cat from here two years. When I adopted her they told me multiple times that she was a year old. This past month she started having health issues and I kept getting the run around from different vets because I kept telling them she was only three so they didn’t think to look into diseases that affect older cats. I ended up having to take her to a specialist who realized that she was actually 14/15. I understand that they could make a mistake about the age and be a few years off but by 11/12 years is crazy! I just wanted to warn anyone else adopting a pet here to be careful about the ages that they tell you.

Poorly run. They should change their name to citizens animal control because they make the citizens of schertz to do their job. My wife picked up a trap, You have to put a deposit on the trap, they don’t show you how to setup the trap, you have to setup the trap, trap the animal for them. All they do is pickup the Animal. Poorly run, no instructions how to setup the trap. We pay taxes for this service and no service is provided.

Amazing staff! Very friendly and helpful. I went in looking for a kitten and I left the same day with a kitty I know is healthy and well taken care of. My sweet kitten now named Maya but was previously Muffin. Before my departure with my new furry friend three or four members of the staff had to make sure they got in snuggles and pets before goodbye and I couldn't be happier to know she is coming from such a loving facility. The cats and kittens are well taken care of and from what I could tell the doggies there were well fed and well managed.

We adopted a puppy at the Easter event in the park. We filled out the application and were told that we couldn't take her home since we had another dog. We had to take him to meet and greet with our new puppy first, but the lary told us we were basically the owners unless the dogs didn't get along. We understood, so we went home got our dog and stopped by Pollys pet shop to buy a bed, a collar, a leach, etc for our new baby. When we got to Schertz Animal Services we saw another family waking out with OUR puppy. I was so upset. My daughters were crying. We just walked out. Ten minutes later I calmed down and called the center. I asked for a manager and was told they dont work weekends ( it was a Saturday) but I was told they would call me back on Monday. It is now Thursday and haven't heard from them. Worst experience ever!!!!

I adopted my baby girl from Schertz. She was beautiful. She had some health issues but she lived a very happy life. She was a poodle and my heart is breaking because she recently passed away.

They are very caring people. They took care of my dog over and beyond their responsibility. And they are very kind and understanding to us the pet owners as well. Can't thank them enough.
