Its got a good selection of stuff but you will pay more for it. Don't go if you are in a hurry it takes at least 20 minutes to check out even if there is only 2 people in line. They usually only have 1 register open. The cashier will be really annoyed that they have to do something

I have to agree with some of the newer reviews. I used to love going to Arlan's, as it is only 2 minutes from my apartment. However, ever since the buyout, the prices are exorbitant.
I go out of my way to drive 20 minutes to the closest HEB now. Strawberries were nearly 6 dollars for one pound. When they are on sale, they are already mold ridden.
I will say, Arlan's is useful for when I need to cry. I just have to sit there and look at the prices.

They carry brands the locals prefer. A little higher prices than heb or kroger, but a clean easy place to shop. Arlan's is a smaller grocery chain so it's as expected but cleaner than others like Brooks Brothers

Arlans has really changed after the buy out. This place smells soooo bad now. The meet area is disgusting.

The only thing good about this store anymore is that a few of the same people still work here since the buyout. Produce is usually terrible meat is always too thin cut they never have the large strawberry yogurt and the prices are ridiculously high on most things.

I was buying soft drinks. The girls on the lane 2 and 3 appeared to be bussy on their phone; I went to lane 3 and I was ignored; I moved to lane 2; the ignorance continued with a discracefull laugh... I am not sure what qualifies these persons to be cashiers, but their service is less than satisfactory.

Small but convenient grocery store. *Update: perfect little market to pick up just in time items.

Store is dirty. Produce doesn't last 1-2 days at home. Staff is rude.
I miss the REAL Arlans!!!

I've been shopping at Arlands for a while, but I've noticed some significant changes in their product selection recently that have been disappointing:
1. Candy selection: The store has removed many popular candy brands that most customers are familiar with. It would be great to see a better balance of well-known treats alongside any new offerings.
2. Baking essentials: I was unable to find white cornmeal, which is a staple ingredient for many recipes. It's frustrating when basic cooking items are no longer available.
3. Overall product range: There's been a notable shift in the types of products carried. While I appreciate the store trying to diversify its offerings, many new items are unfamiliar to me and seem to have replaced products I regularly purchased.
4. Navigation: With the changes in product selection, it's become more challenging to locate items I'm looking for. Better signage or organization would be helpful.
I hope Arlands considers restocking some of these missing items or finding a better balance between new products and longtime customer favorites. Having a dedicated section for specialty items while maintaining a robust selection of common groceries could improve the shopping experience for all customers.

The prices aren't lower than anywhere else but the customer service was good

Arlins not cheap, but it's produce second to none. Love their huge carrots that have the best flavor for roasts.

Under new management since December. Look at all of the highly rated reviews, they all came before Mr. Arlan sold out last year. The meat department used to be so good for a store of this size. I had great expectations for the meat department since the new owners were supposedly experts at meat. I was wrong, new management has destroyed the meat department. I mean, if you want a perfect ribeye cut to 1/2”, this is your place. If you want to grill a steak, go somewhere else.
