Me and Hubby went last night for dinner. It was his first time visiting the cafe and I hadn't been here in a long time (maybe 15 years) I was really looking forward to eating here again. Hubby ordered the buffalo wings and the Ahi tuna. I ordered the seafood platter with the gumbo. For dessert, we had a piece of carrot cake and apple pie to take home with us. We also ordered a bowl of gumbo to-go to bring back to our daughter. The buffalo wings were good but a little overcooked to me but hubby ate them up. The Ahi tuna looked delicious but he was disappointed in the plate for the $18 price. My $27 seafood platter looked good but the grilled redfish was REALLY dry and looked like someone ripped off half the fish. This wasn't edible. The shrimp was very fresh and tasty, the oysters on the platter were tiny and disappointing and the NOLA crab cake was very mushy and gross. But, the worst was the Gumbo!!!! The rue was burnt and you could smell it was burnt. When it came out I thought it was red beans and rice it was so thick and probably the worst Gumbo I've ever had in my life. I should have stuck with the French dip because that was always good in the past. Carrot cake was on point and very delicious and the young man waiting on us was great! He was very busy but still attentive!

The waitress was really nice and did a great job. I got the sausage and cheese omelet the eggs were smooth they kinda tasted like hotel eggs and the cheese wasn't really cheese it was literally the craft American cheese slices. I mean it is 11.50 but it was mid, the home fries tasted like they were old and refried. I also got French toast and they were super eggy. The food overall was okay but I wouldn't go back. I can't speak for everything on the menu, maybe lunch is better.

Our waitress was very kind and professional. We had never been here before. She talked us through menu options. The spinach Artichoke dip was phenomenal! It was served Chicago style- minus the sour cream.Vegetarian options: There's ample vegetarian/pescatarian selections.

Extremely loud in the restaurant, and the food was NOT good. It seems like the food is literally prepackaged frozen food from a grocery store. There is no flavor. I am not exaggerating. The crab cakes HAVE to be from the ‘store brand’ bag in the frozen food aisles. The English muffins are indistinguishable from the ones in a bags at the grocery store. What an absolute rip off. The portions are small and the food was so disappointing.

Food is good, used to be a little better back in the day but overall it’s good. Atmosphere is chill. However, the food did get a little pricy over the years. The best thing in the menu in my opinion is the Cuban Sandwich, the Grilles chicken breast (blackened), and the steak special they have on Tuesdays. Banana pudding is incredible but very limited here.

Small town feel at this local eatery. If not full service is prompt.
