“A historical marker on the exterior of Hotel Texan denotes the historic nature of this hotel. Everything in the room works (refrigerator, electric fireplace, flat screen TV) and is clean. This is not a contemporary or upscale hotel, but we enjoyed the stay, especially with the antiques and quaint atmosphere. While you're in town, check out the Museum for Loop and Seagraves, which is conveniently located about a block down on Main Street. The large display related to Quanna Parker and American Indian artifacts were impressive. Many other items of interest as well. We also recommend the pizza and ice cream place located next door to the hotel.
Rooms: Queen size and ours had the adjoining sitting area with a sofa and TV.
Nearby activities: The Museum for Loop and Seagraves was informative and enjoyable. It's definitely something for everyone to enjoy: American Indian artifacts, old Ford automotive, handmade quilts, vintage wedding dress, etc.
Safety: Seems to be safe and encourages lawful firearm carry.
Walkability: Walking to the museum or other places is very doable on the sidewalks.
Food and drinks: The room has bottled water, and the lobby maintains coffee, muffins, and other items.
Noteworthy details: This is a place to sleep and unwind when the winds are blowing that glorious red sand 35 miles an hour.”
