I went in for a chipped front tooth and to get it repaired. I walked out of there 3 hours later with no work done, a mark on my credit inquiry and a defeated feeling! I was going to be charged $4500 for a cleaning and a crown over my chipped tooth. Indeed I do have dental insurance, but as most know if you carry dental insurance, it’s terrible. Only half of that cost would be covered. So for my chipped tooth I would need $2300.00 for the repair! But I could finance that if needed (mentioned mark on my credit). When I begged for just a filling for aesthetic purposes, I was told that they do not do aesthetic repairs. They do it right and will not budge to just give someone a temporary filling that needs something else. It was very disappointing. All I wanted was a filling. Something simple. But instead I got nothing except even lower self esteem than I had prior to walking into their office. My tooth is still chipped and I don’t have $2300 to get it repaired. I spent all my time at this office instead at an office that could have helped me with what I wanted. The entire visit they kept assuring me that my chipped tooth was priority but in the end, I see how much at what price! I recommend discussing first hand once you walk in with the money you have to spend on your dental and the repair your seeking. Maybe then they won’t waste even their time trying to nickle and dime you and make you feel unaccomplished and worthless for wanting a simple repair. But I do have to commend the x-ray tech, the hygienist and the receptionist on their etiquette and tact. They were very nice and had a very kind demeanor about them. The doctor was kind as well, but not by one to adhere to customer satisfaction. She refused to fix the tooth except in the way she wanted and did not care what my wishes were. I would have most likely been a long term patient based on the other 3’s warm welcome, but a dentist who is that stubborn and won’t try and appease their patients even for a temporary fix until they could save the money for the repair she suggested, just tells me that I am best to go somewhere else. Never have I ever had an experience like that where the dentist Will not help their patient feel better about their smile immediately. Funny how on the new patient paperwork it randomly asks the patient how they feel about their smile. Aparently they don’t care so why even ask that question!

Wasted 2 hours of my time. I made an appointment for regular preventive cleaning with them because they’re in-network and that is free under my insurance policy. When I got there I mentioned it to receptionist, dental assistants, doctor, hygienist, etc. while I was put through X-rays, 3D scans, exams, etc. After all of that (and no cleaning) I was taken to an office where I was given a quote for thousands of dollars worth of work. I declined and asked for what I went for originally. They gave me a quote for $700+ for that. I told them it was free under my insurance and they told me it wasn’t because I was a new patient (which they did not mention at all). 2 hours off work for nothing!! Oh, and of course they submitted a claim to my insurance for the X-rays and everything else I did not ask for. Hope your $200 of insurance claim was worth it!

My visit consisted of x rays, cleaning, and post treatment plan and it was a smooth process. My dentist was very informative and the other staff were very friendly

Get a second opinion!!!!Is this place under new management? The reviews have tanked lately, the more recent reviews are in line with our experience. First off, the hygienists are amazing. But this new dentist lady, name starts with an M, seems to want do unnecessary work. After having good care here for a year, suddenly both my wife & my mother in law were quoted multiple thousands of dollars for EXTENSIVE dental work (talking 5+ visits worth of work). This was suspicious because just 6 months beforehand everything was in perfect order. They told my wife one of her teeth was dead! They ended up getting second opinions and it turns out different dentists didn’t seem to think any work needed to be done! No dead teeth! Were they looking at the wrong chart or something??? I don’t want to assume any crooked behavior so I’ll assume incompetence and move my family’s dental care elsewhere.

DISHONEST. I’m terribly dissatisfied and disappointed with this practice. I should have followed my instincts and cancel my appointment after being told a cleaning wasn’t going to be done at the first appointment. The space next to the X-rays where printers are is dusty. (I wanted to leave at that point but unfortunately didn’t). The hygienist pushed on my gums at the perio chart to justify a deep cleaning when I have never needed one and that was confirmed today at a second opinion appt (different practice of course). They came up with a 7k plan out of nowhere. I felt extremely uncomfortable and didn’t trust the assessment because I’m not ignorant. Please stay away or at least look for a second opinion. The receptionist is very nice and Xray tech too. That’s the only positive I can share.

Well if I could give -0 I would… this was the worst dentist office I’ve ever been to. The receptionist at the time was very unprofessional took my husband’s phone number from my chart then began texting him ,sending pictures of herself introducing herself asking other questions. The Orthodontist that I would be scheduled to see was never there, out of about 20-25 appointments I saw him like twice. The day of my surgery he was absent so they had a fill-in dentist who extracted my top teeth for implants but left fragments of broken tooth (which I found out months later when I began having a toothache out of nowhere ). After getting my bottom teeth extracted and screws put in place and waiting the 6 month healing process I never saw the dentist anymore it was always the hygienist or a fill-in dentist that didn’t really know what was going on. I had problems throughout the healing process of pain with the temporary dentures provided for me so I had to return multiple times still not getting the problem fixed…. To make it even worse the orthodontist that was assigned to me at Aspen Dental moved to another city (unbeknownst to me) to far for me to drive so when it was time for my next appointment and there was a new dentist that is when I found out I would have pay AGAIN for the services that I had already prepaid in full for, because they had got a new dentist. I paid $7000 in cash, 1500 on a credit card and my insurance covered the rest… now the new dentist wanted me to pay over 10,000 for his service…. It was truly unfair to try and make me pay again for services I clearly had prepared for it’s not my fault their dentist quiet… I went back and forth with this this office for several weeks only to get very little of my prepaid money returned to me, never got my permit implants….. Aspen Dental was truly horrible.

I’m a new patient with aspen dental. I came in for a toothache and left with a full treatment plan. The office staff is very friendly and I am always greeted by name with Joss at the front desk. She is always smiling and so nice during check in and check out. The hygienist is amazing! She talks to you in a way that helps you understand the course of treatment and why. Dr. Mathiyazhagan also came in and went over the plan with me . Julie is heaven sent ! There is another assist who helped me both times that talked to me about books before my treatment . I am always anxious when I visit the dentist but this team helped with that amazingly! I will forever recommend this practice for anyone looking for a dental office . My only complaint is time management but not bad enough to remove a star.

O would like to the say that front desk, dental assistant, dental Hygiene and Dr were all great and represent Aspen well BUT when it came down to the dollar figures with the Office Manager very very poor business, I was told a high dollar figure not even willing to call my insurance to confirm coverage and expectation was to apply for a loan and it cover that figure and if insurance comes back and does cover it I would get a credit. She even said well good luck calling your insurance cause they are rude and don't help. My thought was why should I be doing your JOB 1. And 2. You are the end valley your team did great but you failed them and the business by not going the extra mile and putting this dollar figures right. So never will I go back. Felt like a scam??♀️

Had a horrible tooth ache over the weekend. Arrived at appt time & seen for X-rays in about 10 mins;, thorough explanation of teeth health by the hygienist. Dr came in soon & poked around my mouth, talked about my dental health; then went to finance. That took the longest due to insurance company putting the finance agent call on hold. Teeth plan explained and insurance cut the cost almost in 1/2. Then went to see the Dr for the extraction. That took about 10 mins including numbing. So, I’d say this Aspen location in the Forum in Selma, TX, gets you in and out quickly, and efficiently. The staff is very friendly. I was pretty nervous about the extraction but the Dr got it done quickly with only minor pain from the numbing injections.Update: Now very disappointed. I asked the staff twice after my visit to email me my treatment plan so I could decide what to do and when to do it. Both the finance rep and front desk rep said they would that day when I called them. They never did so now I will look for another dentist.
