I have to give 5 stars to Sydnee. I am a first time client of hers and now will be her client permanently. She did an amazing job on my hair. Before she started we talked about what I would like to have done and I showed her pictures of hairstyles and colors that I liked. She listened to what I said then she gave me her suggestions. We decided on touching up my roots then adding highlights finished with a haircut and style. She even showed me tips on how to style it. I’m in love with my hair. If I could give her 6 Stars I would. I definitely recommend seeing Sydnee for your next hair appointment. I also have to say that Judy’s Loft was a beautiful salon with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Thank you again Sydnee. Can’t wait to see you in September.Services: Shampoo & conditioning

I am pretty low maintenance with my hair. However, I have constantly been ignored by stylists when making requests. I have never returned to the same stylist. Sydnee booked my first appointment & free 30 min consultation. She listens to my hair goals & my drama. ? I started going here over a year ago. After my first appointment I knew I would never go to another hair salon. I chose this place, because of the amazing backstory on their website. Miss Judy is a badass and people fly in just to have their hair done here. I always feel welcomed & loved. The salon is always clean. My hair is healthy & growing. I book my next appointment before I leave & when it it gets close, I am so excited to go visit and get fresh! I believe their pricing is fair too.

I was traveling through the area and needed a color/root touchup and Judy's Loft uses the same wonderful Framesi hair dye as my home salon. What a great experience I had! Judy and her staff created such a warm, welcoming and professional atmosphere in the salon. My hair color was perfect and Judy gave me a fabulous blowout, lots of soft curls in my naturally staight hair. If I return to San Antonio I will definitly visit Judy's Loft.Services: Shampoo & conditioning

Trash service and rude employee with glasses shoulder length hair and long wrinkle face woman (Judy) was very rude on the highway during traffic jam. It was a mandatory merge Judy there was no need to keep pushing us out of the lane we all had to merge into. There was an accident you were trying to push us into. I mean you laid on your horn like you were really going to get anywhere faster. What happened to your patients?

I'll start by saying that this review is about 1.5 years late. It's taken about that long for my hair to grow out to a workable length in order to go to another salon to correct it. I went to Judy's early 2021. I'd read the reviews & was convinced I finally found someone who would actually listen to what I wanted in a haircut. After years of mediocre haircuts, I assumed that since I wasn't paying super high dollar, maybe paying a little more would end in a better result. Nope. PROLOGUE: To begin, I went in at the height of the pandemic--COVID cases were rampant at that point. Immediately upon entering, I very quickly saw that next to no one wore a mask--Judy included. This was an immediate red flag, given that masks were still required at the time. However, I put it aside & sat down while I waited for my consultation. She came over, & told me in a hushed tone "You don't have to wear that around here," which honestly made me want to put on about 10 more masks. I said I was fine & she asked me what I wanted. SCENE I: I showed Judy about 3423 pictures, pointing out what I liked. I came into this knowing full well what cut & color I wanted. I wanted layers, some side bangs, & balayage. I already had layers, as well as long-ish bangs. I didn't ask her to reinvent my entire look. I am not Mia Thermopolis, heir to the kingdom of Genovia. I wasn't trying to create a makeover montage. Judy was quick to tell me it was too much change. She pulled out her color bible & said balayage was not the best option (ok?) but instead she could lighten it with another technique. She showed me some samples based on my hair color. She told me what kind of cut she would do & I sat down to wait. Mind you, Judy (at least at the time) was the only person allowed to hold a pair of scissors so she quickly consulted with me with one person in the chair & my friend in the bullpen, then it would be my turn. I just knew I was looking at a ridiculous wait. SCENE II: I waited & waited. Then wouldn't you know it, I waited some more. I literally sat in a corner holding my breath (with my mask) because so many people came in & Judy told them all they didn't need theirs. Then, finally, it was my turn for my color. Judy calls over someone she calls a color expert & come to find out, it was her 2nd day. Totally fine. Given that the law states only Judy can hold scissors, it makes sense that others have to do everything else. Judy tells her what to do, what products to use, etc. The girl (the expert, I thought) asked about another technique but Judy held her micromanager ground. The employee did what she was told. After she was done, I was under the dryer for a while. Judy is cutting hair while everyone else was sitting around waiting for something to do. She came over & peeled the foil a few times & would say something like "Yeah, we're getting there" or "Just a little bit more" but I was under there a while. I felt like a drumstick at KFC. Once my scalp started to burn, my hair was then washed & I sat back in the lounge to wait for my life to end... I mean, wait for my turn in the chair. SCENE III: I sat down in the chair & immediately didn't like my hair color. Judy assured me it would look better when dry or some semi-soothing remark. She starts to cut my hair & the thing is, just PRATTLED on endlessly about s*** I simply don't care about. I learned every pet peeve this woman has. I am not wearing a mask at this point given that she is literally cutting hair off my head but she still could have. But nope. I got to hear an earful of her personal thoughts on masks & a number of other topics. Also, just as a side note, this haircut took FOREVER. I was not getting much cut, yet time just slowly rolled on & life slowly drained from me. I knew about halfway through this was going to be a horrible haircut. My bangs stood on end & it reminded me of the time I cut my own hair when I was 5. I had n

Judy why did you treat us badly in a mandatory merge? Laying on your horn like we were really expected to not merge? We were not going to get anywhere any faster so why be so rude and so impatient? I thought stylist were more compassionate than what you showed us. Just baffled by a woman of your age when the highways are already unsafe as it is. You really could have caused another accident being like that.

I've had bad experiences at hair salons. My hair is thick and dark. Therefore I get upcharged or the look I wanted is not executed because it takes extra work. I, thankfully, did not have a bad experience at Judy's Loft. As soon as I walked in, they acknowledged me, asked my name, introduced themselves, and it was very welcoming. There are complimentary drinks and snacks provided as well. They consult you before doing anything to your hair which includes the history of your hair, the goals you want to reach for it etc. Most places skip over that, not forming any kind of relationship with the customer. I had previous dye in my hair when going in so I was wanting someone who would be attentive and careful. I wanted to achieve a very light hair color which meant a lot of possible harsh product. The process was done carefully, continually checked to ensure my hair was healthy and intact as well.(it came out great and fully intact by the way) They had timers set at their workstations to ensure you wouldn't oversit in products as well which made me feel comfortable and knowing it would be hard to forget about me sitting there with the beeping going off. However they included me in conversations the whole time so my worries all melted away. They also provide makeovers, manicures, pedicures, and certain waxing as well. I've never felt comfortable in a hair salon of any kind until coming here. I'd recommend this place to anyone. They are very kind, welcoming and professional.Service: Hairstyling

The most comprehensive consultation I’ve ever had at a salon. It was great to have someone like Judy ask all the right questions, some of which I had never considered about my hair. Although so important to get your desired results! And that I did!Such a welcoming environment where you feel like family! Her staff Sydnee and Patience help bring that spirit home!Looking forward to my next visit and love love love my hair! I feel sassy and confident with the knowledge needed from Judy to easily style my hair at home!

Judy has been my hair stylist for several years now, so when my daughter got engaged I knew I needed her to make our hair wedding perfect! She, along with Sydnee on makeup, did not disappoint. They treated us to a morning of pampering and beauty! I would highly recommend them both for your special day!Services: Hairstyling
