Nayeli and Julie were truly a gift from God for me! I came in with a disaster on my head that needed major color correcting and they worked with me and accommodated my budget and were so amazing and sweet! They truly turned my hair into something beautiful that I could feel confident about. I do wish I was able to tip with my card because I didn’t have cash on me and would’ve loved to tip them for the incredible job they did. I will definitely be back to see them:)

If you’re coming for an education, I would honestly rate the school 2.5 stars but seeing that it’s not giving me the option. I’ll just give it 3 to be kind. The education alone is basic and you get honestly all you need to pass the state board, they do prepare you well for that and I was able to pass both the written and the practical on the first try so there are no complaints there. As for some of the educators that are hired there, I genuinely wonder what process the hiring staff went through to decide that these were the correct people to train future stylists. Some of these educators are genuinely so hateful and mean, and they talk bad about students to other educators AND fellow students, and some of them are so lazy when it comes to training you that if you ask for help on certain things such as a root tap or curtain bangs, they will fully do the service for you instead of teaching you how to do it, and you don’t really learn anything at all because they just make you watch what they do. As someone who learns HANDS ON this was not beneficial at all, and it did not help retain any information. It’s just lazy and unprofessional and it makes it very hard once you’re in a salon with your license after school and you have clients coming in for the most basic services that you are struggling with because your school didn’t prepare you with the hands-on education that you needed.. Granted it is not all educators, and there is a small handful that I adore and thank to this day for getting me to where I am now, but I do believe that some of them have to be replaced due to their lack of professionalism and care. Another thing, I messaged the school about a month ago with all of the information that they would need to send me my diploma, the email I got back was super unprofessional and short, did not give me any information whatsoever and on top of that I have yet to receive my diploma in the mail. I do not live any further than 15 miles from the school, my daily drive was about 20 minutes, so I’m wondering what the heck is taking so long to send me my credentials? If you are wanting to get your license in cosmetology and or aesthetics, I would highly recommend it since the industry is very fun, but I will say research every option and find what works for YOU the best. It’s very hard mentally, but if you have educators who know what they are doing and actually care about you and all of your concerns, it makes it so much easier!

Lydia is absolutely amazing! She is very kind and friendly, very talented with haircuts. I showed her a picture of what I was wanting for a new haircut, she said it would work great on my hair. She did an amazing job with my haircut. The whole experience was fantastic! I will be going back to Lydia in the future.

I got my hair done at Aveda on 07/08- a bleach and tone and trim.
From the get go the staff was incredibly kind to me and my sister. They were very laid back and yet super professional. Alexis N did my hair, and I have never been more satisfied with any sort of hairstyling, she was absolutely phenomenal in both hospitality and skill. After this, I plan to come back every single time I need my hair done. Everyone there made the environment feel so wonderful and welcoming!
I can’t imagine getting my hair done anywhere else, and I’m absolutely floored by how fantastic it turned out, 10/10 amazing experience I can’t recommend it enough.

I had such a great experience at the Aveda School - Shenandoah with Jackie! Even though she’s in her final phase of training, her skills really impressed me. Many of the students here are incredibly talented and professional.
One of the instructors, Julie, stood out with her wealth of knowledge and expertise—it’s clear she’s passionate about guiding the next generation of stylists. Her credibility and support make a big difference in the learning environment.
I highly recommend coming here for hair services. Not only do you get quality work at a great value, but you’re also helping students gain hands-on experience under close supervision. You might even meet your future favorite hairdresser here!

I had an appointment for 11:00 and after waiting until 11:25 I approached the front desk to ask about my appointment. She Says she’ll look into it. 10 minutes later she tells me my stylist is on a break. So I asked to speak with a manager. 5 minutes later a woman ‘the lead educator’ comes to the lobby and approaches me. Says my stylist is setting up. No explanation or apology. I questioned her about why or how this could occur and she states several times ‘we aren’t a salon’ and haircuts can take 2 hrs here. Evidently that gives them free range to keep you waiting. obviously after making a mistake in scheduling an appointment with a student during her break time isn’t a big deal to them. ‘The lead educator’ was very rude and condescending and had absolutely no intention of apologizing for THEIR mistake and suggested I cancel my appointment since I obviously would probably not be happy with their services. I’m sure this doesn’t happen often but it’s a shame customer service is so lacking and unimportant to people in lead positions.

So disappointed that after years of going to get my hair colored and highlights for years, they have drastically changed with their instructors and customer service. Even though the phone operator assured me that she would put me with some one that would have experience then they didn’t honor that promise when I showed up for my appointment today even though I explained to them that a couple of years ago I had a traumatic experience with one of the new students who took 8 hours to highlight my hair and the instructors never even noticed or try to help. I finally had to leave with only highlights and no color. I was able to make an appointment right away at another place and the price is the same if not cheaper. Never going back. The front desk girls were rude and unapologetic.

Had my facial with Gabrielle Wilson and it was amazing. She picked out the best products to use and my skin was instantly rejuvenated. I walked out with a beautiful glow. My skin hasn’t felt this great in many years. Thank you Gabrielle! Can’t wait to come back.

I was a student at this hell hole for over a year, their entire program is based around marketing and making Aveda money. Countless hours I would spend doing hair and services in horrible conditions. They make you work from 9am to 8pm they neglect breaks and only care about fitting as many clients into a students day as they can. The educators and staff are so rude very few of them I could stand, the favoritism is absolutely insane if all the teachers and administrators don't like you your life here will be hell along with all of them being in so much drama amongst themselves AND STUDENTS these grown adults are taking mess about teenagers an young adults it's embarrassing and disgusting, let alone the fact most of them don't even know what they are doing. Or refuse to do their job regardless. I received very little help and was lied too for 90% of the program. They lie about the rules of the program and make youre life 10 times harder. they never gave me any services I wanted to learn or specialize in, I was told I would be a makeup artist here and only got one education day of makeup and was completely ignored when I expressed I wasn't getting the education I needed to better my career and future, continuing to be over worked and blasted with the same harsh work days that consumed of the same services for months on end. that's not to mention the more quiet students that got bunbarded with even more work . Avada seems to build on such a beautiful story I truly hope the business can be slowly rebuilt with better staff and a better way of handling the salon floor and education. If you are thinking about going to this school I truly hope you read the reviews ( they offer awards to students that make clients give 5 star reviews so most if the 5 star reviews are fake) find a place that will actually care about you you're educated and future. And no I'm not intersted in speaking to any marketing team unless it's about getting my money back for this poor education/ experience.

Inconsistent quality. I usually have a good experience with getting a haircut here, but the front desk lady just said I had an attitude and hung up on me when I asked to reschedule an appointment I had already scheduled 2 weeks ago but apparently did not get written down.

If you find yourself going through these reviews looking for a stylist Kahlan is your girl. She did my partial highlight today and it turned out beautifully! She was so kind and made sure I was happy every step of the way. Overall great atmosphere as well. The instructors (if that's what you call them) were also very kind and professional and seemed so eager to be monitoring and assisting the girls if they needed help. ❤️
