I have to take a moment to brag on Lynda Shroads at Ethan Allen in The Woodlands. My husband and I walked in during August just to browse. Our house was still under construction, and we had zero intention of buying anything. We just wanted to see what was out there so we’d be ready when the time came. We even made a deal before walking into each store that we wouldn’t talk to any associates. We were strictly looking.
Well… that didn’t last long.
We were testing out a chair when Lynda walked by. She asked if we needed help, and of course we said no. But she somehow made us feel so welcomed, and there was absolutely no pressure. I’m a very picky person, and I usually have a hard time taking anyone else’s design advice. I assumed she’d have a completely different style than me, but somehow, she totally got me.
Next thing we know, we’d spent three hours with her in the store, looking through pieces and fabric samples. We ended up scheduling a home consultation, even though I didn’t feel like the house was ready for anyone to see. She came over and spent another four hours with us. When we finally went back to the store, she had everything ready, all the fabrics and pieces we loved, beautifully staged.
We ended up buying a sofa, four armchairs, two stools for the living room, and two more stools for my office, beautiful rug and very detailed pillows. Everything turned out perfect. She even drove over an hour to drop off a pillow that needed to be corrected. Her manager brought extra fabric I had ordered. The level of service was just incredible. And yes, we were fully furnished and ready to host the holidays that year.
Lynda has been a dream to work with. She’s so organized, thoughtful, and truly talented. And beyond all that, she’s become a really good friend. I’m so grateful we crossed paths with her. Hoping to have her over soon for pool and wine nights. She took my vision and brought it to life, and I truly can’t recommend her enough. Here are a few pictures of what she helped design.

You’ve got to ask for Lynda. She’s incredible. My husband and I originally stopped in just to browse, with zero intention of buying anything. That all changed once we met Lynda. She took the time to understand our style and what we were hoping to find, and from there, she took the lead. She showed us pieces we had completely overlooked, but once she shared her vision and explained how everything could be customized, it all started to come together. She even came by our home a couple of times, measured everything, and made sure the pieces would work in our space before we made any decisions. Lynda is truly one of a kind, and I’m so grateful we found her. She completely transformed our home.

We had problems with this location many years ago, after which we happened to find Rabia at the Katy location. Not as convenient for us, living in The Woodlands, but Rabia and we made it work. We loved working with her, so we were overjoyed to learn that Rabia moved to the Shenandoah location and that there was new management there, which she said was great. We did a master bedroom remodel, with design help from Rabia and the manager David. Both are super nice, helpful, and eager to design something that is in your own style which you’re going to love for a long time. Yes, things are pricey, but you’re paying for quality, and sometimes items can take a while to come in and get delivered, but it’s worth the wait. Rabia even came to the house on her day off (!) to meet the delivery folks, so she could make sure everything was in the right place and take that burden off us. We’re thrilled with how it all looks! We have been Ethan Allen customers since 1999. Our new designer, Martin Bucci, has been so helpful in helping us transition from dark woods/jewel tone upholstery to neutrals. We literally walked in on a Saturday morning and were welcomed by reception and Martin. He offered fabrics and wood finish options that truly met our needs. No pressure sales and willing to be our designer long term as we renovate and slowly convert to a new palette. The quality of Ethan Allen products is impeccable- our 1999 sofa really only needs refreshed cushions. We are consistently impressed with customer service- and in home consultation. The 3D pictorial really helps bring it all together. Martin’s home visit to measure space for a custom rug was so helpful as he was able to better understand our needs and preferences.
Ethan Allen doesn’t disappoint and they truly welcome a long term designing relationship.

My husband and I were doing comparison shopping for replacement furniture for our living area, and walking into the Woodlands Ethan Allen was the best shopping experience we'd had. Rabia Shaikh greeted us at the door with an already enthusiastic and friendly smile. She has a natural skill in interpreting what we were looking for and made very helpful recommendations. We were impressed by her offer to come to our home on the day of delivery of our order so she could give guidance for arrangement to use our space most attractively. Rabia has been a delight to work with!
