The maintenance man Daniel attempted to breach the door even after realizing it had a latch on it. He attempted to do so for a few minutes. When approached about it he pretended not to know English. We notified the front desk immediately and went downstairs and spoke with management thoroughly (after checking out) as this was not his first time that he had done this within a month time period (see photo of review). It appears he targets this particular room with damages (she stated she was in a room with damages as well), while women stay there. I took several photos of all the damages in the room. There is absolutely no reason that it should have been booked for a guest let alone women given the circumstances. Even Hotels appeared to not have found a safe solution for their guests from the first occurrence, given he did it again a short couple weeks later. When asked what did they do, they stated he watched a few modules. Apparently that did not suffice and he should have been terminated immediately our complaint. Which could be proven by cameras. Britney Moreno (the Manager) claimed she would review them. He was still working and walking around carelessly and ignored us again when we attempted to ask him further why he attempted to come into our room violating our space and safety. No apology, remorse, nothing.
Again, he knew the door had a latch and still tried to break down the door and come in. I told them they could verify by reviewing the cameras because anything beyond less than a second is unacceptable. Once the key taps and you’re not able to move forward as you would without a latch you back off. He did not do so. That is how I was woken up from the door banging against the latch of him attempting to break in. Also, the manager I spoke with Britney Moreno, did not seem to care at all. I even asked if he was family or a friend because the matter was not taken seriously. She declined. But it was obvious there was something going on there. As a woman herself it was disheartening she wasn’t more empathic, lacked a tone of seriousness and reassurance that it would be taken care of. There doesn’t appear to be a protocol in place to check if the room is occupied, in addition to calling the room and asking if it’s okay to do repairs. But again it was intentional to not have anything repaired at all and then to go on to book the room anyhow. However the front desk staff was very apologetic about everything and apologized profusely. I’d like to add they did offer another room but we did not feel safe given the circumstances.
It appears to be the maintenance man Daniel m.o. to walk in guests rooms unannounced without permission or to break in even though the latch is in place. His photo will be here as well.
I will be continuing to follow up with corporate and leave additional reviews on other sites in hopes of protecting other women and so this matter is rectified.
To all women be safe, vigilant, let someone know where you’re staying + room number and ALWAYS put the latch on the door.

I would love to give this a 4, however when the room smells like old wet carpet and you have water coming up through the wooden floors when you walk on it. It's hard to justify 4 stars. I was only there for one night

Stayed at the EVEN Hotel in Shenandoah, TX. You know what? It was..cool. Like, this place didn't change my life or anything but it was pretty cool for what it was.
Rooms were clean, the gym setup was actually better than I expected. Bed was decent. Shower pressure didn’t disrespect me. I see the theme of every room being an even number and having the fitness oriented setup right in the room. That was interesting. 🙂
Front desk folks were polite, nobody was rude—no complaints about hospitality.
Would I stay here again? Yeah. It’s reliable. It didn’t wow me, didn’t piss me off. Sometimes that’s all you really need.
Solid middle-of-the-road vibes. Not too hot, not too cold. It’s the Goldilocks of hotel stays.

Had a bad customer service experience with the Hampton Inn, so we stumbled upon and ended up at The EVEN Hotel...
The EVEN Hotel smelled great as soon as you walked in. We were expecting similar customer service as The Hampton Inn, being a bigger city that where we came from.. but as soon as we walked in, every staff we came in contact with was absolutely amazing!! Questions were answered in a kind and helpful way.. so we decided to stay the night, it was late and we were.tired... the lady at the front desk was perfect, very helpful and oh so nice... room was great, AC was on point!! Breakfast was also great and again, the customer service from every employee on the evening of 7/9/25 and the morning of 7/10/2025 was perfect!! Everyone was nice and smiling and helpful. They even went above their job and started casual conversation with customers!! We will have several trips to the Woodlands dealing with my sister's appts at Methodist Hospital and we will now ALWAYS stay at this EVEN Hotel...
Dear EVEN Hotel Staff.. thank yall so very much for turning our bad night Into a better night!! Your Hotel was very clean but if it wasn't so clean, we would still choose to stay with yall just because of the way we were treated... all of you definitely need a raise!!

The front desk staff is great, but the rooms and gym could use some freshening up, and the equipment needs some work. It smells like it got wet in there.

Location:Very convenient, close to a shopping center, major highway, hospitals etc.Customer Service:In the day time is Superb ,Overnight however not so good this older guy didn't even greet us just stared at us as we walked through the lobby literally struggling with our luggage & cart & never offered assistance,I asked him for help and he literally ignored me.Housekeeping:On arrival room was clean, however if you stay more than a day prepare to beg for house keeping to clean your room, and then when she did come she didn't sweep or vacuum, nor dust or give us any small towels.Restaurant:Food should be more readily accessible especially breakfast,Even thou it was made fresh ,the wait is too long for basic food ,and the waitress & bar area is uninviting, and it would help to have an ice maker & microwave on every floor. There wasLiterally a line just to get ice and the ice buckets army insolated so ice melts quickly.Maybe you can add the option to order the food from your TV screen so it's more convenient & faster to order and menus in the rooms.Imenities:The 24hr gym is great & the added gym items in the room are a great feature. The pool is pretty small with no shade area by the immediate pool but it's clean.Overall:With a few minor changes & additions this hotel can be great,It's nice for the price ,location,& because it's fairly new & has a fresh feel for a vacational stay it's worth the rate ,but compared to other IHG hotels Its not at the least up to standard but not too far behind.I hope this review helps. The 2 younger guys that work at the desk are extremely nice and helpful thou as well as the morning manager, they make up for the cons I guess

Very disappointed with the customer service and overall operations of this particular location, I stayed at Even in Colorado and other IHG brands and never had real issues. The Woodlands location is not properly managed (probably since it is a franchise and not a corporate location), from the front desk to housekeeping and room availability. There was an issue with the room type I booked, and even though it was rectified, the hotel did not have any suites to offer even when it's available to book on various websites.I do understand things like that happen, but if I call the front desk from the hotel phone 4 times with no answer, then I call another 3 times from my mobile phone to get someone to pick up the phone then there's a problem.Even more when I have to walk all the way down to the front desk and find the staff member sitting on the side watching movies on his phone.Service recovery is mediocre at best, and I wasn't after the 15000 points (equivalent to $27), all I wanted is the room I booked and someone to answer the phone when needed. Also, as other reviews mentioned, housekeeping is not consistent. It seems like no one is following up and checking if things are being done properly, I had to talk to the front desk when leaving in the morning to make sure the room gets clean and I get fresh towels.Apart from that the hotel is mostly clean, looks new, spacious nice showers, comfortable beds, plush pillows.Location is not too bad too, not very walkable to restaurants and stores however within 5 minutes drive.

This place is all good from views but just happen on the day I got there and checked in (late evening) I was informed there was no cable or WiFi. I was given the option to not check in (free of charge) or check in. Honestly I had the kiddo and he was excited and wanted the pool the next day so I made the choice to check in. Next day I was startled by a 5am smoke alarm going off from someone burning something downstairs in the kitchen. Just a waste of time and money…
