Today I visited this Great Clips location in Southlake for the first time in about two months. I always get the same basic bald cut, which usually takes no more than 5–10 minutes and requires very little skill. Honestly, I’d do it myself if I didn’t need help making sure the back is even and clean. That’s the main reason I come to places like this—to get a quick, thorough, and even cut without missed spots.
This time, I was assigned to an older stylist I had never seen before. As soon as she started, the clippers began painfully pulling my hair, so I respectfully asked her to switch to a different set. She did, but something still felt off. She wasn’t applying enough pressure, and her technique felt inconsistent. She was cutting random spots without working through my head methodically.
Normally, it takes at least two passes to get my hair as short as I like it, but after just one light pass, she said she was done—even though I still had visible hair left. I politely told her I didn’t feel confident in the cut and asked the other stylist to finish it.
Thankfully, the second stylist stepped in and did a much better job—more pressure, more attention to detail, and a consistent, thorough cut across my whole head. She delivered the quality I’ve come to expect here.
If it weren’t for her, I would’ve rated this visit one star. But since she turned things around, I’m giving it three. That said, I’m still unsure if I’ll return. I’ve never had an issue here before, but this experience was frustrating. If you do visit, just be cautious—especially if you’re assigned to the same older stylist. If a basic bald cut wasn’t done right, I’d be concerned about how a more detailed haircut would turn out.

I went to get a haircut today at this location bc my usual place I go to was packed, and I need an SOS haircut and omggg never again am I getting my hair cut here… the cut was hideous and the barber still asked me for tip 🙄

First time I've been back to Great Clips in quite some time. My regular Barber retired. Chloe did a great job and still actually had the specifics of my haircut in the computer system from years ago. I use the online check-in system and she was there waiting for me when I arrived. I went straight to the chair. Haircut took only 20 or 25 minutes total time

I’ve been going to Great Clips for many years but have only been to the Southlake location twice. Both times the stylist had no idea what they were doing and I got the 2 worst haircuts I‘be ever had. Avoid this location at all costs.

Horrible every time i come in here.
The women that work here always have a bad attitude, not only can you tell they don’t care about their work or their jobs but they certainly do that care about you, your money, or your hair.
This girl did the sloppiest haircut ive ever had.
They can keep my money this time but not ever going back, i don’t know how anyone would put up with this.

Great Haircut from Stylist Rubi "Dee"! Every customer wants to feel valued in the exact way see treats her clients! A Cut Above! Makes everyone feel right at home! Conveniently located centrally to Southlake Town Square, if you have other shopping to get done. Parking is never a problem since there is a big lot with EV charging right across the street!

Hair cut was great, but the way they handle the queue is not fair to walk in patrons.Online was a 69 min wait. I arrived and there was nobody waiting in the place and there were 7 people ahead of me in the virtual line. Once they checked me in I was still 7th in line and anybody who showed up who checked in online before me would get to skip me and whoever was waiting in the store.Good luck if you just walk in. You will have to wait for all the online people to go before you are served.I guess the strategy is to check in hours ahead of time and just skip everyone in line in the store.
