Exceptional Care and Compassion
The Bayou City hospice team that cared for my dear friend Nell was truly extraordinary. Nurse Sabrina was an absolute blessing — her kindness, patience, and compassion went far beyond duty. Even when Nell could no longer speak, you could see the peace and comfort that came over her whenever Sabrina walked into the room. They had such a special bond, and it meant so much to all of us.
Anna was also wonderful — gentle, understanding, and incredibly patient. She always respected Nell’s preferences, waiting until Nell was ready before providing care. She never took it personally and treated her with dignity and love every single time.
The entire team met Nell exactly where she was, with grace and empathy. They understood her spirit and cared for her as if she were family. Their professionalism and heart made an incredibly difficult time so much easier. I’ll forever be grateful for the compassion and support they provided to Nell — and to all of us who loved her.

The first point of contact was Venecia. She made sure that everything was set up before my mom made it home from the hospital. The staff was was awesome, especially Sabrina, LaToya, Kevin and of course Venecia. It is obvious that the staff is passionate about their job and not just there for a paycheck. I highly recommend Bayou City if your family member needs hospice. Thank you to everyone who was instrumental in making my mom comfortable during her last few days on earth.

Locally owned and a wonderful company full of amazing managers and staff. I would not hesitate to use them to care for my loved one at the end of life. Best choice I've ever made.

We were initially thrilled to have Bayou City Hospice provide care for our father, but our experience has been extremely disappointing due to repeated failures in communication and follow through. Our assigned case manager, Rebecca (Becky), has shown a lack of competence in managing even the most basic aspects of our father’s care.
We were promised our very first nurse visit on a Friday, but that appointment was completely missed. After multiple calls, we finally tracked down Becky for an explanation - only to learn that the designated nurse was on vacation and no replacement had been properly arranged. As a case manager, one would expect her to be aware of her nurses’ schedules and ensure continuity of care. Since it was already late in the day, we agreed to wait until the following Monday to meet with the designated nurse, along with the social worker, to minimize disruption and stress for our father.
On Monday, however, a completely different nurse arrived (again not the designated one), who was still on vacation. On top of that, we had to chase down and double confirm with the social worker ourselves, even though we had been promised both would arrive together.
When we followed up with Becky to understand what was happening and to express the strain this constant rescheduling placed on us (since we were repeatedly having to take time off work) her response was flippant and dismissive by implying that we were difficult and suggested we simply apply for FMLA leave, effectively shifting the blame onto us rather than addressing the underlying issues.
To make matters worse, when we called the main line to express our concerns, we were told our file stated we had “declined 24-hour follow-up visitation.” This is absolutely false. We never declined visitation; Bayou City Hospice simply failed to send a nurse on Friday due to their own internal miscommunication and lack of organization.
Fast forward to today: we had finally rescheduled for our designated nurse to arrive at 9:00 a.m., only to receive a text confirming they would actually come at 10:30 instead. This constant shifting of schedules is exhausting and cannot keep happening. We haven’t even officially started my father’s care and yet Becky has already demonstrated that she cannot manage the most basic responsibilities. The other members of the organization have been nothing short of pleasant and extremely helpful (when we can actually get ahold of them or meet them in person). That said, we do not recommend that Becky continue in the administrative role. Despite her efforts, she has demonstrated that she is not able to meet the responsibilities required of the position.

If anyone has to go through the experience of having to select an at home hospice care service, Bayou City Hospice would be the perfect decision.
I had the unfortunate pleasure of working with Bayou City Hospice and EVERY single worker (CNA, Nurse, Adminstrative Representative etc.) we encountered exuded an impeccable level of genuine care, thoughtfulness, and empathy that made the level of sadness/mourning that my family experienced (daily) while participating in at home hospice, just a little bit more bearable.
The training that each worker experienced as it pertains to bedside manner and just seeing a patient and a patient's loved ones was evident with every encounter. It is clear that they instill in their workers the importance of tenderness, thoughtfulness, and care in a very effective manner.
I hope to never need to need hospice care again, but if I had to, I would definitely start with Bayou City Hospice.

Bayou City Hospice, and Camille specifically, were recommended to us by the owner of the assisted living home where my mother was living. Camille was a Godsend as she cared for my mother over her last 9 months of life. She noticed every detail, showed so much compassion, and provided clear information on what to expect. I was very well-informed every step of the way with frequent phone calls and texts. Camille was present when my mother passed away and her kindness and support at that time was priceless.

The nurses at Bayou Hospice are exceptional. Our first contact with Tracie, was phenomenal, she handled everything for us. Our mom's nurse, Courtney Ferguson has an excellent beside manner, she is compassionate, and efficient. Our Mom looked forward to seeing Courtney twice a week. We noticed that Mom was happy and alot more alert, she always gave us a report on what her and Courtney did each week. When we had to change hospice companies, it was a disappointment to our Mom. Our Mom suffers from dementia, and the absence of not having Courtney as her nurse took a toll on our Mom. Mom had developed a deep friendship with Courtney. We always knew when Courtney was taking care of our Mom that we didn't have to worry about her care. Courtney is an exceptional nurse, that always demonstrates professionalism, compassion, and dedication. She is a true asset to the profession. We Thank you Bayou City Hospice for the exceptional job that Courtney provided to our Mom. We are deeply saddened that we can no longer use your services. Thanks again for a job well done.

The nurses at Bayou City Hospice are truly special people, angels sent from heaven. From my first contact with Tracie, I knew I could count on them to be there for my dad. Amy and Buffy were amazing, so caring and compassionate throughout my father’s illness. I can’t say enough good things about the entire team. They also offered support for my mother, which was so appreciated. Even after my dad passed, they provided support to me and my family. They are definitely gifted people.

I was just here hoping to visit my poor grampapa and was accosted by A Very rude Karen with no bedside manner who works here. Moments later was offered some non-organic snacks by a nicer lady who meant well sadly my appetite was very much ruined by Cruella and her 101 sick patients .
You’d be better off leaving dear grand dad with the lot lizards at the flying J truck stop.

We love our team at Bayou City Hospice. They are so kind and all seem to genuinely care about their patients. Mom has said many times that she feels so fortunate to have her nurses and shower tech. They make such a difference in the lives of their patients!

As a Caregiver and now Manager of Resident Care at Village Green in Tomball I have know then staff at Bayou City for about 3 years now. Our staff and residents love Natalie, one of the most amazing nurses around. She is kind, thorough, and always there when me or families have questions. The Aides are amazing and always have our residents care as top priority. Tina is always around to answer my call if I ever have questions, and always makes families feel educated and confident that their family members will be in the best care.

Bayou City Hospice is one of the best Hospice companies there is. Natalie is one of the most professional, compassionate, and efficient nurses I have ever worked with. She makes sure her patients receive the best care. She is prompt with any requests I have ever asked of her. Never ask for orders twice. She is always patient and so loving with my Memory Care residents. She communicates well with families. Bayou City really is the best there is!
